My son, age 4 yrs, can not speak but to gain attraction he usually cried out very loud. We consult ENT and did several tests like beta, tympanometry and audiometry. One doctor recommend cochlear implant, Another told to go for hearing aid. After various test the people who sell hearing aid are now demanding to deposit 60000 cash as security deposit for the hearing aid. Is this necessary? Can anybody help what should we do?

You have to pay for hearing aids. Free hearing aids are available only in some Government projects like ADIP in selected institutes. But quality of devices not assured. If hearing aids doesn't help, you may try cochlear implants. However, in spite of these amplification devices, auditory training and speech therapy decides the successful treatment.
