I am having lower back pain with burning kind of sensation from last 4 years. It pains on the both sides of the back bone. History: Almost 4 years back while lying on my elbow on bed I slipped slightly and felt a small twitch in almost middle of the back near spinal cord. Next morning I felt very strong pain in back and the back felt very stiff. I consulted a nearby doctor and he prescribed some medicines. The medicine relieved pain for some time. But after that the pain started to re occur though there was no stiffness. I consulted in Manipal Hospital Bangalore 3-4 months after that. They took x Ray and they said everything looks OK. They asked me to do some exercises. I did that for few days but I did not feel any difference. After few more months I consulted a different doctor in Bangalore. After examination he recommended for internal physio therapy sessions. They used to rub some lubricant kind of thing on the lower back and do some massage kind of thing with a vibrating patch. I went for 5-6 sessions and felt some what relieved but the pain started to occur again. I consulted an orthopedic 2 months back. He gave me some medicines and asked me do some exercises which I did for 1 month. But still it is same. If I I run for 15-20 min and the body gets little warm up it feels relaxed in the back also. Can you guide me what should I do to get cured?

Hi, kindly get mri of lumbar spine done to see disc, foramen, nerve, facet joints and sacroiliac joints which might be your source of problem. Once diagnosis is confirmed it can be treated, as per your history I don't see you have been diagnosed properly, moreover burning sensation signifies neuropathic component (nerve involvement) along with pain, which requires close assessment.

Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Mr.Ramana, After 1 yr after surgery, & after ur hand became normal also, i dontthink that u still need to continue the medication, if its pain killers. if any thing else, then u need to take ur concern Orth surgeon's opinion. If pain is there on & off, after exertion, then, if its bearable, u can ignore.Gradually it will be normal.otherwise, its better to use external appliaction in place of internal pain killers which are safer.

Your description of ailment is not very clear. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Exercises for cervicogenic headache hi dear, I hope you will fitt and fine The following exercises are commonly prescribed to patients with this condition. You should discuss the suitability of these exercises with your physiotherapist prior to beginning them. Generally, they should be performed 2 – 5 times daily and only provided they do not cause or increase symptoms. Your physiotherapist can advise when it is appropriate to begin the initial exercises and eventually progress to the intermediate and advanced exercises. As a general rule, addition of exercises or progression to more advanced exercises should take place provided there is no increase in symptoms. ________________________________________ Initial Exercises Chin Tucks Begin this exercise by sitting or standing tall with your back and neck straight, shoulders should be back slightly. Tuck your chin in as far as you can go without pain and provided you feel no more than a mild to moderate stretch (figure 4). Keep your eyes and nose facing forwards during the movement. Hold for 2 seconds and repeat 10 times provided there is no increase in symptoms. Repeat 3 – 5 times daily. (N. B In some cases it may be beneficial to perform this exercise every 1 or 2 hours provided the exercise does not cause or increase symptoms). Shoulder Blade Squeezes Begin this exercise by sitting or standing tall with your back straight. Squeeze your shoulder blades together as hard and far as possible pain-free (figure 5). Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times provided there is no increase in symptoms. Repeat 3 – 5 times daily. (N. B In some cases it may be beneficial to perform this exercise every 1 or 2 hours provided the exercise does not cause or increase symptoms) Some of the most commonly recommended products by physiotherapists to hasten healing and speed recovery in patients with this condition include: 1.Postural Supports To enjoy a long and healthy life 2.Therapeutic Pillows 3.Ice Packs and Heat Packs 4.Lumbar Rolls (for sitting) 5.Sports Tape (for postural taping) 6.McKenzie Treat Your Own Neck Book 7.Foam Rollers 8.Massage Balls (for self massage) 9.TENS Machines (for pain relief)
