Importance Of Calcium In Building Bones

Calcium is one of the most abundant minerals found in the body. Bones contain 99% of the body’s calcium. Calcium is essential for good bone health. Bones are constantly being broken down and reformed. This process is known as remodeling. Remodeling involves the breaking down of old bone tissues and its replacement with new bone tissue. At any given point of time, 5% of the bones in the human body are being remodeled.

Calcium is the most important element for bone remodeling. This is what makes up new bone tissue. Hence, if the body does not get enough calcium, the new tissue replacing the old tissue will be weaker and low in density. This makes the bones prone to fractures. The most active phase of bone remodeling is up to the age of 20. This is when bones are being shaped. A deficiency of calcium at this stage can lead to skeletal deformities such as rickets and bow legs. Bones reach their peak density between the ages of 12 to 30. After the age of 40, the rate at which old bone tissue is reabsorbed becomes higher than the rate at which new tissue is created. Thus, calcium is necessary at every stage.

Calcium also helps prevent orthopaedic conditions such as osteoporosis. This is because it builds new bone tissue that is strong and thus maintains the bone density. If left unchecked, osteoporosis can lead to frequent fractures, bone deformities, and chronic joint pain. Older women are most susceptible to this condition because of the hormonal changes that occur after menopause.

Calcium is available in a number of food items. Milk is one of the most important sources of calcium. Vitamin D should be taken along with calcium to ensure that the body can absorb the calcium. Some of the other common sources of calcium include dairy products, green leafy vegetables, some types of fish, peas, beans and almonds. Eggs are also a rich source of calcium and vitamin D. In addition, children and adults over the age of 40 should also take calcium supplements. Women typically need a higher supplement dosage as compared to men of the same age. However, it is important not to consume more than 2000mg of calcium per day as this could be harmful to the health of the kidneys. In addition to having a diet rich in calcium, one must also exercise regularly to maintain bone health and drink plenty of water.

Instead eat home cooked meals with 4 to 5 servings of fruits and veggies. Have your dinner early and keep it light. Eat a protein rich breakfast every morning. First thing you should do is to get rid off anxiety and stress as those are main offenders in many. You can try any of the following methods. You can do squeeze and stop technique. You can stimulate your partner to maximum before getting yourself stimulated. You can deviate your thought to something nonsexual when you about to near ejaculation. What can I do?
As you are young and so there is still chances of gaining height. There are methods by which you can gain some centimetres of height. 1. The height of body is largely depend on the length of your spine (vertebral column or back bone in general language). So you have to add the exercise of stretching of spine daily in morning. Here are the exercises! * first stand straight bare foot on floor, then raise your arms upwards then raise your heels of foot with breathing in, try to stand on heels for 10-12 seconds and slowlylower down your heels back on the floor and breath outthe air. Repeat this exercise 5-8 times in morning. *sit on the floor, stretch you legs together so that both foot touch each other. Now raise your arms upwards together with back straight, now move your hands towardstoes of feet and touch them. Your forehead touching your knees. Slowly revert back the arms and move back arms in normal position. Repeat this exercise 2-4 times daily. You can privately consult me for understanding more exercises. 2. Bone growth depends upon the adequate intake of calcium rich diet. So take 300 ml of rich cream milk, 200 gm of cheese and 2-3 eggs regularly. It will definitely give boost to your bone growth. 3. Vitamin d play very important role in bone growth. So sit in sun rays for atleast 8-10 minutes in morning of evenings when the sun rays are notso strong. 4. The growth and height is controlled by growth hormone which is secreted by pituitary gland situated in the brain. So take meditation and have a stressfree lifestyle. Take 6-8 hours of sleep daily. For meditation, listen toslow and spiritual music, take long breaths for 15-20 minutes everyday. It makes your pituitatry gland healthy and working properly.

How can I get rid of my dark circles please recommend something I am only 21 years old.
Dark circles may be genetical, due to increased vascularity around eyes, low eyesight etc. Take a proper sleep, plenty of water; be regular in using your sunscreen. Avoid excessive usage of mobile/laptop. An undereye cream can be given to you by looking at a picture of your condition .Lactic acid peels may be helpful.

My daughter age 13 years is suffering from epilepsy from last about one year but it is diagnosed 6 months back. Is epilepsy fully curable and what medicine should we give to her?

Unlike previously thought epilepsy is curable now with medications which have to be continued for a period of 3 to 5 years. Medications depend upon the type epilepsy. Consult a good pediatrician or a neurologist.
