Hi My son is 5 months old, We had echo test and he have Bicuspid Aortic Valve with normal biventricular function. Is there any chances or possibilities that it will resolve automatically?

Bicupsid aortic valves means, that your son was born with two leaflets in the aortic valve instead of the normal 3 leaflets. It cannot resolve, it is just that he will have these 2 leaflets instead of 3. Biscuspid aortic valve is prone to damages and degeneration faster as compared to a normal valve, so you should get him evaluated every 2-3 years with a Echo under the supervision of a cardiologist, so that when the denegration happens it can be detected timely and followed up. Your child can have a normal childhood so do not panic.

It’s a common concern to watch young kids eat mud, chalks, plaster from wall, sand and other such dirt or rather ‘inedible items’. 1. Keep you home spic and span and free of dust and dirt. 2. Keep all sand, dust, clay and soil related items at a greter height. 3. Also teach your kids to wash their hands and mouth after playing with the dirt 4. Give a balanced diet to your child with increased proportion of calcium, iron and zinc. These can be obtained from meat (esp. Read meat), liver, eggs, seafood, grains, cereals, and legumes and dairy products. Consult your pediatrician, who may prescribe supplements.

Her eyes need regular cleaning. Use clean cotton dipped in cooled boiled water. Clean both eyes with that cotton and water every few hours. Wash your hands after you clean. If the eyes are becoming red and swollen, she will need eye drops.

What is the home remedy for running nose of a child. Please share a remedy which I can do at home.
To comfort a child with running nose give him humidified air with warm water. You can keep room humidified with water vapours. If the child is more than 1 year use honey. For child younger than 1 year honey poses risk of botulism.

Dear lybrate user, its always good to start on your fitness program. Every step matters. Its never too late. Aim should be to do intensive cardio/aerobic exercises for at least an hour every day. Regular mat based yoga is too slow/light to give any significant weight loss benefits. Better to go to gym and do your own exercises. Or join zumba or aerobic classes. If you are going to gym you can follow following routine. #a. 5 minutes light warm up with side jumps and stretches. #b. 10 minutes treadmill with speeds from 6-8 kmph #c. 10 mins abs and stretches. #d. 10 mins cycling with speeds from 25-32 kmph. #e 5 mins. Light weights and dumbells #6.10 mins treadmill #7.10 mins stretches and abs crunches. Stay fit. Stay healthy. Stay happy.
