The reason appears to be haemorrhoids (piles). There may be a element of IBS causing mucus and bloating. But its important to rule out other cauSes of bleeding like ulcerative colitis etc. I suggest you to undergo a colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy. Treatment requires strict dietary restrictions as well as medications. Stop spicy oily and outside food. Increase salad fruits and green veggie. No alcohol/tobacco etc. Drink lot of water and sleep properly. For medications you can consult online on chat.

General precautions for stones: 1. Drink lot of fluids (keep urine colourless & urine volume per 24 hr > 1.5 to 2 liters) 2. Reduce salt intake 3. Reduce intake of animal proteins These three things are universal for any kidney stone. If you are taking calcium supplements for bone health, try taking calcium citrate preparation since citrate prevent stone formation. Take calcium supplements along with meals and not in empty stomach. Milk and milk containing products must also be taken along with meals to prevent excessive calcium absorption which can promote stones. However, regular milk/calcium supplement is required. Other things you should follow are: - Increase fruit intake (except grapes) - Decrease coffee, tea, soft drinks, nuts and chocolate

Gallstones In Women - Symptoms, Causes And Treatment

Gallstones In Women - Symptoms, Causes And Treatment

Gallstones are bits of solid material that may be formed in the gall bladder. The gallbladder is a little organ located under the liver. You won't not know you have them until they've block your bile duct, causing pain that will need immediate medical intervention, and even hospitalisation in some cases. They may comprise of cholesterol, salt, or bilirubin, which consists of red platelets. Gallstones vary in size. They can be as little as a grain of sand or as even the size of an apricot in many cases.

Women are more likely to develop gallstones than men. Read on to know more:

Causes: There are a number of causes for this condition, especially in women. These causes are as follows:

  1. Intake of anti-conception medication pills, hormone trade treatment for menopause side effects, or pregnancy
  2. Fasting
  3. Malfunctioning of the gall bladder
  4. High cholesterol levels
  5. Gallstones may be created when there is excessive amount of cholesterol in the bile discharged by the liver. This bile normally separates the cholesterol and helps in the normal functioning of the liver and other digestive organs of the body.
  6. Bilirubin: Bilirubin is a substance created when your liver wrecks old RedBlood Cells. A few conditions, like cirrhosis of the liver and certain blood issues causes the liver to create more bilirubin than it ought to. This can lead to complicated conditions like gallstones.
  7. Bile: Your gallbladder needs to exhaust bile to be sound. In the event that it discharges its bile content, the bile turns out to be excessively thick which causes stones to shape.
  8. Weight: Being overweight or underweight can also cause a malfunction which can lead to the appearance of such stones. The diet also has a bearing in such cases.

Symptoms:

  1. Fever
  2. A yellowish tint in your skin or eyes, which can demonstrate jaundice
  3. Sickness or retching
  4. Clay coloured stools
  5. Pain in the right upper quadrant of your stomach area
  6. Nausea
  7. Vomiting
  8. Other digestive issues

Treatment:

Numerous individuals with gallstones may be asked to go through surgery to remove the gallbladder. These include the following:

  1. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy: The specialist passes instruments, a light, and a camera through a few little cuts in the midsection.
  2. Open cholecystectomy: The specialist makes bigger cuts in the belly to expel the gallbladder. You may have to spend a couple days in the hospital after the operation.
  3. Without getting operated: If you have a mild condition and your specialist feels you shouldn't have an operation, he may recommend medicines like chenodiol, ursodiol, or both. These medications work by dissolving cholesterol stones. One may experience mild loose motions as a side effect. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gastroenterologist.

Hello. Acidity occurs when there is excess secretion of acids in the gastric glands of the stomach. When the secretion is more than usual, we feel, what is commonly known as heartburn, which is normally triggered off by consumption of spicy foods. Here are some home remedies to cure acidity. - Skip the aerated drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead. - Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday. - Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity. - Coconut water is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity. - Drink a glass of cold milk - everyday. - Have your last meal at least two to three hours before going to bed. - Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals. - Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc. - Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals. - Jaggery, lemon, banana, almonds and yogurt are all known to give you instant relief from acidity. - Excessive smoking and drinking will increase acidity, so cut down. - Try chewing gum. The saliva generated helps move food through the esophagus, easing symptoms of heartburn. - Eat Ginger as it aids in digestion. - A simple preparation of lemon water with sugar can be sipped on an hour before lunch to reduce uneasiness. - Have vegetables like drumsticks, beans, pumpkin, cabbage, carrot and spring onions. Medication: Take Biochemic medicine - Natrum Phos. 6x/ thrice daily ½ an hour after meals.

Dear Sir, Suffering from Perineal abscess. Operated once 7 months ago and it comes again. I have gone through a 10 day course of Sensiclav625 twice a day but still no relif. Please help me. Economically, mentally and physically it is notvposaible for me to have another operation. Regards.

MD - Medicine, DM - Gastroenterology
Gastroenterologist, Gurgaon
Dear Mr. lybrate-user, perineal abscess recurrence generally is difficult to treat only with antibiotics and may need repeat surgery. However if it is recurrence then associated systemic disease like diabetes, Crohn's disease etc are to be ruled out. You must consult Gastroentrologist for help. Please don't be disheartened for these things as it will add to frustration. We need to find further solutions and think positive rather than harming ourself with negative thoughts. Best of luck!
