MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Kindly consult a physician & dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Scaling deals th soft and hard deposits on the teeth. It has nothing to do with colour. Bleaching would the preferred option for whitening.

Hi Good morning

I'm suffering from some kind of bad smell, I'm feeling some kind of bad smile everywhere some times...
Sir, you need to contact dentist and undergo for scaling (deep cleaning) of the teeth. Then you need to gargle yours mouth daily twice with mouthwash only after you undergo scaling. Mouthwash you need to do after breakfast as well as after dinner and should not brush or eat food after using mouthwash atleast for one hour.

MDS - Periodontics
Dentist, Yamunanagar
Dear Please visit a good Oral Surgeon (a specialist dental surgeon) or any good medical or dental college or institute to first get the diagnosis (reason) of your condition. Please do not try to vague ideas to treat yourself, as until the cause is known there would be no treatment. This can be simple dehydration or may be the starting of some serious disease. I am not trying to scare you, just that I want you to know the cause of this, which may be insignificant also. For the time being take lots of water to keep your body hydrated. Good Luck, God Bless and Take Care.

All About Dental Implants

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, BDS

All About Dental Implants

Dental implants are surgical fixtures that are inserted into the jawbone to allow fusing over a span of few months. The implant works as a root replacement for a missing tooth. Eventually, this artificially placed tooth root helps in holding the bridge (partial denture) or the replacement tooth firmly. Dental implants are even designed to match your natural teeth, rendering a strong foundation to both the removable and the fixed replacement teeth.

Are you a candidate for Dental Implants?

Dental implants are used to replace a single tooth, several teeth, or all of the teeth. The goal of teeth replacement is to restore function as well as esthetics.

When it comes to tooth replacement, dental implants is of the three options available. Deciding on which option to choose depends on many factors. Specifically for dental implants, these factors include:

  • location of missing tooth or teeth,

  • quantity and quality of the jawbone where the dental implant is to be placed,

  • health of the patient,

  • cost,

  • patient preference.

A dental surgeon examines the area to be considered for the dental implant and makes a clinical assessment of whether the patient is a good candidate for a dental implant.

Here are a few advantages of getting a dental implant done:

  1. Improved Appearance: Dental implants provide an almost natural look to the teeth. Since they are designed in a way to amalgamate with your bone, they subsequently become permanent.

  2. Enhanced Speech: Dental implants let you speak effortlessly and without the scare of your teeth slipping inside the mouth and meddling with your speech; which is otherwise a common phenomenon with ill-fitted dentures.

  3. More Comfort: Since the implants become a part of you, they do away with the hassles accompanying removable dentures.

  4. Easier Eating: Sliding dentures might pose difficulty while chewing. Dental implants help you with an almost painless eating experience owing to the fact that they function just the way your original teeth would.

  5. Improved Oral Health: There is no need of reduction or alteration of the surrounding teeth in order to support the implants. Hence most of the teeth are left just as they are, improving one’s oral hygiene.

  6. Durability: Implants are tough and resistant, and can last a lifetime if taken proper care of.

  7. Convenience: Dental implants spare one the inconvenience that is so common with removable dentures and at the time of fixing them to their place with messy adhesives.

Healthy gums and strong jaw bones are the only two requisites for a dental implant. Maintaining good oral hygiene and visiting or consult a dentist regularly should be at the top of the priority list after getting the implants done. However, one needs to put in the same amount and quality of care (read brushing and flossing) to the dental implants as one would’ve had to his/her original teeth. A thorough rinse with the help of an antibacterial mouth wash is a must along with periodic dental check-ups.

My friend she brushes twice a day but still she has foul smell from her mouth. Please suggest.

MDS
Dentist, Kota
My friend she brushes twice a day but still she has foul smell from her mouth. Please suggest.
Foul smell could be due to oral, gastro-intestinal or lungs diseases. Brushing twice daily doesn't mean hygiene is good as many times people brush but not able to clean mouth properly. So I suggest you to visit dentist and thereafter maintain hygiene properly. If your oral hygiene is good then consult for gastro or lungs disease specialist.

Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

She is suffering from mouth ulcers. And they are very painful. What can I do. And she gets very frequently.
Hello, you can apply baking soda over it or do baking soda in water mouth rinses. This will help to heal ulcers. If they still persist, you need to consult a physician and get your Vitamin B level checked. If required, take supplements for it.

I have big problem of my mouth after brush my mouth smell and teeth yellow . please help me.
Bad breath can be due to various reasons. If you have bleeding gums or tartar accumulation on your teeth, a dental cleaning will help you overcome the problem. If you have any other issue like constipation or acidity or sinusitis etc, you need to get the root cause of the problem treated. In the meanwhile you can use any over the counter mouthwash and maintain a good oral hygiene which will reduce the bad smell to some extent.

Dental problem, there is some problem in her teeth root, infected roots cause too much pain.
If the root part is infected only two possible options to have. Either to go for root canal treatment in order to save the tooth if possible. Or get the tooth extracted if not able to save the tooth.

I have ulcers on the tongue and gingiva and its paining a lot. Prescribe me some medicine for this.
Hi lybrate-user ulcers on the tongue and gingiva could be indicative of viral infection in the mouth. I suggest you see a dentist, an oral surgeon, or an oral medicine specialist for evaluation. In the meantime, you can use any anaesthetic mouth ulcer gel, particularly just before meals, for symptomatic relief.

After removing your braces, your orthodontist would have given you retainers to wear. You need to wear them regularly. Since your spaces are already opening up you can get your retainers checked and tightened/ adjusted by your orthodontist and continue wearing them regularly 24*7 for at least 6 months and then continue with night time wear later on.

i would ask him to go for extraction in a planned way. as you are aware of it that it is a horizontal one the there must be an episode wen it was painful and after x ray the dentist must have told you about the situation. he shd not wait for a painful episode better get rid of that tooth wen he is free
