My teeth are yellowish what I can do?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,
My teeth are yellowish what I can do?
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste until then. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Don't wait for pain in tooth to consult dentist.
Pain may be the last symptom of the disease began much earlier.
Periodontal (gum) diseases may be painless .
So consult dentist as early as possible to avoid lengthy and costly treatment.

The Benefits of Sealants

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
The Benefits of Sealants

Dental sealants act as a barrier to prevent cavities. They are a plastic material usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs most often.
Thorough brushing and flossing help remove food particles and plaque from smooth surfaces of teeth. But toothbrush bristles cannot reach all the way into the depressions and grooves to extract food and plaque. Sealants protect these vulnerable areas by 'sealing out' plaque and food.

Sealants are easy for your dentist to apply. The sealant is painted onto the tooth enamel, where it bonds directly to the tooth and hardens. This plastic resin bonds into the depressions and grooves (pits and fissures) of the chewing surfaces of back teeth.

The sealant acts as a barrier, protecting enamel from plaque and acids. As long as the sealant remains intact, the tooth surface will be protected from decay. Sealants hold up well under the force of normal chewing and may last several years before a reapplication is needed.

During your regular dental visits, your dentist will check the condition of the sealants and reapply them when necessary.
The likelihood of developing pit and fissure decay begins early in life, so children and teenagers are obvious candidates. But adults can benefit from sealants as well.

Teeth should not be used for opening cold drink caps kind of things, its not the function of teeth, such habits put undue pressure on teeth these are not good habits. Use opener from now onwards. And for bad breath as you have already undergone scaling and polishing follow proper brushing techniqe and healthy oral hygiene practice. Visit your nearest dentist for demo of proper brushing technique and other oral hygiene habits. Even then if problem persists make sure you are not suffering from any other underlying disease since few underlying disease can also cause bad breath.

If the tooth breaks, have the tooth contoured. Fill the crack in. Place a crown on your tooth. If the tooth has been badly damaged and the nerve or pulp is exposed, the dentist may have to perform a root canal to save the tooth. If the tooth has been severely damaged, it may have to be extracted.

DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. HOME BLEACH FOR THE TEETH Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

I need a full mouth denture (top and Bottom). It should be very light weight and with excellent fitting. I am a diabetic on insulin for the past 15 years.

BDS
Dentist, Bilaspur
Hello, since you are diabetic since last 15 years it may so happen that dentures alone may not work very well as bone loss is high in diabetes. Although in certain cases bone loss is nt much.If u need a light weight n good fitting dentures then go for BPS dentures.Though costly they r really good. Otherwise implants supported fixed prosthesis or implant supported dentures are other good options.

I am suffering with bad breath since one week. .what is the solution for this? Please advise. .

BDS
Dentist, Guwahati
First of all if you have any bad habits stop that, after that if there is any decayed tooth get it filled because food debris get accumulated there and also creates foul odours in mouth. After that go for chlorehexidine mouth wash 0.12 percent n gargle twice daily in a glass of water. If any further prblm consult a dentist n also get your toothy cleaned.
