To treat low BP follow these methods: • Anaemia is a cause of low BP so check your hemoglobin level (Hb) if this is low so eat green leafy vegetables, beetroot and fruits like pomegranate. • Eat an apple daily it maintain your BP normal. • Take your meal daily do not skip meal. • Drink 8 - 9 glass of water daily. Hydrate your body well with drinking proper amount of water because dehydration is also cause fall of BP. • When you feel that your BP is low then take 2 teaspoons of Glucon D and add a pinch of salt mix it in one glass of water and drink it. You can repeat it after 2 hours. This will maintain electrolyte balance and your BP. You can drink a cup of tea. • Drink a glass of milk daily. It maintain your stamina. • Take a multivitamin capsule daily for 15 days. • Eat a teaspoon of gulkand daily and maintain your blood sugar level. • Do long breathing pranayams daily and do not take stress.

As per your description you must be having lumbar spondylitis, which causes stiffness in your back. You must take x-ray of your lower back (ls spine - ap and lateral view) correct your posture while sitting. Avoid lifting heavy weight. If you have constipation problem, rectify that. Apply medicated oil on your back and do hot fomentation.

Hi, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc and with no other associated constitutional symptoms like evening rise in temperature, loss of weight, excessive sweating at night etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. I am suffering from de quervain tenosynovitis. It just concerns me cause I feel like something is getting torn down inside and the part of the bone that is near the sheath is getting bigger. I am applying gel for inflammation and already put bandage to immobilise it. I don't wanna have cortisone treatment or surgery cause I've heard that it will be just a temporary relief and might worsen the pain after. Do you have any suggestions how to treat this? Cause I am really having a hard time at work because of the pain. Thank you.

Repetitive hand or wrist movements can make the condition worse. The main symptoms are pain and tenderness in the wrist, often below the base of the thumb. Treatment may include medication, physiotherapy or in rare cases, surgery. Treatment is generally successful when begun early.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Since your history is only 4 days duration: my advice is: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication which suits you ( but avoid drinking when you have taken medication), also you can add a muscle relaxant for 5 days to relieve muscle spasm. - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home ( no exercises, only modalities initially, once your pain subsides, then we can start with gentle back strengthening ex) - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs for local application ( 3-4 times in a day) - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings and traveling on uneven surfaces especially on 2 wheelers take rest for 3-5 days so that pain and muscle spasm decreases. Can sternocleidomastoid is the culprit behind my chronic neck n shoulder pain which I am experiencing for last 2 years after a neck extension injury? I have little herniation, stenosis and disc dessication. But doctors tell it is normal. It does not matter much. What is important is to stay pain-free by following a healthy lifestyle and taking care of your neck and shoulders. Please keep doing the neck and shoulder exercises so that they remain ( muscles and tendons ) healthy and flexible. Keep up the follow-up with your doctor for review and overall medical examination. You should also maintain a good posture through out the day. Do not sit or stand for long hrs as bad posture can damage the structure and bring about chronic pain. You can also take Homeopathy if needed.

It could be due to cervical spondylosis this is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days do neck & back (spine) exercises use of cervical collar will give you relief. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you will need other supportive medicines also. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Joint space is reduced in your knee joint. Start with Physiotherapy treatment. Learn knee exercises. wear knee cap. wear sports shoes. don't sit on floor. Apply volini cream before sleeping. Take calcium and Glucosamine supplement.
