Apply aloe vera. With all its moisturizing action, aloe vera is one of the most effective skin soothing agents. When you rub the gel over an itchy spot, it helps reduce the skin irritation in that area and provides quick relief from itching. Just break a leaf from the plant, cut it lengthwise using a knife and using a spoon, scoop out the jelly-like substance inside. Apply a little of this gel to the itchy area and leave it on for a few minutes.

In Ayurveda, Charak Samhita describes eight different types of bodies that are disease prone. Out of these, the obese body is described as the one afflicted with the most diseases and troubles. Obesity is the condition or physical state of the body when excessive deposition of fat takes place in the adipose tissue.

Extra fat puts a strain on the heart, kidneys, liver and the joints such as the hips, knees and ankles and thus, overweight people are susceptible to several diseases like coronary thrombosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, gout, liver and gallbladder disorders. Chief cause of obesity is overeating, irregular eating habits and not following the rules of eating or mixing non-compatible food items in one meal.

To decrease weight and get rid of obesity three things must be kept in mind:
1. Controlling eating habits.
2. Regular exercise.
3. Avoiding the causes of weight gain

Diet recommended to lose weight

Early morning
Juice of half a lemon mixed in a glass of warm water and a teaspoon of honey.


Breakfast
Wheat or mung bean sprouts and a cup of skimmed milk.


Midmorning
A glass of orange, pineapple or carrot juice.

Lunch
Salad of raw vegetables such as carrot, beet, cucumber, cabbage, tomatoes. Steamed or boiled vegetables whole grain bread or whole wheat chapatis (indian bread) and a glass of buttermilk. Roasted cumin seeds, green coriander leaves, a little salt and some grated ginger mixed in the buttermilk.

Mid-afternoon
Coconut water, dry fruits, lemon tea, fresh vegetable soup

Dinner
Whole grain bread or chapatis, steamed vegetables, seasonal fruits except banana and apple.

Hello- you can get a fair skin naturally by following these tips. 1) change your routine. >protect yourself from the sun. >exfoliate your skin a few times a week. Doing manual exfoliation can really help to lighten the skin, since the process takes off dead skin cells. >be realistic with your expectations. Skin that is already naturally dark is very hard to lighten more than a shade or two, especially using natural methods. 2) natural lightening treatments >make a lemon juice rinse. >rub your skin with raw potato.

Dear, These are the causes of acne: • excessive sebum production (sebum is oily secretion from the gland). • Due to hormonal imbalance. These are the methods & instructions to avoid acne: • To control the sebum secretion you should maintain your hormonal level. Because imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum production and causes acne. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. •Drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. Clean your face 4 to 5 times with water. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. * Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Use a face pack of fuller's earth (multani mitti) with rose water one time in a day for seven days. It removes toxins from skin. * Take pieces of cucumber, crush them and make its juice then apply on face for 5 to 10 minutes. * Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day.

My neck hurts when I wake up in the morning. I sleep without pillow and we changed from spring mattress to ordinary mattress two months ago due to my neck pain. It is not as bad as it was when I slept on spring mattress but I don't feel fresh in the morning because of the pain. I usually sleep on my back than on my sides. No injuries.

Use cotton mattresses, as the last resort to your problem. You might be having axial neck pain due to spondylosis, for which you need to do neck stretching and strengthening exercises as advised by a good physiotherapist. Early morning walk in sunshine will help replenish your body stores of vit. D, a deficiency of which causes the body aches, lethargy and general fatigue. Take a diet rich in calcium and vit. D like egges, milk, non veg food, papaya, spinacha, ragi, soyabean etc. Hope this helps.

  3. Drink water a half hour before meals. One study showed that drinking water a half hour before meals increased weight loss by 44% over 3 months.
  4. Choose weight loss-friendly foods. Certain foods are very useful for losing fat.
  5. Eat soluble fiber. Studies show that soluble fibers may reduce fat, especially in the belly area. Fiber supplements like glucomannan can also help.

Good afternoon Dr. my mother is having Gastric problem and it from long years. Few years back we did Gastrscopic and after that with medication it was little better. But from last few years she has again started with again. Doesn't feel like eating any thing, After food long degree comes. If medicines of allopathic is taken burning sensation and vomiting occurs. Pls tell her to take aloeveera wt fiber 25 ml twice daily in empty stomach n drink lots of water. N do yoga n meditation if she is having stress related problems. N follow a good diet.In Ayurveda we are having good treatments for gastric problems.

Hye, Thanks for the query. To stay fit and healthy you need to eat as per what your body needs. Try to avoid long gaps in between meals. Do not fast for long hours. This will help avoid binging in the next meal. If you want to adopt a healthy diet includes a variety of foods from the major food groups: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, and lean protein including beans and other legumes, nuts and seeds, and healthy fats. Include foods you can find in your local grocery store  — rather than specialty non local foods. Local and seasonal foods always give us the right nutrients. Do consider your health risks if you have any when choosing foods. Stay away from calorie-laden, fatty and salty convenience and highly processed and junk foods.  Experiment with quick and healthy cooking techniques, such as baking, grilling and sauteing. Learn important food safety tips. Avoid unwanted stress. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Sleep well and drink plenty of water.

To lose weight, you have to maintain an input-output ratio. Whatever food you eat contains the input calories which gives you the output calories in the form of energy. If your input calories is too much, you are likely to put on weight. The best way to lose weight is to exercise or spend the additional calories accumulated in your body in the form of fat. The other most important thing is to eat wisely. Try to cut down the excessive calories you are eating and make sure whatever you eat is healthy. Some tips to lose weight - 1. Have more fruits and vegetables than junk food and juices. 2. Avoid sugar as much as you can 3. Exercise 3-4 times a week. 4. Have an early dinner, preferably before 8 p. M. 5. Do not starve yourself. Eat small meals 5 times a day. 6. Have barley soup in dinner and avoid rice at night. 7. Drink lots of water daily.
