What is the best treatment option for adenomyosis. I am 41 years old. This month I am having extended periods with heavy bleeding for two three days. Also I am suffering from severe gastritis which worsens just before my periods. Are these two connected?

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Adenomyosis is a condition in which the inner lining of the uterus (the endometrium) breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus (the myometrium). Adenomyosis can cause menstrual cramps, lower abdominal pressure, and bloating before menstrual periods. The most common symptoms are pain and menstrual irregularities. Effective treatments, such as hormones and excision surgery, are available. Please consult your gynecologist. Take care.
