I am 50 years male. For the last 1 year I have a pain in the ankle of my left leg on the upper side. Sometimes it pains when I stand up and I become disbalanced. The pain also occurs when I walk and lie down. The pain automatically stops after some time. I do not have blood sugar or blood pressure. I am physically fit and have no difficulties in running. I do not take any other medicine. What is the cause of this pain? What medicine should I take or what exercise should I do?

Leg exercise kijiye daily I hope you will fit and fine Basic Leg Exercises The following Basic Leg Exercises should generally be performed 1 - 3 times per week provided they do not cause or increase pain. Ideally they should not be performed on consecutive days, to allow muscle recovery. As your strength improves, the exercises can be progressed by gradually increasing the repetitions, number of sets or resistance of the leg exercises provided they do not cause or increase pain. Swiss Ball Squats Begin this leg exercise in standing with your feet shoulder width apart, your feet facing forwards and a Swiss Ball placed between a wall and your back (figure 1). Slowly perform a squat, keeping your back straight. Your knees should be in line with your middle toes and should not move forward past your toes. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Lunges Begin this leg exercise standing with your back straight in the position demonstrated (figure 2). Slowly lower your body until your front knee is at a right angle. Keep your front knee in line with your middle toe and your feet facing forward. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Hip Abduction Sidelying Begin this leg exercise lying on your side in the position demonstrated (figure 3). Keeping your back and knee straight and foot facing forwards, slowly take your leg upwards tightening the muscles at the side of your thigh / hip (abductors). Hold for 2 seconds and then return to the starting position. Perform 1 – 3 sets of 10 repetitions on each leg provided the exercise is pain free. This exercise can be progressed by adding an ankle weight to your ankle for increased resistance.

Bladder Cancer Surveillance: Understanding the Challenges Associated with it

Cancer is probably the most dreaded disease of our time. There are many different types of cancers, based on the parts of the body affected. As the name suggest, bladder cancer originates in the bladder. It typically affects elderly people but can occur at any age. In most cases, bladder cancer is treatable as long as it is detected in the early stages. However, it has a high risk of recurrence and hence cancer surveillance is needed for many years after treatment.

There are a number of challenges associated with bladder cancer surveillance, such as: 

  1. Anxiety: As expected, it can be quite nerve wrecking to be constantly tested for cancer and have to wait for the results of your tests. A cystoscopic examination is one of the main methods of testing for bladder cancer. Most patients show both pre-procedural and post-procedural anxiety. To deal with this anxiety and stress try meditating or practising yoga. Going for a walk regularly can also help ease the symptoms of anxiety and improve your overall health. Connect with other bladder cancer patients who can understand your experience and fears.
  2. Adherence: After the cancer has been cured, bladder cancer patients need to be tested at least once every 3-6 months for the first three years and annually thereafter. This frequency increases for Nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer patients. Many patients prefer to use urine-based tests rather than a cystoscopic examination, but this may lead to more unwanted stress and anxiety and these tests do have false positive results at the time. Adhering to this schedule is often difficult and most patients do not strictly adhere to this schedule. However, this is completely in the hands of the patient. The more regularly you get yourself checked up, the higher the chances of detecting bladder cancer tumours in the initial stages and getting it treated.
  3. Related infections: Bladder cancer patients have a higher risk of developing tumors in the ureter and kidneys. Tumors may also develop in the inner lining of these organs. The risk of these tumors depends on the stage and grade of the initial disease and the response of the tumor to treatment. As with any other infection and health disorder, your food and water intake plays an important role in keeping toxins at bay. While there have been no proven supplements to help prevent bladder cancer, drink plenty of water to flush your system and keep it clean.

I qm suffering for back pain heavily how can I relief from that it's paining in sleeping and doing work also. Is there any solution to recover that one.

You are still young and can wait. If there is a deficiency that is restricting your growth, go for regular checkup for b12, iron, iodine copper. Apply cow's fresh butter on the areas. If nothing works, it might be hereditary. Later you can go for hair transplant.

Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. We remain seated most of the time and stand for very short periods of time. Unfortunately walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for Back Pain:-Along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight. Most importantly if you are overweight then losing weight is an important part of the whole treatment plan .Long term use of painkillers for low back pain is harmful Treatment for back pain:- Homeopathic medicines are very helpful. Looks like wax in your ear which has hardened. If there is no history of watery discharge in the past from that ear. Wax dissolving ear drops are available and can be used for some time. If pain persists and blockage increase see an ent specialist for proper examination and further treatment like removal or syringing etc.

We are parents to a 14 year old daughter and 11 year old son. I am in a transferable job and the family moves with me. Our daughter started her periods when she was 9.5 years.It was the time that she stated being physically abusive towards her mother without any reason or remorse. In the last 3-4 years her behavior towards her parents, sibling has worsened. In our last relocation 3 years back, she had problems in making friends at school for which we sought professional counselling, got her enrolled in sports and things were a little better for a few days.We also took homeopathic treatment to treat the aggression in her. One day we learnt that she has infatuation for a 17 year old boy at the sports academy. The boy was suggesting sexual advances towards her as we could gather from her personal diary. We could intervene and resolve the issue. We have also been meeting the school counseller off and on. During this time she was making use of the mobile phone which we had kept for use at home ( in place for the regular landline). Last year she pestered and forced her to buy her a smartphone.Our problems aggravated manifold after we bought the smartphone. Her attention towards her studies nosedived despite taking extra tuitions. She would throw her clothes, towels etc on floor after use and listen to music on the cell all the time.Her sleep wake cycle is also abnormal. She would get up at 12 PM on holidays. For last 6 months she is friends with a 17 year old boy of her school and has been chatting with him on FB/whattsapp. The boy is making sexual advances towards her while in the school( as we could understand from her phone). We were called one day in the school to inform that she has been bunking her classes. All this while we have been very supportive /sympathetic towards our child. The teachers have suggested that we take the smartphone back from her. But her behavior is so violent and abnormal that we do not know to head in which direction.

You have not only described the problem well but most of what you have done has been good so far. Let me explain what your child is going through. She has entered adolescence earlier by nearly 4 years. An unprepared child has to face the onset of puberty at a much earlier time and further she may not have had all her childhood milestones met adequately because her childhood has been cramped by those 4 years. Secondly, there will be a spurt in the production of the male sex hormone, testosterone, which has a duration of two years. Due to this chemical alone there are three identified features that present itself over which she has no control: she will be sexually active, aggressive and rebellious, and she will have acne and pimple problems. Then if she has unresolved childhood issues, they will compound the situation and fuel her uncontrolled behavior. Please remember that she herself may not be aware of all this. Now what to do? You parents need to become her best friend i.E. You must always ally with her and find the path of least resistance. Communication must always be open and favorable. The moment she hides things and does not communicate with you or you withdraw it, there is serious danger. Avoid all types of confrontations and discus your concerns with her. Indulge in her and make home a beautiful place for her to want to be in. Sports and games will expend a lot of the aggression and energy. Go with her and encourage her to participate. Yes, in all this she will get into relationships, which is not the crime. It would be grave failure on your part as parents to have not prepared her with sex education and strong morals that she could exercise, if they were present. Boys are also driven by these hormones and will want sex and put her under pressure to give sex in exchange for the friendship. You have to handle this very carefully, gently and always with abundant love. Some practical things to do: ask the teacher to confiscate the Smartphone. It is better if the school acts on this, than if you did ? again remember to follow the path of least resistance with her from your side. Involve the counselor as much as possible without disgracing her. Now this is very important: never give her anything without there being some negotiations ? barter with her, you give her something in return for some compliance from her. If you can befriend her close companions, especially her peers, you can reach her through them to influence her positively but it has to be done with strict confidence. On holidays let her sleep late, no harm in that. If she is going through a spurt in her growth hormone, she will feel unduly exhausted. Keep in touch with her school authorities always. Also remember that her lack of control over her behavior is a sign that she has a lot of impulses to contend with. I am alluding to this so that you should never provoke inadvertently that she impulsively does something serious to her life just to spite you! Your frequent transfers don?t help much either but then what can be done, if your work is shaped like that! The female child needs and wants a lot of attention from the male parent. Please be there for her at all times and let her know that too.
