Dear lybrate-user, egg is released usually between 24-48 hours after the injection. We cannot know on ultrasound about egg fetilization. The earliest way to know about pregnancy is to go for a blood test after 12 d of ovulation.

You must take her to a sexologist and have a frank talk about these issues. She may be having some problems regarding sex and they may come family influences or childhood events. Even a gynaecologist could help her if she is comfortable with one. If this has been happening only recently, then check out if she has any problems with an early menopause. On your part, I would advise that you are gentle and patient with her until you understand the exact nature and cause of this sudden behavior. Many times women go through unexplained phases like this and come out of it easily too. So, first, help her by gentle coaxing and show her that you care for her more than sex alone. Many times we men become callous when we want our sexual desires fulfilled and neglect the warmth and love that goes with it because of habit and selfishness.

Tubal Scarring and Infertility

Tubal Scarring and Infertility

The fallopian tubes are not mere passages for the egg to travel from the ovaries to the uterus. It is here that conception occurs and hence healthy fallopian tubes are essential for the fertilization of an egg.

Damaged fallopian tubes are the most common cause of infertility. This damage can fall under three categories.

  1. Blocked fallopian tubes
  2. One blocked and one open fallopian tube
  3. Tubal scarring

The third is usually an effect of pelvic infections or natural healing after a pelvic surgery. Sadly, in most cases, this condition is discovered only after infertility has been diagnosed. Other causes of fallopian tubal scarring include:

  1. STDs such as chlamydia trachomatis and neisseria gonorrhea
  2. Adhesions caused by ruptured ovarian cysts
  3. Appendicitis
  4. Peritonitis
  5. A history of ectopic pregnancies

Fallopian tubal scarring has no recognizable symptoms. Chronic pelvic pain is the only known symptom of this damage and that too can be seen only in severe cases of tubal scarring. On diagnosing infertility, your doctor will perform one of these tests to determine the condition of your fallopian tubes.

  1. Hysterosalpingogram: This is a type of X-ray. Your doctor will open the vagina with a speculum and inject a liquid into the uterus with the help of a catheter. If the liquid does not pass through the fallopian tubes, it is said to be blocked. This however, does not say much about tubal scarring.
  2. Laparoscopy: A small incision is made below the belly button and a slim, flexible tube with a camera is passed through the incision. This gives your doctor a clear view of the condition of your fallopian tubes. A laparoscopy can also be used to rule out other causes of infertility such as endometriosis or blocked fallopian tubes.

Treatment for infertility caused by tubal scarring is of two types:

  1. Surgery: This is suggested in cases where tubal scarring is minimal. Depending on the intensity and placement of scar tissue, your doctor may decide to perform one of many types of surgeries. He may choose to remove the scarred section of the fallopian tube, create a new opening (in case of blockages) or rebuild the damaged edges of the fallopian tubes.
  2. In Vitro Fertilization(IVF): Women with badly scarred fallopian tubes usually have poor chances of conceiving naturally. Hence, IVF is the preferred treatment route. However, your doctor may still advise you to undergo surgery and remove the damaged tubes prior to IVF to prevent the tubes from filling with fluid.

I am suffering from PCOD problem how can I get pregnancy as I vexed with many doctor s prescription? Could you please sugest any remedy for my problem.

Pcod is associated with altered hormone level. This can be corrected with medicine. Once it is controlled you may take medicine for induction of ovulation. If you have successful ovulation you will conceive. But take all the medicine in consultation with your doctor.

I had sex yesterday. I used condom with her and after 3 hours I gave her unwanted 72 and after 6 hours she got nausea...
Unwanted 72 is high dose of hormone. May cause symptoms like nausea. But high frequency of urine may be due to urinary infection. Let her do a urine routine test.

Hi lybrate-user If you are not having high blood pressure, there is no need to take this drug. If you do have high blood pressure, please take medicines to reduce that. There is no evidence that these drugs are of any use. And definitely no evidence about effect on baby.

I am 6 months pregnant with low lying placenta. Do I have to take complete bed rest? If yes, then what complications I will face if I will not take rest?

I am 6 months pregnant with low lying placenta. Do I have to take complete bed rest? If yes, then what complications ...
Low-lying placenta, or placenta praevia, is a complication of pregnancy where the placenta that feeds the growing baby is attached to the lower part of the womb near to or covering the cervix. Low-lying placenta may be picked up during a routine 20-week ultrasound scan appointment. You can't do anything to change the position of your placenta. But you can do a lot to stay healthy and well. Eat plenty of nutritious foods, particularly those that are rich in iron, such as red meat, pulses and green leafy vegetables. This will reduce your chances of becoming anaemic. If your iron levels are low, your doctor or midwife may recommend that you take iron supplements. If you’re in hospital, keep your circulation going to help prevent blood clots. Try to move around, drink plenty of water, and use compression stockings if your midwife offers them to you. If you have placenta praevia and are waiting to see if your placenta moves up, it's bound to be a worrying time for you. Rest assured you will have the most experienced doctors available to care for you and your baby. In the meantime, learn what's involved in a caesarean section.
