Hi. thankyou for the query. Alcohol will not only interact with your medication but it will also increase your triglyceride levels further. Please avoid alcohol before it further complicates your condition. Just taking medication will not solve your problem. You need to improve your diet and lifestyle.

I am 39 years just wanna know symptoms of diabetes and hi bp and ways to lower them ?

General Physician (AM)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
Having diabetes makes high blood pressure and other heart and circulation problems more likely, because diabetes damages arteries and makes them targets for hardening (atherosclerosis). Atherosclerosis can cause high blood pressure, which if not treated, can lead to blood vessel damage, stroke, heart failure, heart attack, or kidney failure. You can consult me in private for detailed treatment which is available in biochemic system of medicine depending upon symptomatically.

My blood pressure is 137/85 right after a 5 km walk and jogging. Would it be considered normal or not?

My blood pressure is 137/85 right after a 5 km walk and jogging. Would it be considered normal or not?
You need to keep monitoring it on a regular basis at different times and check after resting for 10 mins. See the trend. Now a days it's considered normal ( ideal ) if it ranges from 110/70 to 120/80 mm hg. One cannot judge high or low by taking a single reading. Please focus on a healthy lifestyle ( healhty and balanced diet and daily exercise ) which will help you to keep the BP within normal range. If it goes 130/90 mm hg more often then you need to become alert and restrict salt intake and all junk food and packeged food ( as they contain lot of salt and preservatives ).

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details given, however, everything is very general. There is no specific information like actual BP readings, blood glucose readings (fasting & Pp) and HbA1c%. Usually antihypertensive drugs do not increase the blood glucose levels. It is possible that current treatment is not adequate. Plus one has to look at your diet and exercise too. Thanks.
