Know More About Facelift

FAPS (Cosmetic Surgery)-USA,, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Delhi
Play video

Hi,

I am Dr PK Talwar cosmetic surgeon. I have been doing cosmetic surgery for last 28 years in Delhi. The topic which I would like to speak today is facelift and blepharoplasty, you see with precious of time all because of gravity, pollution and other factors and because of loss of fat, our skin and muscles of the face they become LAX and that is how the signs of aging come. Now to counter that previously we used to do surgical facelift, now what is surgical facelift, a surgical facelift we used to cut the skin in front of the ears and behind the neck open the skin like bonnet of a car, tighten the muscles and then excise the extra skin and pull it up and suture it with that the patient will have nice look. But surgery is now getting less and less preferred by the patients and patient want something which is non-invasive, the reason is that though the scars are very minimal and you hardly find out the scar but because of slight pain, swelling or hospitalization or a day or so, patient did not prefer facelift especially in contemporary time because now there are other techniques are also available but why we are doing surgical facelift I think that it would give you the best possible best result because surgically you can tighten the muscle and the skin. Now the other techniques which came in to help the patient was restarted thread lift now with the thread they used to barbed threads their small barbs you will introduce the barbs from the temporal region below the skin and skin of the face lift of the skin and put it on the barbs with that the skin will be held up by the barbs. They used to be absorbable or non-absorbable different kinds of techniques and with these barbs, the result will not last as long as the surgical facelift but at the same time, it will last for years 2 years or 3 years it depends on how good you are taking care of your facial skin. This thread lift is still very common because it is one of the non-invasive techniques though there are other thread which can you can do it even like cog threads, even you can do in the office but still I prefer that the thread left in a surgical operation theatre will do with longer results and it will definitely give a better results. Now with the precious of time, the skin around your eyes also become black and in that what you can do is, you can always cut the skin here, lift up and then suture it back, it will give you more youthful look. Now again the problem has come with the people who do not want even this surgery, now so there have been other techniques which have come up to improve your eyes which we will be talking in our next lectures. Now with this new technique or thread lifts or the blepharoplasty, you don't need any hospitalization, what you do is come to an operation theatres get it within one hour, get the thread lift in one hour and then you can go back home and there is hardly any swelling. Though we give some antibiotics and mixing for reducing the edema etc. because if there is swelling it will use to heal 5 or 7 days of time and there are certain precautions which we tell the patient that not to wide open the mouth etc and we have seen that lot of patients lot of patients are now coming for work with the non-surgical facelift or thread lift because they really love it that something which doesn't leave any scar at all.

Thank you very much.

5 Tips To Subdue Itching Of The Skin

MD - Dermatology, MBBS

5 Tips To Subdue Itching Of The Skin

Skin irritants are everywhere. Even in your house, there is practically no place where there are no skin irritants. Laundry detergents, air fresheners and floor polishes are just a few factors that cause skin itching. The reason why this happens is because products like air fresheners and floor polishes take away essential oils and water from the skin which leads to dryness and irritation.

This type of dry, itchy skin can also progress to skin conditions like eczema. Here are some ways you can stop your skin from becoming dry and itchy:

  1. Wear gloves: The ideal thing to do would be to wear soft, thin cotton gloves and wear rubber gloves on top of that. Do not touch a bucket or sponge without it. If you cannot wear soft, thin cotton gloves underneath, at least wear the rubber gloves as this protects your hands from irritants.
  2. Take a shower after swimming: Chlorine is one of the principal causes of itchiness in your skin. It is absolutely essential that once you have finished swimming you take a shower with water and a little soap. Even more importantly, use a moisturizer with glycerin in it, as this will keep the moisture trapped inside. Glycerin is particularly good at holding on to moisture.
  3. Petroleum jelly: Petroleum jelly has been proven to reduce the chance of dry, itchy skin because it contains only one ingredient. This one ingredient formula is especially great when it is applied to sensitive skin. The reason why one ingredient is better than a moisturizer with many chemicals is because a one ingredient formula is gentler and therefore creates a protective barrier against irritants.
  4. Oatmeal bath: For this kind of treatment, grind oatmeal in a blender and then sprinkle it in your bath water. Oatmeal has an anti-inflammatory substance known as Avenanthramide, which decreases itching and redness of the skin.
  5. Cleanliness: This is perhaps the most important tip, which can be given. If you do not regularly clean your floors or wash your bed sheets in hot water than you are at a high risk of getting mites and these are one of the most common irritants of your skin.

He as got rectal cancer. Rectum as to b removed bcoz of mass in on rectum. Colostomy as to b done or other option r dere. Bcoz ostomy bag he as got but it is difficult for him vt bag, can rectum b fitted or transplant again.

MS - General Surgery, MBBS
General Surgeon, Delhi
Treatment of rectal cancer depends on extent of involvement and whether it has grown beyond the rectum or not. But surgery remains the mainstay. In most cases it is possible to rejoin the two cut end thus a permanent colostomy can be avoided. However if disease involves lower part/ anal canal then permanent colostomy is the only option.

1. Lemon Juice A quick and easy solution can be found in your kitchen or your nearest grocery store – lemon juice. Lemons have vitamin C that can lighten dark spots on your face. It’s easy to apply. Put some fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the affected skin area. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with plain water. Continue applying this dark spot removal home remedy for at least two weeks to get the desired result. If you have delicate or sensitive skin, you can dilute the lemon juice with plain water, rosewater, or honey. You can also use lime juice to get rid of black spots, applying it in the same manner as described above. 2. Buttermilk Buttermilk is also beneficial in getting rid of dark spots. Like lemon juice, it also helps fade blemishes and black spots but without causing burning sensation. Black Spots Home Remedy Take four teaspoons of buttermilk. Add two teaspoons of fresh tomato juice. Mix the two ingredients (both have excellent bleaching properties) and then apply. Wash it off after 15 minutes. The lactic acid in milk too, will gradually reduce skin pigmentation, and brighten and tone your overall skin complexion. So, if you do not have buttermilk, simply apply soak a cotton ball in milk and dab it directly on your spots. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off Put milk on a cotton ball and dab it directly on your spots. Repeat this procedure twice daily for four to five weeks. You can also prepare a solution by mixing milk and honey and apply the solution to your dark spots, leaving it on for 10 minutes. 3. Oats Oatmeal powder is considered good for skin exfoliation. Hence, you can apply an oatmeal mask on your face and neck to remove dead skin and black spots. Grind half a cup of rolled oats. Add three to four tablespoons of lemon juice to make a paste. Scrub it on your skin and wash it off with warm water when it dries. If it becomes messy, use a clean cloth soaked in warm water to remove the mask. Follow this treatment once or twice a week. 4. Almonds Take 8-10 almonds and soak them in milk overnight. Peel off the skin and grind the almonds in the morning. Now, add one teaspoon sandalwood powder and half a teaspoon honey in it. Mix them to make a fine paste. Apply it on your face. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and then wash it off. 5. Sandalwood Sandalwood is another effective option. Sandalwood for black spots Make a thick paste of 1 tablespoon of sandalwood powder, 1 tablespoon of glycerin and 3 tablespoons of rose water. (If you don’t have rose water, you can use milk or honey.) Apply the thick paste to the affected skin area, leaving it on for a few minutes. Wash off the paste with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy once daily until your black spots vanish completely. 6. Potato potato for black spots Your vegetable drawer is another source of home remedies for black spots or dark patches. Potatoes can be applied in one of the two ways: Slice up a potato and place one slice directly on the black spots; leave on for a few minutes and then wash your face with lukewarm water. You can also make a face mask by combining grated potato with honey. Some people have also had success using tomatoes to get rid of dark black spots within a few weeks. Black spots or dark patches can be easily lightened or eliminated to restore a glowing facial complexion. Dark spots, patches and other marks on the face may be due to excess secretion of melanin on the skin. Some factors that can lead to this condition include over exposure to the sun, hormone imbalance, pregnancy, certain medications, vitamin deficiencies, lack of sleep and too much stress.

Vinegar is a natural exfoliate and you can use either apple cider or white vinegar to exfoliate your skin. Using clean pad, apply some vinegar on the face and rinse it off after five to 10 minutes with cool water. If your skin is sensitive, you can dilute the vinegar with water. You can also freeze the vinegar into cubes or chill it for a cooling effect. This treatment can help control oily skin and acne but you will need to use the vinegar consistently before bed for about two to three weeks for best results. Aloe vera We all know that Aloe Vera has various healing powers. This miracle plant is great for the skin and you can grow it naturally and then slice it to get the gel or purchase the gel from your nearest department store. You can apply aloe gel on your face three times a day and you do not even need to rinse it off.
