Slight variation is found almost in everyone. But others may have specific reasons such as natural growth, pattern of physical work, hormonal etc. All the tests and phy examination is necessary at nearest hospital. If there's no problem, cosmetic reasons may be the concern.

Hi I married in 2011, same year i had abortion for 8weeks, again conceived in 2014 jan, but in july 2014 again miscarriage, due to watering,, now again am pregnent, 18th week, how do i take care? am taking gardinal 60mg will there be any side effects for baby?

MBBS (Gold Medalist, Hons), MS (Obst and Gynae- Gold Medalist), DNB (Obst and Gynae), Fellow- Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (ACOG, USA), FIAOG
Gynaecologist, Kolkata
Gardenal definitely has some side effects in baby. But if you stop it, you may get epileptic attack, that is detrimental to you as well as your baby. Hope, your gynaecologist has advised you the number of tests (blood and USG) to detect the defects in the baby (which are very easily detected at this stage)... Now, regarding your previous miscarriage, I don't know if you had undergone investigations to find out the cause of miscarriages (ideally to be done before pregnancy). Now, you don't have much to do except taking rest, avoiding strenuous works and depending on the cause of the miscarriage (if the cause was known) some drugs and even some operation (cerclage) can be done. All the best

Either she is having uterine prolapse or cervical erosion ,due to which she gets spotting, get her checked once as both the conditions are treatable, as regards piles again she needs to have medications, ask her to avoid spicy food, drink lots of water and take a balanced diet.

Tips To Maintain Hygeine During Menstruation (Periods)

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MBBS
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Tips To Maintain Hygeine During Menstruation (Periods)
Generally the 3--4 days during periods are the most inconvenient and sometimes messy for all women.
By applying a few general rules you can make your life easy and comfortable.
1. You should change your pad after every 4--5 hours even though it may not be fully soaked as because the same pad for hours together-----from morning to evening can cause irritation of the private parts.
This is applicable especially for youngsters and college students who may be away from home for long hours for college or tuition or classes and surroundings may not be convenient.
2. Always carry 2 extra pads in your bag or purse and also a spare undergarment.
Sometimes during heavy flow days the undergarment may get soiled and can cause a lot of discomfort.
3. Always carry some tissue papers in your handbag. Especially during periods. They may come handy while using a public toilet.
4. Try keeping a small thin plastic bag in your purse for obvious reasons.
5. You can apply any anti fungal dusting powder to your private parts twice daily during periods after a bath. Having bath twice daily is advisable.
6. Some women suffer from rashes during periods. Try changing the brand of your sanitary napkin. Maybe the one you are using presently does not suit your skin type.
7. In case the rashes are too much. You can apply some anti fungal and anti bacterial ointment over the affected part. Candid -b is the one which is most widely available and you don't need a prescription for that.
8. Avoid wearing excessively tight pants and especially jeans. Some loose comfortable cotton clothing is advisable.
9. If you have too much pain during periods you can use otc medicines like tab. Cyclopam for pain relief. You should always carry a strip of this medicine in your purse.
10. Drink lots of water or juices or coconut water and keep yourself well hydrated.

I did my first test for pregnancy using test kit. To reconfirm I have done it twice and it seems I have conceived now. With this I am facing few following symptoms. My belly bloated although it is only 10-15 days after I conceived. Is it normal or any kind of complications. Waiting for valuations suggestions. Thanks, Tapaswini.

I did my first test for pregnancy using test kit. To reconfirm I have done it twice and it seems I have conceived now...
If there r two lines on the test, then only it is positive. During pregnancy, progesterone hormone is secreted by the pregnancy, which causes, water retention in the body giving you the bloated feeling. All this is temporary and will go in few weeks time without any treatment. But you need to start taking folic acid tablets and do the sonography asap.

I am a 23 year old female. Me and my partner both are virgins. I just wanted to know whether it is safe to use flavored condoms for the first time? If not, then which condom and contraception should we choose to avoid unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and other side effects?

Some causes of normal nipple discharge include: • Pregnancy. In the early stages of pregnancy, some women notice clear breast discharge coming from their nipples. In the later stages of pregnancy, this discharge may take on a watery, milky appearance. • Stopping breastfeeding. Even after you have stopped nursing your baby, you may notice that a milk-like breast discharge persists for a while. • Stimulation. Nipples may secrete fluid when they are stimulated or squeezed. Normal nipple discharge may also occur when your nipples are repeatedly chafed by your bra or during vigorous physical exercise, such as jogging. Normal nipple discharge more commonly occurs in both nipples and is often released when the nipples are compressed or squeezed. Some women who are concerned about breast secretions may actually cause it to worsen. They do this by repeatedly squeezing their nipples to check for nipple discharge. In these instances, leaving the nipples alone for a while may help the condition to improve. My advise for you is to wait for periods until next expected date.If she get periods then just leave this concern there itself and if no periods then go for URINE PREGNANCY TEST just as a precaution.

If you and your partner are planning to conceive, you should start taking folic acid before you get pregnant. Folic acid helps to provide the best health outcomes for your baby when it is growing. Taking folic acid daily before and during pregnancy also prevents the occurrence of neural tube defects, such as spina bifida, in your baby. You’re most likely to get pregnant if you have sex within a day or so of ovulation (releasing an egg from the ovary). This is usually about 14 days after the first day of your last period. An egg lives for about 12-24 hours after it’s released. For pregnancy to happen, the egg must be fertilised by a sperm within this time. If you want to get pregnant, having sex every couple of days will mean there’s always sperm waiting in the fallopian tubes to meet the egg when it’s released.
