You are most probably suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. In this condition the frequency and urge to go to toilet increases especially just after meals. Ibs can be caused due to many reasons out of which stress is one important cause. When your life and body are stressed, it can lead to ibs. You need to practice deep breathing and relaxation techniques. If your symptoms are not improved, you need to take prescription medication for a period of time. Please consult in private for prescription drugs.

Hello, Unless your body is not under a fat loss mode, taking whey supplements its just waste. Even if you need to take whey proteins, you need to ensure you are losing that extra fat from your body. Whey for some reasons is unfortunately used as an easiest weapon for weight loss, without actually having an idea how it really does to your body. Approach things with the flexible mindset and ensure you are just following a routine which is healthy, positive and cost effective.

If th nose problem is due to the deformity of bone and cartilage, a surgical option is the answer. A nasal endoscpy and a ct scan for paranasal sinuses should also be done.

I have loosening my weight so how can I gain as like past. please give me suggestion I'm waiting.
Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal.

Hi doctors suggest me home medicine to increase to fairness on face (like I wanna become fair enough)

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Hi doctors suggest me home medicine to increase to fairness on face (like I wanna become fair enough)
Everyone has a favourite face cream or treatment, but beautiful skin starts with nourishment from within. Older cells are constantly shed and replaced by younger ones and a steady supply of micronutrients is essential to support this rapid growth. Eat the correct balance of foods and you'll feed your skin the vital nutrients it needs to help it stay soft, supple and blemish-free. Eat your five-a-day Fruit and vegetables contain powerful antioxidants that help to protect skin from the cellular damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are caused by smoking, pollution and sunlight and can cause wrinkling and age spots. Eat a rainbow of colourful fruit and vegetables and aim for at least five portions a day. Betacarotene, found in pumpkin, carrots and sweet potatoes, and lutein, found in kale, papaya and spinach are potent antioxidants, important for normal skin cell development and healthy skin tone. Vitamin C Vitamin C is also a super antioxidant. It is needed for a strong immune system, radiant skin and helps blemishes heal properly. The best sources are blackcurrants, blueberries, broccoli, guava, kiwi fruits, oranges, papaya, strawberries and sweet potatoes. They all help to produce collagen that strengthens the capillaries that supply the skin. Cut out crash diets Repeatedly losing and regaining weight can take its toll on your skin, causing sagging, wrinkles and stretch marks. Crash diets are often short in essential vitamins too. Over long periods of time this type of dieting will reflect on your skin. Stock up on selenium Selenium is a powerful antioxidant. It works alongside other antioxidants such as vitamins E and C and is essential for the immune system. Studies suggest that a selenium-rich diet can help to protect against skin cancer, sun damage and age spots. One way to boost your intake is to eat Brazil nuts. Just four nuts will provide the recommended daily amount (RDA). Mix Brazil nuts with other seeds rich in vitamin E as a snack or salad sprinkle. Other good sources are fish, shellfish, eggs, wheatgerm, tomatoes and broccoli. Vitamin E Vitamin E protects skin from oxidative (cell) damage and supports healthy skin growth. Foods high in vitamin E include almonds, avocado, hazelnuts, pine nuts and sunflower and corn oils. Drink up Skin needs moisture to stay flexible. Even mild dehydration will cause your skin to look dry, tired and slightly grey. Drink six to eight glasses of water a day - all fluids count towards your daily allowance, but water is the best. If you work in an office, keep a large bottle of water on your desk to remind you to drink. Herbal, caffeine-free teas are good too. Try to avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, both can age the skin. Don't be afraid of fat Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats - the types found in avocados, fish, nuts and seeds - provide essential fatty acids which act as a natural moisturiser for your skin, keeping it supple. These fats also come packaged with a healthy dose of vitamin E (a vitamin many of us lack), which will help protect against free radical damage. Eat more phyto-estrogens Phyto-estrogens are natural chemicals found in plant foods (phyto meaning plant). They have a similar structure to the female sex hormone oestrogen and have been found to help keep our natural hormones in balance. There are different types, some are found in soya bean products (isoflavones), whereas others are found in the fibre of wholegrains, fruit, vegetables and flax seeds (lignans). Include phyto-estrogen rich soya, wholegrains, fruits and vegetables as part of a balanced diet. Opt for omega-3 Make sure you get enough omega-3 and omega-6 fats. These are essential fatty acids which mean they cannot be made in the body and must be obtained through the diet. You will find omega-3s in oily fish and plant sources such as flaxseed oil, linseeds, walnut and rapeseed oil. Omega-3 fats encourage the body to produce anti-inflammatory compounds, which can help skin, particularly inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psorasis. Go for low-GI carbs Eat plenty of beans, pulses, porridge and other slow-releasing carbohydrates. These release sugar into the blood stream gradually, providing you with a steady supply of energy and leaving you feeling satisfied for longer and therefore less likely to snack. Avoid high GI carbohydrates like biscuits and sugary drinks, as they lead to production of insulin, which may damage collagen and accelerate wrinkles. Don't forget zinc Zinc is involved in the normal functioning of the sebaceous glands in the skin (which produce oil) and helps to repair skin damage and keep skin soft and supple. Zinc-rich foods include fish, lean red meat, wholegrains, poultry, nuts, seeds and shellfish.

1. Excessive weight gain is caused when people consume more calories than the body needs—occurring most commonly due to eating a diet high in fat and calories, being sedentary, or both. I am 32 years old I have been problem of my uric acid increase. Please advise.

MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
Endocrinologist,
uric acid causes A high uric acid level can be caused when your body either produces too much uric acid or your kidneys don't eliminate uric acid rapidly enough. A high uric acid level may cause increasingly frequent attacks of gout, or it may never cause problems. A high uric acid level may also cause some people to develop kidney stones or kidney failure. And some people with a high uric acid level also develop high blood pressure, heart disease or chronic kidney disease, but it's often unclear whether this is a direct cause or merely an early warning sign of these conditions. Factors that may cause a high uric acid level in your blood include: Diuretic medications (water pills) Drinking too much alcohol Genetics (inherited tendencies) Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) Immune-suppressing drugs Niacin, or vitamin B-3 Obesity Psoriasis Purine-rich diet — organ meat, game meat, anchovies, herring, gravy, dried beans, dried peas, mushrooms and other foods Renal insufficiency — inability of the kidneys to filter waste Tumor lysis syndrome — a rapid release of cells into the blood caused by certain cancers or by chemotherapy for those cancers Also, you may be monitored for high uric acid levels when undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer.

Anything that is not responsible, respectful or functional is really unhealthy for you. You need to be careful because porn may provide great sexual entertainment but it also stokes the desire, which will then lead to desire-fulfillment and that will lead to impulses. It actually objectifies women and sex to levels that make you lose respect for them. Besides, the whole thing is dramatized to such crazy levels of performance (that is why it sells too) that you are made to feel grossly inadequate. It is really far from the reality, and these are exceptional actors, with some exceptional endowments and actions that you may even look at your own spouse (later when you get married, that is) with disdain or inadequacies that are most unfair. After you have been stimulated you are left hungry in your groin to want to fulfill your desires, and if not met soon, leaves you with that raging libido, and it can goad you to do something inappropriate. In essence, it spoils a very beautiful thing and reduces it to mere physical impulses. After some time you get disgusted when you have had too much of it; whereas natural sex will never cause that effect at all. If you have so much of sexual energy you can channelize it into activities, sports, games, and hobbies. You need to distract yourself when the drive is very strong in you, which may be so if your levels of testosterone are very high too. You need to socialize with members of the opposite sex and enjoy their company to experience the different aspects of a woman and to also feel the different aspects of sex and not get frozen in the carnal part of it alone. Sex has five different dimensions to it: there is the physical aspect, the emotional aspect, the intellectual aspect, the social aspect and finally, there is the spiritual aspect. The latter may surprise you but this is where respect and regard for women and their bodies will come up to help treat them with value. If you cultivate these dimensions of sex I am sure you will perceive women differently and with a lot of respect. Eventually, when you are into a serious relationship with a woman, you will truly enjoy the whole concept of romance and being and falling in love with the real thing: that my friend will be a different ball-game. Do not play with a poor replica of sex, and shy away from the real person and thing, which are so wholesome.

I am 47 years female with diabetes, hypertension and hypothyroidism. Have been taking medicines and vitamin/iron supplements for deficiencies. Now I have a question regarding a particular diet. LCHF-Low carbohydrate high fat diet is very popular for diabetics where they adopt 20% carb/20%protein/60% fat since we all diabetics have problem of carbohydrates metabolism. I wish to ask whether 20% carb intake is enough for normal functioning of body? Due to ketosis and ketogenic effect, where body uses ketone instead of glucose in absence of glucose availability due to low carbs, can such diet work long time and effective in lowering blood sugar levels? I have seen people adopting such diets and either use minimal drugs or even without medicines they manage their diabetes with this kind of low carb diet. Pl tell me how to go about it if I wish to manage my diabetes with the help of low or moderate carbs plus how many calories total I should take in a day as a women and with all these medical conditions with an almost sedentary lifestyle. What percentage of carbs intake is an ideal to follow for a diabetic with hypothyroidism if we take 1600 calorie diet? I read that too low carb intake can again damage thyroid.

Being a person who manages dozens of different varieties of diabetics daily, I don't believe in such fads. I believe a diabetic should have a sensible diet, regular & moderate exercise, relaxed, stressfree lifestyle, good quality sleep and abstain from tobacco (if possible, from alcohol too). All these "percentage diets" are useless.

Hi, Sir my hairs are getting grey. So what should I do to stop it at this early age of 24.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, Sir my hairs are getting grey. So what should I do to stop it at this early age of 24.
Hello. We can't make the grey hair turn black, but of course, prevent further greying! The causes of premature greying of hair are several. Here we have listed out a few common causes. Heredity is a major reason for hair greying Excessive use of tobacco and smoking Chronic emotional stress or psychological worries Lack of nutrients such as vitamins, iron, copper and iodine in the diet Medical conditions such as anemia, hypothyroidism, tuberous sclerosis or neurofibromatosis Home Remedies: 1. Add the curry leaves to the oil and boil it for 6 to 8 minutes, or till the leaves turn black. Remove from flame and let it cool. Strain the oil in a container and massage your scalp and hair with this oil 3 to 4 times per week before going to bed. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo in the morning. 2. Turn the fenugreek seeds to a smooth powder and keep aside. Heat the oil and add the amla pieces to it, let it boil for 5 to 6 minutes, add the fenugreek powder to the oil, let it boil for another minute and remove from flame. Let it cool and strain the oil, apply on scalp and hair before going to bed. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo in the morning. 3. Mix onion and lemon juice in a glass bowl and apply on scalp and hair evenly. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off with a mild herbal shampoo. Repeat it 4 to 5 times a week for 2 weeks. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Lycopodium 200/ once daily, Acid Phos. 200/ once daily and Weisbaden 200/ twice daily – all of them for 1 month. And a multivitamin - A to Z/ 1 cap. daily once for 1 month (as deficiency of zinc, copper and selenium can also cause premature greying). Use Schwabe's Arnica Shampoo and Hair Growth Oil. Revert me back.

YOu need to check your CBC and TSH for knowing if you are anemic and hypothyroid. We generally use the word 'stress' when we feel that everything becomes too much to handle - we are overloaded and wonder whether we can cope with the pressures placed upon us. Nowadays stress is a normal part of life. Almost everyone has some sort of stress. Constantly reacting to stressful situations without making adjustments to counter the effects, threatens our health and well-being. There are steps you can help you managing day to day stressful conditions and take to feel better. 1.Be realistic: If you feel overwhelmed by some activities (yours and/or your family's), learn to say NO! Eliminate an activity that is not absolutely necessary. You may be taking on more responsibility than you can or should handle. If you meet resistance, give reasons why you're making the changes. Be willing to listen to other's suggestions and be ready to compromise. 2.Shed the 'superman/superwoman' urge: No one is perfect, so don't expect perfection from yourself or others. Ask yourself, 'What really needs to be done? How much can I do? Is the deadline realistic? What adjustments can I make? Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it. 3.Take one thing at a time: For people under tension or stress, their day-to-day workload can sometimes seem unbearable. The best way to cope with this feeling of being overwhelmed is to take one task at a time. Make a list of things you need to get done and start with one task. Once you accomplish that task, choose the next one. The positive feeling of 'checking off' tasks is very satisfying. It will motivate you to keep going. 4.Share your feelings: A conversation with a friend lets you know that you are not the only one having a bad day. Stay in touch with friends and family. Ask them how they have dealt with a similar situation that may be 'stressing you out. Let them provide love, support and guidance. Don't try to cope alone. 5.Be flexible: If you find you're meeting constant opposition in either your personal or professional life, rethink your position or strategy. Arguing only intensifies stressful feelings. Make allowances for other's opinions and be prepared to compromise. If you are willing to be accommodating, others may meet you halfway. Not only will you reduce your stress, you may find better solutions to your problems. Go easy with criticism. You may expect too much of yourself and others. Try not to feel frustrated, disappointed or even 'trapped' when another person criticises you. 6.Hobbies: Take a break from your worries by doing something you enjoy. Whether it's gardening or painting, schedule time to indulge your interest. Exercise: Regular exercise is a popular way to relieve stress. Twenty to thirty minutes of physical activity benefits both the body and the mind. Meditate: Just ten to twenty minutes of quiet reflection may bring relief from chronic stress as well as increase your tolerance to it. 7.Take Herbal Supplement: Herbs like Brahmi, Ashwagandha, Mandukparni, Shankhpuspi, Kaunch are very helpful in managing stress. These herbs work on the brain and help relax you which ultimately empowers you to manage your stressful conditions easily. There are many herbal supplements available in the market that can help you. 8.Consult the Doctor: If your stress level doesn't seem to improve with above tips, it may require more attention and consultation with an Expert. Or consult me on Lybrate privately Physical symptoms of stress include: •Low energy. •Headaches. •Upset stomach, including diarrhoea, constipation and nausea. •Aches, pains, and tense muscles. •Chest pain and rapid heartbeat. •Insomnia. •Frequent colds and infections. •Loss of sexual desire and/or ability. STRESS CONTROL There are many ways to tame your stress and keep it at bay. Here are 20 tips to tame your stress today, and keep the stress monsters at bay. 1.Perform diaphragmatic or deep breathing exercises. 2.Lie face down on the floor and begin breathing deeply and slowly, with your hands resting under your face. Do this for five minutes. 3.Sit in a reclining chair. Put a hand on your abdomen and a hand on your chest. As you breathe, make sure the hand on your abdomen is moving up and down rather than one on your chest. If the hand on your abdomen is moving you are breathing deeply and slowly. 4.Try progressive muscle relaxation or “deep muscle” relaxation. Progressively tense and relax each muscle group in your body. Learn the difference between muscle tension and relaxation. 5.Meditate. Use visualization or imagery to help you learn to be one with your thoughts. Sit quietly with your eyes closed, imagining the sights, sounds and smells of your favorite place, such as a beach or mountain retreat. 6.Exercise regularly or take up yoga. 7.Consult a psychologist about the use of biofeedback 8.Make time for music, art or other hobbies that help relax and distract you. 9.Learn to identify and monitor stressors. Come up with an organized plan for handling stressful situations. Be careful not to overgeneralize negative reactions to things. 10.Make a list of the important things you need to handle each day. Try to follow the list so you feel organized and on top of things. Put together a coping plan step by step so you have a sense of mastery. 11.Keep an eye on things that might suggest you’re not coping well. For example, are you smoking or drinking more, or sleeping less? 12.Keep a list of the large and little hassles in your day versus the major stressful events in your life. This helps you focus on the fact that you’re keeping track of and managing those as well as you can. 13.Set aside a time every day to work on relaxation. 14.Avoid using caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, junk food, binge eating and other drugs as your primary means for coping with stress. While they can be helpful once in awhile, using them as your only or usual method will result in longer-term problems, such as weight problems or alcoholism. 15.Learn to just say, “No” occasionally. It won’t hurt other people’s feelings as much as you think and is simply a method to be more assertive in your own life, to better help you meet your own needs. 16.Get the right amount of sleep. For most people, this is seven to nine hours a night. 17.Cultivate a sense of humor; laugh. 18.Research has shown that having a close, confiding relationship protects you from many stresses. 19.Don’t run from your problems! This only makes them worse. 20.Talk to your family and friends. See if they can help. If these tips don’t help, or you’ve tried a lot of them with little luck in better taming the stress in your life, it may be time to consider taking it up a notch. A mental health professional — such as a psychologist — can help teach you more effective methods for handling stress in a healthy way in your life. Such psychotherapy is short-term and time-limited, with a focus on helping you better deal with stress. Remember — we do have control over the stress and choices we make in our lives. It sometimes takes a little practice and effort to put some of these techniques into play in your life. But once you do so, you may be pleasantly surprised at the positive benefits you’ll receive If you need any prescription please consult me as we cannot prescribe in questions session. Regards.
