Inflammatory Bowel Disease - Symptoms and Treatment

Inflammatory Bowel Disease needs to be controlled in the initial stage only so that severe symptoms can be prevented. There are a few easy treatments that need to be followed for getting instant relief and quickest recovery.

What are the commonest signs of Inflammatory Bowel disease?

  1. Fatigue and fever: Low-grade fever can be experienced, which might invite fatigue, tiredness and weakness. Your energy levels will become too low, and thus you will lose your concentration to work.
  2. Diarrhea: This is regarded as the commonest signs of all, and it can be quite severe in a few cases.
  3. Stool with blood: If you find blood with stool, then it is a serious case, and this sign confirms clearly that you have got IBD.
  4. Cramping and abdominal pain: Ulceration and inflammation within digestive tract might invite both cramping and abdominal pain. Vomiting and nausea are the other two symptoms that are associated with the same.
  5. Weight loss: Your digestive system can get disturbed as a result of which you might lose weight on a frequent note. On the other hand, your appetite will get disturbed, and you will suffer from malnutrition.

What are the best ways to treat Inflammatory Bowel disease?

  1. Lifestyle change: Proper diet should be maintained, and you should include foods with low fats, high fiber and others. Non-spicy and non-dairy foods are quite suitable in this case. Smoking, alcohol drinking and other bad habits should be curtailed from the diet. Eat healthy and drink water in abundance.
  2. Surgery: Only for dealing severe conditions, especially ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease, surgery is chosen as the best option but this decision is normally taken by the doctor.
  3. Medications: Specialized medications are being used like anti-diarrhoeal medications, pain relievers, and iron supplements, Vitamin-d and calcium supplements, vitamin-12 supplements and many more.
  4. Home remedies: There are few commonest homemade therapies that can treat IBD, and they are meditations, probiotics, acupuncture, turmeric, aloe Vera, fish oil and others. These remedies are the safest of all, and thus no side-effects will be faced.
  5. Doctor's assistance: Without doctor's help, you will not be able to get the quickest recovery from IBD. Therefore, you got to visit the clinic regularly in order to get the perfect treatment. There are a few therapists who can help you to get rid of unwanted emotional difficulties. A support group can also be joined for receiving moral support.

Hello. Its all because of unhealthy diet and sedentary life. Eat simple food. Avoid too much spicy food. Eat fresh fruits and juice. Drink 12 glass of water daily. It reduce acidity. Avoid cold drinks. You can take little cold milk in acidity. It sooth stomach and gives relief from acidity. Start regular walk especially after having dinner. All these will reduce acidity. On night of 7-April-2016, I had taken Combiflam tablet along with dinner as I was having sever headache. After around 1 hour, I started having severe pain and burning sensation in chest area. Also, I started feeling difficulty in breathing. I immediately rushed to emergency room at a leading hospital. They did ECG and Troponin I tests (both were normal according to duty doctor) and then gave me Pantoprazole injection. Next day, I started feeling discomfort again after taking breakfast, so I went to emergency room of another major hospital. They did ECG, Troponin I, and 2D Echo, and then they also gave me Pantoprazole injection and sent me home. After that, I consulted a GP who advised me TMT and Endoscopy. Both were normal and he prescribed me Ganaton Total capsules. Since the problem didn't completely go away, I consulted another GP who told me it is Non-ulcer Dyspepsia triggered by Ibuprofen and advised me Cintodac capsules, Anxit Tablet. I started taking these medicines as per his advice and felt great relief. However, yesterday, I consumed some fried items and also had snacks containing gram flour. I again started feeling heaviness in chest, difficulty breathing and extreme nervousness. Again I went to emergency room and after ECG and Pantoprazole, they sent me home. I had never experienced this kind of discomfort earlier in my life. Though the doctors are telling its non-ulcer dyspepsia and that's causing all symptoms, I would like to know if any additional tests and required to rule out other types of problems (my TMT and Endoscopy reports were normal earlier, showing no problems with heart or stomach ulcers etc.) I usually suffer from lot of gas problems that don't result in burping and cause headaches. But this time, its creating lot of pain in chest area. I am 41 years old, Male.

Ways To Manage Digestive System With Ayurveda!

Ways To Manage Digestive System With Ayurveda!

The Ayurvedic body of knowledge relies on the rhythms and functions of the body to find the root cause of ailments. The digestive tract or system is one of the most important organs of the body. The entry and accumulation of Ama or toxins can lead to an imbalance in the way the small and large intestines functions along with various other participating organs like the liver and more. As per Ayurveda, the digestive fires or Agni also need to be produced in appropriate amounts.

So how can you understand and take care of your digestive system, the Ayurvedic way? Here's our take on the matter:

  1. Types of Agni: The digestive system has four kinds of Agni or fire that keeps it in working condition. The Jathar Agni ensures that hydrochloric acid is being produced in the stomach which directly affects the thyroid gland. The Bhuta Agni takes care of the bile acid formation in the liver. The Kloma Agni manages the pancreatic enzymes that help in digesting and absorbing sugar properly. And finally, the Dhatu Agni takes care of the tissue transformation in this entire process and region. A weak state of any of the four Agnis will lead an imbalance and food will not be digested properly.
  2. Doshas and Agni: As per Ayurvedic science, the state of your Agni and its strength depends on the four Doshas and the one that afflicts your being. In Vata and Kapha Dosha patients, the Agni will be weak which will lead to a 'cold' digestive system where the food will not be digested properly. This can lead to constipation in the long run as well as loose motions and gas. In case there is a Pitta Dosha, the raging fire of Agni will be unbearable, which can lead to acid reflux disease and chronic acidity as well as heartburn.
  3. Herbs and Spices: The use of herbs and spices while cooking can greatly cool or revive the Angi, depending on your Dosha. Ingesting a sliver of ginger along with lemon juice can help in warming the cold fire of the Agni, along with other aroma releasing spices like cardamom, pepper and licorice. Further, saliva and enzyme secretion can happen with these spices too. Also, these herbs can ensure that your digestion does not work overtime or create excess heat.
  4. Ama: Using hing to season your meals can also help in better digestion of food and less accumulation of Ama or toxins.

One needs to know the state of the Agni in the body and regulate the diet and routine with proper sleep and food intake patterns, for a well-functioning digestive system. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ayurveda.

Hello. Acidity occurs when there is excess secretion of acids in the gastric glands of the stomach. When the secretion is more than usual, we feel, what is commonly known as heartburn, which is normally triggered off by consumption of spicy foods. Here are some home remedies to cure acidity. - Skip the aerated drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead. - Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday. - Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity. - Coconut water is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity. - Drink a glass of cold milk - everyday. - Have your last meal at least two to three hours before going to bed. - Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals. - Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc. - Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals. - Jaggery, lemon, banana, almonds and yogurt are all known to give you instant relief from acidity. - Excessive smoking and drinking will increase acidity, so cut down. - Try chewing gum. The saliva generated helps move food through the esophagus, easing symptoms of heartburn. - Eat Ginger as it aids in digestion. - A simple preparation of lemon water with sugar can be sipped on an hour before lunch to reduce uneasiness. - Have vegetables like drumsticks, beans, pumpkin, cabbage, carrot and spring onions. Medication: Take Biochemic medicine - Natrum Phos. 6x/ thrice daily ½ an hour after meals.
