It is widely believed that if one drinks milk after eating fish (or other way around), you get skin disease. However this is not true. The skin disease (in which people's skin become white overtime) is a tropical skin disease and has nothing to do with simultaneous consumption of fish and milk.

Diet During Ramadan!

Diet During Ramadan!

Diet during ramadan:

Suhoor (early morning meal before fast):
1. Recommend oats/barley/quinoa/ muesli/ whole wheat chapati which will give energy throughout the day as they are complex carbs
2. Include some good quality protien too along with carbs like eggs/ tofu/ paneer/ nuts etc
3. Can sprinkle chia seeds, flaxseeds over oats/muesli to get good fats

Iftaar (breaking fast):

  1. Break fast with water and 3-4 pc's of dates which gives instant energy followed by a bowl of fruit or vegetable soup (can add some pc's of chicken or lentils) to gradually start digestive system to work.
  2. Then it should be followed by dinner which should be ideally after 1-2 hr of breaking fast. Dinner should be balanced with a blend of complex carbs, good protien and healthy fats. 
  3. Preferred to avoid refined oily fried foods as they can hamper digestion and cause acidity. 
  4. Diet should be rich in fibre as constipation is a common problem during this time.
  5. Should drink lots of water throughout the day.

Diet Tips: You may not eat or drink the following : Alcoholic Drinks. Butter, Margarine. Cakes, Pan Cakes, Cookies, Doughnuts, Pastries, Pies. Candy, Chocolates, Nuts. Creams, Cheese. French Fried Potatoes, Potato Chips. Pizza, Snack Foods. Gelatin Desserts, Puddings (Sugar-Sweetened). Gravies and Sauces. Jams, Jellies, Sugar and Syrup. Ice Cream, Ices, Ice Milk, Sherbets. Muffins, Waffles. Soda (Sugar-Sweetened). Cut down on salt and sugar. Eat from a small plate. Do not skip meals ? else being hungry you will overeat at the next meal. Do not eat while you are out of home Do not be tempted by prohibited foods. Keep tempting foods out of sight. Insulin is unlikely to be the reason for tiredness. I think sugars are still uncontrolled and hence he is having tiredness. You need to consult an Endocrinologist for better sugar control and to find out any other reason for tiredness.

To maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat: 1. Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

I will suggest you to get your blood checked for cbc and follow up with reports and few diet tips - not to eat fried food items and can eat all green vegetables, moong, chana, dal, rice etc and to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati and to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day and if possible eat eggs on alternate days and if possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla and eat seasonal fruit.

hi,do regular exercise. take 2 banana with warm milk in the morning and. eat soaked dry grapes or dates soaked in warm milk overnight. include protein rich food in your diet like soyabean, sattu with milk, eggs, sprouts, milk and milk products, combination of cereals and pulses, take healthy and heavy breakfast. no drink before meals. take frequent meals instead of 3 big meals. you can consult me privately online on lybrate for any advice.

Weight gain can be a time-consuming process. But you have to be patient and practice it correctly. You should take every 2 hourly meal and fix your meal timing and include good amount of nuts and High Proteins Like Eggs, lean meat, fish, skinless chicken, pulses, sprouts, and dairy products that rich sources of proteins. Please take fruit shakes (Like banana, mango) + 5-6 almonds and 1-2 walnuts.

That's how god has made us. Even sisters are different. Accept it and at 19 may be you are still growing. Eat lots of simple proteins like toned milk and curds and boiled eggs plus a few nuts, exercise, specially with arms, wright lifting and rowing, keep busy, there are no creams to enhance breasts, don't get fooled by ads. Plastic surgery is the only answer. Stay blessed.

Only food can give you energy to lift more weights and be stronger. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a.Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B.Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C.If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D.Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E.Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F.You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. Sir/ mam, myself 29 years old male, quiet fit n healthy though I drink (twice in a week with room temperature water) n smoke (twice in a day. Since last 3-4 months I have got continuous cold (and few times cough too) whch ws nt earlier. S I use to catch cold or fewer n cough bt tht ws lke a normal thng whch evry1 get. Bt this time though cough is nt regular bt cold seems to have dried little n my voice sounds odd while I talk due to that constant cold. I would b glad is you cud suggest some home made measures or ayurvedic way to come back to normalcy n lke I ws before. Thnx in advance.

Hello lybrate-user, please try to apply steam to face. Try drinking a decotion made by tulasi leaves, dried ginger, dried pepper. In a glass of water put all the above and boil it, till it reduce to half glass. And drink that hot hot. Can prepare and have it many times as you want. Thank you.

My son is a competitive swimmer. He is having some typical type of problem inert hand while the start of the race , his fingers spread apart and he has difficulty in pulling the water. Dear lybrateuser, - You may be feeling lazy because of weakness due to improper diet & sedentary lifestyle - have a proper routine for your daily activities like sleep & wake up time should be fixed, getting up late may cause lethargy & inability to concentrate, have meals at regular time, do not skip meals - have more of fruits & vegetables including seasonal & green leafy ones, avoid processed foods, have more of whole grains including whole wheat bread & chapati, brown rice, oats, corn, protein foods like eggs, milk & milk products, soya products, beans, pulses, lentils, sprouts, healthy fats like in sea foods, olive oil, walnuts - have 4-5 small meals including snacks in between the main meals - do regular exercise like jogging, swimming, for Chest muscles do pushups & pull ups, for biceps lift dumb bells in the house, also do yoga & deep breathing to keep your mind & body fit.
