Avoid any cold thing. If consumed gargle with antiseptics or warm saline after it. During the risk season you may take antihistaminics and mast cell stabilizer combinations.

1. Does having diabetes mean that I am at higher risk for other medical problems? 2. Should I start seeing other doctors regularly, such as an eye doctor? 3. Mr. Lybrate-user, your questions make a big list, answering each of them in detail will be too much for me. Still I will clarify certain points. 1) having diabetes does make a person susceptible to many other diseases like cardiac problems, hypertension, kidney diseases, nervous system problems and eyes. 2) a person with diabetes has to get his or her eyes examined once a year for retinal involvement plus any other problem. 3) blood sugar testing should be more often initially (daily 2 or 3 times). Later when condition is stabilised, once in 2 - 3 days, later once a week. Once if the sugar is in good control even once in 15 days is ok. Plus you have to check hba1c% every 3 to 6 months. 4) there are many new medications available now, depends on what treatment is currently on. 5) total dietary intake has to be restricted to a specific number of calories per day, depending upon ideal body weight, exercise and sugar level. Sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries to be avoided. 6) exercise increases glucose utilisation, reduces insulin resistance, burns calories, helps reduce weight, improves fitness and well being. 7) your bmi should be <23 kg/m2.8) t2 dm is a familial disease, children do get it but it is a preventable condition. 9) diet is important because that is the source for glucose, fat and proteins other nutrients. Excess glucose can aggravate diabetes. 10) medication is necessary on all days till one lives.

Hello, you can take damiaplant, 15 drops with water twice daily. To ensure that the penis is strengthened in a hassle free way, olive oil can be used without any doubts. It will provide the penis with the nutrients to make it strong as well as improve the blood circulation to the region and thus keep it healthy and free from problems. A regular penis massage is required for this purpose.

Rice has higher glycemic index but you can have just a small amount like one cup if you need it so much. Or go for chapathi.

My friend has a gastric problem. Actually whenever he eats some spicy food or something chilly, he gets loose motion and it continues for some days. But when he takes normal food the same doesn' t happen. Is there any permanent solution to the problem and also is it related to liver?

MBBS, DNB (Pediatrics)
Pediatrician, Kolkata
First, its not gastric problem that you have described. Tell your friend to give complete detail of the problem. Then it will be possible to advice her. Also, it does not look related to liver, but not possible to comment with preliminary data.

I have a lot of hair loss. What are the prevention measures. Can you give me suggestions.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
I have a lot of hair loss. What are the prevention measures. Can you give me suggestions.
Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month.
