Dear Lybrateuser, - For bad smell from mouth it is important to maintain proper oral hygiene - get check up done by dentist & get the cavities filled up by the dentist, also if there is any gap in between teeth where food gets stuck & plaque has formed - also to regularly maintain oral hygiene brush teeth twice a day, do flossing & tongue cleaning (especially back of the tongue) 1-2 times a day, do Listerine solution gargles (as per instruction on label) once a day - avoid fried, spicy, fat containing foods, avoid smoking if you do - have plenty of oral fluids including 7-8 glasses of water for proper hydration as dryness of mouth is also a very important factor for foul smell, you can also chew non sugary gum to keep mouth cavity moist - sometimes improper digestion & gastrointestinal issues are also responsible for the condition.

Gums bleeding and pain bleeding accumulate in sleep and during spit it appears any remedy pl suggest.
Bleeding from gums is due to the swelling of gums and the reason behind it is mostly plaque or tarter deposits. Scaling is the treatment for that which can be done by any dentist near you. Go for it to cure it fast.

Hello, yellow teeth could be because of deposits on your tooth surface. Visit a dentist and get your scaling and polishing done. Brush twice daily, floss regularly. You can avoid it by rinsing after every 1-2 hours.

Hi, you need to get a professional cleaning done. If that does not help then you may go for teeth whitening.

Sensitive Teeth

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Is the taste of ice cream or a sip of hot coffee sometimes a painful experience for you? Does brushing or flossing make you cry out occasionally? If so, you may have sensitive teeth.
Possible causes include:
• Tooth decay (cavities)
• Fractured teeth
• Worn fillings
• Gum disease
• Worn tooth enamel
• Exposed tooth root
In healthy teeth, a layer of enamel protects the crowns (the part above the gum line )of your teeth. Under the gum line a layer called cementum protects the tooth root. Underneath both the enamel and the cementum is dentin.
Dentin is less dense than enamel and cementum and contains microscopic tubules (small hollow tubes or canals). When dentin loses its protective covering of enamel or cementum these tubules allow heat and cold or acidic or sticky foods to reach the nerves and cells inside the tooth. Dentin may also be exposed when gums recede. The result can be hypersensitivity.
Sensitive teeth can be treated. The type of treatment will depend on what is causing the sensitivity. Your dentist may suggest one of a variety of treatments:
• Desensitizing toothpaste. This contains compounds that help block transmission of sensation from the tooth surface to the nerve, and usually requires several applications before the sensitivity is reduced.
• Fluoride gel. An in-office technique which strengthens tooth enamel and reduces the transmission of sensations.
• A crown, inlay or bonding. These may be used to correct a flaw or decay that results in sensitivity.
• Surgical gum graft. If gum tissue has been lost from the root, this will protect the root and reduce sensitivity.
• Root canal. If sensitivity is severe and persistent and cannot be treated by other means, your dentist may recommend this treatment to eliminate the problem.
Proper oral hygiene is the key to preventing sensitive-tooth pain. Ask your dentist if you have any questions about your daily oral hygiene routine or concerns about tooth sensitivity.
