1. Do warm saline water gargling 2. Steam inhalation with karvol plus inhalant capsule 2-3 times daily. 3. Take viscodyne d syrup 2 tsp 2-3 times daily if you have dry cough or viscodyne syrup 2 tsp three times daily if you have cough with sputum. 4. If no relief, you have to take antibiotic and carry out investigations after consulting.

From my vast international experience -there can be no such magical outcome for any treatment modality. You are requested to keep this time line 3 to 6 months at least.

Hi doctor, I am not able to sleep properly since past week. I had a total of 20 hours of sleep in the whole week. I wake up in the middle of night and its extremely difficult to get back to sleep again. Even during the day, I don't get sleep and my mind is not at all active. It lost focus, concentration. I am taking too much time to think. I am having only avg of 2-3 hours of sleep a day. I changed my sleep cycle various times during last month. I had a lot of stress as well due to various interviews. Can you suggest me treatment.

1) have sweetened warm milk with jayphal at night. 2) apply cow ghee on soles of feet. 3) have a warm water bath before sleeping. 4) stop watching tv at least 3 hrs before sleep. 5) go to bed before 10 pm. 6) don't have tea/ coffee/ alcohol after 7 pm. 7) have early & light meals 8) go for shirodhara at a panchakarma centre near you. These all will help you sleep.

CONSTIPATION:is due to an incorrect lifestyle and irregular eating patterns, not taking enough fluids,sedentarylifestyle.Foods that are heavy and difficult to digest, as well as oily, spicy, fried, and junk foods are the culprits. Eating food in a disturbed atmosphere or in front of the television and being awake late at night all lead to bowel disturbance. Psychological factors like stress, anxiety, fear, jealousy, and sorrow also play an important role. DIET & LIFESTYLE ADVICE: Increase intake of fiber, especially fruits and cooked vegetables. An Apple or Pineapple/Pomegranate each day is helpful.  Drink 7-8 glasses of lukewarm water each day. Take daily morning and evening walks for at least 20-30 minutes each. Eat whole grains /nuts/sprouts and Muesli in breakfast Avoid refined foods like white flour, bread, pasta, pizza, white rice,or high protein foods like cheese,meat and cold foods like ice cream or chilled drinks  Take meals in a relaxed and calm atmosphere. The food should be warm and freshly -prepared, as cold food slows the digestive power. Take 30 ml/6 tsp of syp Duphalac thrice daily after meals with lukewarm water. Soak 3-4 dried figs after washing them overnight in water. Eat them first thing in the morning,

Take homeopathic medicine acid phos 1m/single dose (5 drops in little water) and revert after 2 weeks. The head should be massaged slowly with oil or shampoo while bathing or cleaning hairs resulting blood circulation becomes fast and the skin of the head is protected from dryness. Shampoo should be used only two times a week. Hairs should be washed with curd for removing dandruff. Spicy or fried foodstuffs should not be eaten. Dear lybrate user, -you should have a snack before exercising (about 1-2 hrs before exercise) like a boiled egg or an apple & a bowl of curds or nuts almonds, walnuts, peanut, cashews as it will provide you with the energy during exercise & also have something to eat about 15-20 min after exercise like a bowl of sprouts, salad or milkshake or paneer -donot skip breakfast, have 5-6 small meals rather than having 3 large meals as it will provide you with constant energy & you will not feel week -have water before, during & after exercise as mild dehydration also causes tiredness & lethargy -combine a carbohydrate food with a protein food in snacks as well as meals like have egg with whole wheat bread, yogurt with fruit, milk & cornflakes, oats & fruit, poha with groundnut -take adequate rest & sleep for 7-8 hrs at night, all these measures will surely reduce your tiredness.

I have tried welbutirin, with horrendous anxiety and insomnia side effects. Had the same reaction to zoloft and paxil plus sexual side effects. Then tried remeron which was good.

Tsh 4.3 milli units/ml is higher than upper limit (range 0.4 to 4.0mu/ml). Therefore, it is most likely you have the thyroxine deficiency. This condition can ead to a multiple of symptoms including hair loss. Our teeth play a very important role in the overall well-being, from appearance to nutrition to speech. Good oral and dental health is one of the most important aspects of overall health and well-being. From reducing infections to good overall nutrition, taking good care of dental health is has its rich dividends.

Taking care of teeth is not difficult, however. Inculcated early in life, these habits can become a routine and come with ease.

Brushing: Brushing twice a day to remove the food deposits and keep the dental surfaces clean will go a long way in preserving your teeth. They will be healthy, free of decay and will be strong and will last longer. Learn the right technique of brushing from your dentist and practice to get a good hold on it. Improper brushing technique can do a lot of harm, causing wedges in the teeth called as abrasions. Hard bristles does not refer cleaner teeth. Soft bristles are easy on the tooth and are equally effective in cleaning. Make sure you change it once in two to three months or earlier if the bristles are flaring. The dentist can also suggest, if you need to use an electric toothbrush. Also, use a fluoridated or sensitivity toothpaste based on dentist s recommendations.
Flossing: While brushing will help you remove food deposits from the surface of the teeth, flossing or interdental brushing is essential to clean the spaces between the teeth. This area is less accessible for cleaning and therefore, can undergo decay when food gets lodged in this area. Daily flossing or using interdental brushes help keep this area clean and free of decay. This also helps in keeping the gums healthy, as food lodged in between teeth can be a constant source of irritation for the gums.
Mouth rinse: After each meal, especially sticky or chewy foods, remember to rinse. If you cannot get a regular mouthwash, regular water is a good substitute. This will help remove off food deposits from the teeth and help reduce the incidence of decay.
Food habits: Reduce in-between snacking, especially of sticky or chewy foods. Include sufficient fiber in your diet to have a natural cleansing effect on the teeth. After each sugary liquid or juice consumption, remember to rinse or wash it off with plain water.
Dental visits: Visit your dentist once in 6 months for a regular check-up. If you are good at maintaining dental health, this visit may not last more than an hour, but in the long run, it will be definitely worth the time and effort.

Following these basic steps will ensure good oral health and go a long way in the overall well-being too.

Kayam churna's biggest demerit is that it has senna (sanaya leaves) which has habbit formation tendency in the body. Home remedy for chronic constipation n flatulence- bel's pulp (bilva, aegle marmelos)- 100 gm sonf - 100 gm isabgol - 100 gm cardamom (small) - 100 gm mix all well with sugar (300 gm)- store this granulated powder well. Consume 10 gm in morning before breakfast with lukewarm water. Repeat 10 gm at night after meals with lukewarm water.
