lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. If you are having T1 diabetes then I am sure you must be on insulin, as there is no other treatment for that. All the modern drugs used in treating diabetes are very safe and used by diabetic patients for lifetime. So there is no reason to worry. Thanks. Particularly if one has Type 1 diabetes then Insulin injections is the ONLY treatment. Thanks.

Hi. I read article on mangoes. I am diabetic and its very much under control with medication, exercise and right eating. I love mangoes so I was wondering if I could eat a mango every alternative day or restrict my mango eating to bare minimum. Say a slice a day. Thanks.

If your diabetes is under control that if fasting is 100 mg pp 140 mg, you may eat one slice of mango a day. Please remember any indulgence is dangerous for sugar levels.

Hello based on your blood sugar levels, you don't have diabetes. For kidney function you need to get done blood urea and creatinine levels and ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis. For heart function you need to get ecg and an echo and see a heart specialist.

You have to follow a very disciplined life style if you have diabetes. If your sugar levels are high for a prolonged period of time, then there are chances that you may develop issues in your eyes, kidneys and nerves. You have to immediately get your sugar levels into controlled levels. In case of diabetes you have to eat nutrient dense food and exercise well. You need a diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, white rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water. Exercise atleast 5 times a week. Do not overeat. Eat 3 proper meals and 2 snacks in between. Stop when your stomach is 80% full. Eat slowly.

Mr Pranjul, If you get a fasting and after food blood sugar check, it is easy to find out whether diabetes is there. If is present then only option is to start treatment with proper anti diabetic drugs either oral or with insulin injections. Plus diet control and regular exercise also are required.

Nuts don't reduce blood sugar, they are beneficial if taken in limits. They tend to raise good cholesterol.
