Hello, Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels.

It's better to start medicine Atorvastatin 10mg once a day for a minimum of one year and do aerobics exercise and eat a low fat content in your diet

I had bypass surgery last year in april month. Shall I stop taking medicine like ecosprin gold 10? this medicine is for thinnig the blood. Also, suggest me some exercise to improve my stamina.

Dear lybrateuser, -it is a fact that stress plays a vital role in bp & heart problems & a type a personality is at a higher risk of developing it -to avoid the same in future we have to take precaution in respect of our diet, exercise & stress management -avoid fried, processed, junk food, restrict salt, sugar, pickles, papad -do regular exercise like walking, jogging, cycling for 20-30 min per day, also do yoga, meditation, deep breathing for 5-10 min a day -read, listen to music, follow a hobby to reduce stress.

you can tab. thyroxine 75mcg according to your reports. take iodine -rich meals, banana, intake at least 8 glass of water in day. eat more fiber rich foods, coconut oil, green tea, tyrosine -rich foods, low fat milk, avoid soya - products, go for walk daily, do exercises---yoga.

Hello, you may be having headache because of stress/ refractory problems/ any ENT problem or may be Migraine Headache follow advises given below: You can take(If No drug allergy) : 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) 2. Adequate sleep 6-8 hr in a day 3. Get check eyes for refractive error 4.We need to go for ENT evaluation to rule out sinusitis 5. Get BP checked 6. Regular physical exercise and meditation and yoga complete history of your headache for further management like duration, severity, aggravating factors/relieving/ triggering/ associated factor to reach diagnosis consult physician/me for further management.

You sound like you could be in an unhealthy symbiosis with your parents and therefore the high level of fear in their absence. This may have contributed to the breakup with your last girlfriend. Your fear is now too much that your imagination is running wild and suggesting all kinds of possibilities to actually seem like you are suffering from a heart problem. You need to break the bonds with your parents and learn to be independent. You must meet with a counselor and work out your dependency needs. In the meantime, you could also attend a good personality development course, socializing course, attend a gym regularly and learn a lot of skills in relating to other people. You need to develop​ self-confidence and self-esteem too.

I am a professor by profession. I sometimes feel that i should be more energetic and active. i should act very fast and must have a strong, sound and healthy heart. I am a strictly vegetarian, never take alcohol or smoke. First of all stop smoking immediately. You need detailed checkup which should include ecg, thyroid, sugar, lipid profile and stress echo. Further treatment will be determined after the tests.

My blood pressure is increasing. What is the reason?
Dietary and other lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood pressure. Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 14 mm hg. This eating plan is known as the dietary approaches to stop hypertension (dash) diet. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and total fat. If you're overweight, losing even 3 kgs can lower your blood pressure. Strive for at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day. Plenty of fluids orally. I suggest brisk walking for 40 mins, 5 days a week. Remain stress free as much as possible. Take your medicines regularly. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.
