I am suffering from tailbone pain since the last two-three years. I feel very uncomfortable and painful while sitting on a chair or anywhere. My age is 47, weight is 108 kg, height 170 cms. I have never sustained any kind of injury on my back or lower back. I am a patient of high bp and hypothyroidism. Please suggest the right treatment for my tailbone pain. Thanks.

The pain is often worsened by sitting. Coccydynia is often caused by an injury, but may occur seemingly spontaneously. There are many causes of tailbone pain which can mimic coccydynia, including sciatica, infection, pilonidal cysts, and fractured bone. In addition to relieving the pain of coccydynia, treatment should reduce inflammation and ease muscle tension. A recent study found that people with coccydynia benefited from performing exercises to increase thoracic spine mobility and to stretch the piriformis and iliopsoas muscles in the buttocks and hips
