I am having restless legs syndrome. Legs do pain if I dont fold them for long. I smoke and drink. I am a non veg. What should I do'

Stop smoking & alcohol rule out high blood pressure or any other kidney problem do hot fomentation keep a pillow under the legs at night &/when resting. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do knee exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. You will need other supportive medicines also. Do reply back for private consultation. And detailed treatment plan. Don? t ignore. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I'm 21 years old male. I'm suffering from nerve pain in my leg, hand, head. What is the cause? What should I do?

It could be due to excess physical exertion. Check your hemoglobin. take one tablet of Neurobion forte daily for 2 weeks and one tablet of paracetamol 500mg sos after food upto a maximum of 3 tablets per day for 2-3 days.drink plenty of water and take rest. if no relief, consult for further advice

I am 20 years old n you hv a pain in my left shoulder frm past 3 months. I dnt knw wat to do its really very painful whenever I lift my left hand up it starts get paining.

Advice. Regular stretching of shoulder muscles. Warm up and cool down is a must. Hot fomentation. Postural correction. Shoulder shrugs. Use cervical pillow.

avoid direct bending firstly bend ur knee then u . second do hot fermentation and rest . avoid long sitting toward bending lifting weight. posture correction must. if it work then OK otherwise physiotherapy treatment

Hello Sir, I am 25 years old and suffering from severe pain in the joints of my both knees and the pain spreads from the knee joints up to the anklets of my feet. I am suffering from this problem since I was 8 years old and day by day, the pain is increasing causing sleepless nights for me. Please suggest me some way how to get rid of this pain permanently.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

I used to sit on chair for a long time everyday that's why I feel some pain in my back. Tell me how can I take a precaution so I will not feel pain.

Long sitting hours can fatigue the back muscles. You need to strengthen your back muscles so they are able to take the load of your spine. Take breaks while sitting. Get up and do some back stretches. Walk around your work area. Learn back exercises from a physiotherapist and do them. Also you can do hot fomentation which would decrease the pain.

My mother has trouble walking, but she refuses to get a walker or cane. I worry about her. How can I convince her to get some sort of walking aid?

Tell her that remaining immobile would lead to osteoporosis and further weaken her bones. Also the muscles can atrophy over a period of time if not put to use. All of this would make her feel even more tired and this would precipitate a vicious cycle. Hope this helps.

At this age age related degenerative changes starts in the knees. Avoid Squatting, Stairs climbing up and down, jogging, jumping and running. Consult with a good Physiotherapist nearby and learn exercises to strengthen the thigh muscles and maintain flexibility of knee joint. Check vitamin D3 level through blood test. Try to keep your body weight in normal scale as per your height and age.

Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

I have back pain and Even pain in my right leg. I masturbate every alternate day. Does masturbation cause pain. I even sleep facing my chest on the bed and leg upside down does it cause back pain or there is problem with my bed. Also I smoke 4 to 5 cigarette a day. I am 45 years old man and having burning sensation at back of right thigh while driving, seating for long time in office.

This could be due to lumbar spondylosis with nerve root compression. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos you will need other supportive medicines also. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Take medicines as prescribed it may have to be further investigated.

There are no. Of reasons behind this but most common is cervical spondylitis ( cause may be bad posture, Low back pain, bad siting habits Or old injury), It is curable , please consult a good physio, you need manipulative therapy and some postural exercises and you will get rid of it for ever.

Body weight is directly responsible for knee pain when we stand, our knee take 4 times the body weight, when we walk fast or climb stairs it may reach upto 8 times the body weight so you are advised to reduce your weight as soon as possible avoid sitting on floor or climbing stairs.
