I have little bit hair loss problem for fast 2 year. What should I do? Please help me.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Faridabad
I have little bit hair loss problem for fast 2 year. What should I do? Please help me.
Causes:: Genetic factors, family history, overall aging process, normal life variations including temporary severe stress, illness, nutritional changes, hormonal changes like those in pregnancy, puberty, and menopause may cause a reversible hair loss. 1. Chop some onions (pyaz) into fine pieces and squeeze out the juice. Apply this to hair and scalp and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse it with shampoo. 2. Crush a few cloves of garlic (lehsun), add in a little coconut oil and boil for a few minutes. Cool it till it becomes warm and apply it on the scalp with a little massaging action. Repeat two to three times a week for best results. 3. Take coconut milk and add a little water to it. Apply this to the scalp and allow it to stay overnight. Rinse this the next morning. 4. Add two teaspoons of amla juice/ powder and mix with equal quantity of freshly squeezed lime juice. Mix well, apply to the scalp and leave it to dry; then rinse using warm water. 5. Take some flowers of rose (gulab) add some water to it and make a paste. Apply it on hair and keep it for an hour and then wash the hair.

My elder brother is suffering from diabetes/sugar. What food is beneficial to prevent sugar.

MBBS, MD - General Medicine, FACE, FACP, FRCP (London)
Diabetologist, Lucknow
My elder brother is suffering from diabetes/sugar. What food is beneficial to prevent sugar.
If he is having Diabetes, merely food advise will not be enough. He must take medicines too. Food should be restricted in carbohydrate not more than 65 % of total calories. Direct sugar and sugar containing food materials should be completely avoided. There should be at least 2-3 hours gap in eating. Timing of food is also important.

Dear Lybrate user It may be an opening of a sebaceous cyst. The secretions of this cyst are foul smelling. The cyst needs to be removed totally along with the lining so that it does not recur. U can show a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon.

Sir, it appears to be a work related stress. Try to do regular physical excercise. And try to share all your things with your good friend who can listen to you. Still the same problem persists, then see a psychiatrist.

Does bathing with hot water everyday has adverse effects on hair? My hair is thinning day by day.

MD - Alternative Therapies, BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Does bathing with hot water everyday has adverse effects on hair?
My hair is thinning day by day.
Hello , Bathing with very hot water will stripe the natural oils from your hair making it rough and weak . Oil massage of scalp before shampooing is a must. Always use lukewarm water with shampoo diluted in water . A last rinse of cold water locks the moisture in your hair. Regards, Dr. Heena
