I have a severe migraine from many days, no tablets are able to control the pain, is there any good way to control it?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, migraine is a form of headache. The pain is usually throbbing, pulsating and bursting in character. At times, the pain is one sided or may involve the whole head. Such pain may last for hours or even days. It is often accompanied by other symptoms like nausea or vomiting. At the same time, there is increased sensitivity to light and sound. The causes of the problem may vary from one patient to another and so will the final choice of the homoeopathic remedy. Prevention tips:- 1. Keep a headache diary: this may help you in identifying the trigger factors such as foods, activities and weather 2. Exercise regularly: regular exercise, yoga and relaxation techniques such as meditation can also be of great help. 3. Keep regular sleep patterns: sleep adequately. Sleeping too much or too less can trigger migraine. 4. Watch out what you eat: foods such as caffeine and chinese foods that contain monosodium glucamate and chocolates cheese are well-known trigger factors. 5. Eat regularly: fasting is a very common trigger in many people. If it is such a factor for you too, make sure that you eat at regular intervals. ***selection of homoeopathic remedy depends upon the totality of your symptoms. So please share your symptoms.

Hi Anam Numbness of your hands could be related to thyroid problem. There might also be deficiency of vitamin B-12. You should start exercising daily for 30 minutes. simple aerobics will be enough. Start taking calcium, vitamin-D and Vitamin B-12 supplements. One tablet of calcium daily and One for Vitamin B-12 daily For vit.-D take cholecalciferol sachet weekly for 6 weeks. This solution is for now but it wont be permanent. For a permanent solution your thyroid problem needs to be treated and that is POSSIBLE with HOMOEOPATHIC medicines; you will be cured and there wont be any need of taking thyronorm. Your migraine will also get cured. For this a proper consultation is required so that your case can be analysed and treatment given accordingly. For this you can consult any good homoeopath or me as you are in Delhi only. Otherwise you can make good use of Lybrate.

Hello lybrate-user, headache near the eye brows is most commonly due to some or the other vision problems. It will be better if you get your vision checked. In case you have spectacles and you are not wearing them regularly, you are bound to get such headaches.

I am 37 years old. I am suffering from insomnia for the last 15 years. I am using lot of tablets prescribed by doctor. What is the natural remedy?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
There issa reason to everything and so does your problem. It seems like you are into a habit of taking lots of stress and while taking medicines for your problem you have made things even worse.Just always keep onethindin mind that HEALTH is WEALTH and health once lost will never regain its original sshape.Yours iss an age to move forwad in life andit can happen only if you take things positively otherwise you will loose even what you possess.Stress is not the solution but try to find out a solution for your problems.only then it can be solved.Myself is ahomoeopath and I will surely guide you in this direction.Consult me and till then sstart following Bramari Pranayam for relaxing your mind. BRAMARI PRANAYAM or Bee Breath 1.Close your eyes. Focus on your breathing. 2.Place your thumbs in your ears, your index fingers above your eyebrows, and your remaining along the sides of your nose. Keep each pinky finger near a nostril. 3.Breath in deeply through the nose. First, feel the diaphragm move down, allowing the lungs to expand and forcing the abdomen out; then feel your chest expand with your collar bones rising last. .4.Use your pinkies to partially close each nostril. Keep your lungs filled. .5.Breathe out through the nose while humming. Note that the humming sound should originate in your throat, not as a result of your partially-blocked nostrils. 6.Repeat twenty times.starting from 5 times

Good Afternoon ~ Multiple Sclerosis (MS) can be a very debilitating condition and having had it for so many years and being on medications she may have had some discomfort treated, however there will be gradual progression and the epileptic attack may have been related to her Ms. I believe that I need to review her reports before I can give you any answer with regards to her physical health or suggest medications.

Dear Vishal, Since your grandmother is already having Alzheimer's, you can not prevent it. You can reduce its progression further by giving cholinesterase inhibitor kind of drugs. For you not getting Alzheimer's later, you can keep active life style, play memory games, eat healthy and exercise regularly.

Severe Epilepsy - How Surgery Can Help?

MBBS, DNB, Fellowship in Neurosurgery
Neurosurgeon, Kolkata
Severe Epilepsy - How Surgery Can Help?

The word epilepsy brings to mind visions of people frothing at the mouth and rolling on the ground. However, epilepsy affects each patient in a different way. This can make it hard to recognize at times. In the more serious cases of epilepsy, an epileptic attack can make a patient injure himself or develop other life threatening conditions. In rare cases, epilepsy can even cause death. Thus it becomes imperative to understand how to deal with epilepsy.

Treatment options for epilepsy can be categorized as medication, surgical procedures and dietary changes.

Medication
Medication for epilepsy is prescribed on the basis of the symptoms presented and the type of epilepsy the patient is suffering from. In most cases, seizures can be controlled with a single type of medication, but in others, the doctor may need to prescribe a combination of medicines to control epilepsy. These forms of medication do have side effects and hence any reactions to the medication must be immediately brought to the doctor's notice. The dosage for epilepsy medication may need to be varied with time. An epileptic patient should never discontinue medication on their own.

Surgery
Depending on the type of seizures and the area of the brain affected, a doctor may advise surgery in cases of severe epilepsy. Surgery can help reduce the number of seizures experienced or completely stop them. Surgery to treat epilepsy is of many types. Some of the common procedures are:

1. Surgery to remove tumor of any such conditions that may be triggering the epileptic attacks
2. Surgery to remove a small section of the brain from where a seizure originates. This may also be referred to as a lobectomy.
3. Multiple subpial transaction or a surgery that involves making a series of cuts in the brain to prevent the seizures from spreading to other parts of the brain.
4. Surgery to sever the neural connections between the right and left hemispheres of the brain.
5. Surgery to remove half the brain's cortex or outer layer

Dietary changes
A diet rich in fats and low in carbohydrates can help reduce seizures. This is known as a ketogenic diet and aims at making the body break down fats instead of carbohydrates. It can cause a buildup of uric acid in the body and thus should be practiced only under the guidance of a dietician. In cases where epileptic attacks are triggered by malnutrition and birth defects, taking vitamin supplements can help lower the frequency of seizures.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
