Iam under stress for the past 1 week. Its my exam time. I want to concentrate in my studies. What to do?

The proverbial exam fever is capable of causing a lot of stress. Stress is not a good indicator for studies. Because of your age you may have hormonal imbalances which may impact your memory because of the chemical but also the distractions that come with it. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too.

1. Start some sports activities like basketball or volleyball 2. Exercise regularly but no weight lifting 3. Take more milk products as they r good source of natural calcium 4. Plenty of fruits & fluids 5. Take dry fruits in limited amount 6. Avoid any medication.

Hello Dr. Im 23 working women I'm very thin my height is 5 3' and weight is just 40 kg i'm unable to put on some weight due to busy schedule please help me how can I put some weight.

Your diet should be rich in proteins and carbohydrates i. E dairy products, non-veg, fruits (banana, dates, mango, anzeer) go for gym for 1 hour everyday.

Coconut oil has several benefits for your hair. Not only does it promote hair growth, but also conditions it. It has essential fats, minerals and proteins which reduce hair breakage and is also rich in potassium and iron. You can use coconut oil or milk to prevent hair fall. Steps: warm a bit of coconut oil and massage it from your hair root to tip. Wash after one hour. Or, grate a coconut and squeeze out its milk by mixing in a little water. Apply it on the area where you notice thinning or balding. Let it stay overnight and wash off the next morning.

My younger brother has always saying that someone is tracking me. Is this caused by depression.

Feeling that" someone is tacking me" could be a kind of suspicion that someone is against him and trying to harm him. The level of suspicion along with any other forms of symptoms may help in clinching the diagnosis. This does not seem to be classically a symptom of depression.

Do we loose important nutrition because of masturbation? Or masturbation enhances hair fall?

Consuming Nicotine, Alcohol, Caffeine and Sugar can result in lowering of nutrient level your body drastically. This can lead to hair loss and high androgen production because of increase in adrenal levels in your body .

Overall weight loss via diet & lifestyle modifications will help you lose belly fat too: 1. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs interval instead of 3-4 large meals only. In between balanced main meals-(comprising of a whole grain, whole legume/egg/fish/chicken, low fat dairy, whole fruits, vegetables, salad); include healthy snacks in between- coconut water (w/o cream), whole fruit, makhana, roasted chana (unsalted), nuts & oilseeds, soup, stew, buttermilk, salted lassi, green tea. 2. Drink 3 litres water daily 3. Avoid junk, fried, processed, preserved, sugary foods & drinks, alcohol. 4. Replace simple carbs (sugar, jaggery, honey, maida, sago, cornflour, arrowroot flour, potato, biscuit, cake, white rice, white bread) with complex carbs (whole fruits, vegetables, salads, whole grains-atta, dalia, suji, oats, millets, barley, brown rice, atta bread, quinoa, whole legumes-sprouts, soyabean, pseudo cereals-rajgira, makhana, & nuts, oilseeds). 5. Avoid skipping meals 6. Have early & light dinner. 7. Sleep & wake up early. Have a sound sleep 8. Practice kapalbhati, deep breathing, joint & mobility exercises that you can do while sitting in bed. (daily 1/2-1 hr) 9. Cut down on total oil consumption. Have more of steamed/stewed foods.

You should go for 45 minutes brisk walk in the morning, do exercise atleast 15 minutes. Go for swimming, gardening, jogging. Take one glass lukewarm water in the morning. Take salad before meals. Drink more water atleast 3-4 liters in a day. Take frequent meals instead of 3 big meals.

U r having an ideal weight then why should you need to raise the weight. For better fitness go for walking for about 45 mins. Take good amount of sprouts and vegetables and fruits as snacks. Going to gym is not essential in your case. If needed, ask your gym trainer to give you activities based on your need.
