For long term success and to keep you feel good along the way; we are running down a series of articles to help you lose and stay slim! Let's start with eating smart!

Eat Smart to Lose Weight after Pregnancy


Since your body needs abundant rest and nutrition to recover from delivery and labor, to fend off infection and to feed your baby, you shouldn't start dieting until you are permitted by your doctor. Make sure you're still consuming enough calories if you are breastfeeding otherwise your body will stop producing milk. Even if you're not nursing, crash dieting can slow down your metabolism, making it tough to lose pounds in the long run.

Regardless of a particular diet plan, follow below tips for weight loss postpartum:

Check your Portions and Have a Balanced Diet. Take small meals and only when you are hungry. You need to have a balanced diet fulfilling all your daily nutrient requirements. Your diet must comprise adequate amount of carbohydrates, proteins, the necessary fatty acids, and fibers. The meal should include seasonal fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy foodstuffs, fish, lean meat and omega acids. Whole grains, cereals, and nuts are full of proteins and good fats. Consider, you need to eat healthy, but not much. The food you eat will provide nutrition to your child through breastfeeding.

Nutritive snacks. No junk and fast food. Have some fruits, a fruit drink, oat cookies, nuts or soaked grams for munching.

Boost up your water intake. Ten to twelve glasses of water per day will help you to cut down on weight effectively. Further, add lemon or squeeze in the seasonal fruit juice. Avoid adding salt as salt leads to water retention in the body.

Avoid Packed 'Non-Fat' or 'Low-Fat' Food. These packaged items are loaded with high calories.

Do not start dieting strictly. If you can exercise with a healthy diet, it will further help you weight loss.

Dear lybrate user. Please don't use any such product without the proper prescription from a gynecologist. There are many household methods like papaya. Pine apple, vitamin c, seasame seeds etc which helps in abortion. Still you should consult a gynecologist. Take care.

Hi This type of phases come in females. But they are transient. You should take her out to enjoy initially without demanding for sex. Then you can discuss with her about her problem with it and try to solve it. It is not because of thyroid problem.

If you have taken contraceptive pills within 72 hours of intercourse, then there is hardly any chance you get pregnant. If you miss your next periods and have symptoms like nausea or pain in abdomen you may go for urine pregnancy test and consult gynaecologist near you.

there is little chance of transmission to the partner if you are in monogamous relationship. avoid sharing shavers toothbrush etc,and also get your virus load checked you may require medicine to decrease load

Mostly this pain due to lack circulation of blood in uterus. Do some yoga like kapalbhati,suryanamaskar,butterfly.. Don't eat junk food especially during periods. Aloevera juice+ amla juice will be helpful.

Type 2 diabetes is caused due to high blood sugar levels in the body resulting from an inability to utilise insulin (hormone produced by the pancreas). One can easily prevent diabetes by effectively controlling its various risk factors such as smoking, obesity and inactive lifestyle. 

Heart disease:
The most common cause of heart disease is increased levels of cholesterol (LDL – low density lipoprotein) and triglycerides in the body. Consumption of processed foods and junk foods, smoking and drinking coupled with a lack of exercise is the main reason why an increasing number of people, including younger adults are suffering from heart diseases. 

Hypertension:
More than 100 million individuals living in India suffer from hypertension or high blood pressure. The increased blood pressure levels (more than 120/80 mm Hg) in the body are caused mainly due to increased intake of salt, high stress levels and obesity. People suffering from hypertension are at increased risk of other health complications like diabetes and heart disease. 

Obesity:

All causes of lifestyle disease can be prevented through giving up smoking and other drugs, reducing ones intake of alcohol, processed meats (like bacon and sausages), red meats (like pork, beef and lamb), fatty foods and by engaging in daily exercise.

Firstly, at 6 wks pregnancy position of baby doesn't matter. You ars having spotting and pain also, these are signs of threatened abortion but as baby's heartbeat is normal, take medicines as prescribed to you by your doctor, take rest also, there are good chances that you will be ok.
