Doctor say that insulin do not leave when is life if diabetes 350 to 500 not a proper position low or high in one hour low next hour high doctor not give a proper solution he says am not understand what is this?

M.D. Internal Medicine
Endocrinologist, Mumbai
If you have blood sugars in the range of 350-500 then you should not leave insulin injections. In fact your insulin dosage or type of insulin needs to be changed. Some times oral diabetic drugs can also be added. Some times diet/exercise failure /stress/infection/ thyroid dysfunction in the body does not allow your sugars to come under control.

My wife is a diabetes and she is having medicines to keep her sugar level under control. Of late she is complaining that when she passes urine it is not continuous. She takes 3 to 4 minutes, it is not with force. It stops and she passes it with breaks. Pls advise what is causing this and what remedy she has to take to get this over. Thanking you Salim.

Hello, Your wife is suffering voiding symptoms- that means she is not able to urinate normally- voiding symptoms usually include hesitancy in initiating flow- the patient takes a couple of minutes to actually start to urinate; she may also complain of intermittency- that is starting and stopping the urine flow; poor stream of urine etc. This could be due to a few reason 1) age related detrusor muscle (muscle of urinary bladder) weakness 2) urethral stricture, urethral wall diverticulitis etc (some obstruction in her urinary pipe), 3) some mass in pelvis 4) consolation etc. So, I would suggest you to consult a good urologist and take his opinion. Hope this helps you. Thank you.

Dearlybrater your aim is to reduce wt regarding food please take salad. Fruits. And any thing prepared by boiling, steam cooking or pressure cooking. Ie our rice chapatti and side dishes. Are ok avoid food prepared in ovens like cake biscuits. Avoid anything fried. Soft drinks and fruit juices contain too much sugar should be avoided. See eat well guide. Published by uk in the net. Dry fruits and nuts are also calorific. And limit to 4--5 numbers per day to reduce wt walk for 45 min daily covering 4 km is enough. You may develop joint problems if you overdo. But then you have to reduce your in take. Replace dinner with salads and fruits. Replace breakfast with some product from getrim. See net in this way you can reduce calories without loosing nutrients and reduce wt. May be 2 kg every month.

I have a premature ejaculation problem. Whenever im gonna doing sex with my partner I get too much excited before doing foreplay. And when I start to do sex I get down after 2-3 strokes. Please help me I am getting depressed.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Faridabad
If you notice yourself getting too excited, turn your thoughts to something distant, abstract and unsexy, such as math, rush hour traffic or baseball. Only dwell on it long enough to give yourself a short break from arousal, maybe 5 to 10 seconds, then refocus your attention on your partner. Avoid thinking of a topic that is going to make you stressed or cause you to lose your arousal entirely.

Does masturbating effects muscle growth? Or weight loss? And what happens if someone do not masturbate at all with tremendous Focus on their goals?

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
No it will not affect muscle growth or cause weight loss. Masturbation is a very healthy form of sexual outlet, do not feel guilty about it. Nearly 99% of men and more than 60% of women masturbate. It starts from adolescence and goes on in some people even till death. The pleasure (orgasm) from masturbation is said to be unique from sexual intercourse. In men, most of the liquid contains only water and some fructose and hormones. Hence it does not drain your energy. Many equate masturbation/ seminal fluid loss to lack of energy, impotency and so on. Many quacks, religious heads and pseudo healers also propagate the idea that masturbation is a disorder/ and wrongful behavior and instill fear on the mind of innocent men and women (we can see posters in train and bus stand, offering help for this behavior). Consult a psychiatrist, if you have excessive masturbation guilt or compulsive masturbation. Compulsive masturbation is when a person continues with frequent masturbation neglecting his/ her other work like education, job or social obligations. In fact masturbation reduces the sexual tension and helps focus on task at hand better.
