Hello, my best friend has a serious issue and i'm afraid that I can't help her on my own. She's suffering from an eating disorder, she can't eat because she feels nauseous. After every forced meal she throws up. She can't go to a therapy, for her parents are very strict and religious, so they believe that she has to pray and her problems will be gone. It's getting serious and i'm extremely worried. Is there anything I can do to help her? Are there any recovery "tips" for friends of the sick person?

Dear lybrate-user-user, a consultation would be needed as to take a detailed case taking. Your friend might be suffering from some underlying mental health issues, probably a stressor. This could be of imminent risk to life if not taken care at early stage. Since every patient is different, a comprehensive treatment plan is needed. Meanwhile, you can talk to your friend if she is willing to open up to you, and may tell you the cause of her stress. Regards.
