Hi lybrate-user, start your day with a fresh juicy fruit. Good on stomach. Breakfast should be wholesome. Eat every 2 hours. Main meal options are roti-sabzi-dahi, rice-dal-sabzi, khichdi-dahi, etc. Workout 150 minutes a week, that's like thrice a week. Even though food is free in office, stay off junk that comes out of the packaged products including chips, sodas and juices. Stay hydrated. All the best and keep progressing on your fitness journey! hope this helps.

You need to plan your meals well. Eat smaller meals at frequent intervals. Reduce your meals but avoid long gaps between meals and/or heavy meals. Have an early dinner. Avoid outside, junk foods. Exercise whenever you get the opportunity or at least 3-4times a week. This will ensure at least initial weight loss. You have to eat right if you want to take medications. Without good diet even medications won' t cause miracles. Lastly. Be commited. There is no short cut.

Follow the doctor’s advice properly Eat plenty of vegetables Have sufficient fibres in your diet e.g. salads Cut down on sugar/ sweets Cut down on salty processed foods Cut down on energy dense, processed food - such as crisps, cakes, biscuits and pastries Make at least an hour rigorous physical activity part of your daily life i.e. jogging/ brisk walking/ running/ gym/ else you like Yoga/ meditation will help you in reducing stress level If you are non-vegies Eat fish regularly Cut down on processed meat but no problem with fresh (unprocessed) meat/ chicken If you are alcoholic/ smoker Cut down on alcohol/ smoking Check your Blood Pressure/ Cholesterol level (Lipid Profile)/ Renal Function Tests regularly. Take medicines regular to keep controlled your blood sugar as advised by your doctor. Remember, not only medicines, all the advices of doctor are precious and very useful.

Hello, these are the symptoms of dehydration. Please avoid going out side after 11am to 5pm, should go outside only if it's very important and necessary. If you even go outside please cover yourself with umbrella and cover with cloth or handkerchief. Take at least 5liters of water per day. At least one coconut water daily. Take electral or ors powder mixed in water to regain minerals and electrolytes because of which you are feeling dehydrated and fatigue.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. It is difficult to identify whether one has T1 or T2 diabetes by only symptoms. Following are the major differences in these two conditions. 1) T1 Diabetes: By and large T1 DM occurs at a much younger age including even in children & infants. In this condition there is no insulin production by the Beta cell of Islets of Langerhans in Pancreas. There are antibodies noticed against those cells. It is considered as an autoimmune diseae. These patients need Insulin for treatment and for survival. In India only 5 to 10% of total diabetic patients are suffering with T1 disease. Earlier it was called as Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus or early onset or Juvenile diabetes. 2) T2 DM: This is the commonest form seen. Over 90 to 95 % of all diabetic patients fall in this category. It occurs because of either deficient insulin production, or resistance to its action or due both. Obesity or over weight and inactivity are two major factors responsible in developing T2 DM. Plus it is a familial disease. If both parents are diabetic then 75% of children tend to get diabetes. Fortunately it is a preventable condition. If person maintains his weight near normal, exercises regularly and takes restricted and balanced diet then it can be postponed or prevented. Most often diabetes hardly produces any symptoms, hence many people fail to notice that they have the disease. Most common symptoms are excess urination, excess hunger and excess thirst, plus unexplained loss of weight and tiredness. There are many other forms of diabetes like gestational diabetes that develops during pregnancy, and others. Thanks.

For loosing weight few tips on diet say no to maida items like toast , khaari ,naan ,white bread . can drink tea but without sugar say no to Buffalo milk and can drink cows milk can eat brown bread can eat sprout's can eat green vegetables, can eat chappati ,bajra ka rotla can eat one katori of rice twice a day with dal to avoid farsan food items can eat fruits say no to coconut water and I will suggest you to do suryanamaskar daily as per your capacity for a minimum of six months

I was gone through a Heart Checkup. My ECG and Echo with color doppler are normal. Fasting blood sugar is normal. HDL 38 and LDL 176. I am 48 years of age and smoke occasionally with no bp and no diabetic. Dr. advised Crestor 10 Mg bed time and TMT. What is your opinion?

Mr. lybrate-user, If ECG & Echo are normal and if you have no symptoms related any cardiac problem, TMT is not necessary at all. Taking Atorvastatin 10 mg may be useful to reduce LDL. Thanks.

None. 1. Do regular exercise for 30 minutes daily like brisk walking 2. Reduce weight if overweight 3control diet a) avoid sweets, sugar/honey, milk, milk product excess calorie and carbohydrate rich diet like white bread, cereal, rice, pasta b) avoid all refined food like maida, pasta, starchy food like rice, potato, bakery item, processed food, c) include more fiber like pulse, green leafy vegetable, cucumber, carrot, tomato, j legume. D) avoid sweetened fruit like banana, mango, litchi, chickoo, sapota, seethaphal jack fruit, grape etc. Can have fruits like guava, pineapple, papaya, orange, mousambi, strawberry, watermelon, pomegranate, jack fruit, sweet potato, a handful of walnut daily (akhrot) e) avoid white/polished rice, take unpolished rice like brown rice/wheat/jowar/ragi, moong and chana dal. F) avoid ghee/ butter./coconut oil/excess salt intake like papad/pickle. G) avoid red meat. Take fish/chicken. H) avoid alcohol and carbonated drinks like soft drink 4. Adhere to a strict diabetic diet by consulting dietitian 5. Monitor your fasting, pp blood sugar 3 monthly and hba1c six monthly
