you can use cream surfaz-sn for your atopic dermatitis. and take tab. anti histamine regularly. and control your uric acid level with diet i.e. In high uric acid avoid few diets i.e. high purine-rich foods, milk products, protein foods, meat, dried beans, dried peas, mushrooms, whey proteins which are used in zym, alcohol, diuretic medicines. Eat balanced diet , eat banana, take amino acid rich diets, L- glutamine like supplements, whole grain, oats, green veg., low cholesterol foods, plenty of water in day time, Do test Kidney Function Test every 6 months to monitor levels of uric acid.

Dear doctor, My blood sugar is 111 (fasting) & 154 (random). It is possible that once I maintain my blood sugar in normal range, it will remain normal? Or I have regularly control it?

Mr. lybrate-user, When blood glucose is checked either fasting, after food or random, it only reflects that day's glucose level. One can not guarantee that same levels will be maintained every day, because our eating is different every day. The day you eat more, it will go up. If you take more sweets level will shoot up. To maintain well controlled levels, one has to have a restricted and planned diet, exercise regularly and maintain normal weight. Thanks.

I am 50 years old having diabetes problem for 12 years is there any effective ayurveda medicine for this.?
Hi, I am a registered dietitian, certified diabetes educator and a doctor (general physician) who will help you in your diabetes problem. Do let me know your hba1c value? also you need to provide me your daily food intake details. There are many lifestyle and dietary guidelines that can be followed: take high fiber prescribed diet which includes soluble fibre like apple, isabgol etc. Get more physical activity by prescription from a registered dietitian maintain a healthy body weight eat a balanced diet which includes whole grains and excludes all refined products like maida as prescribed by a registered dietitian, if you're overweight, diabetes prevention may hinge on weight loss. Every pound you lose can improve your health, and you may be surprised by how much. Participants in one large study who lost a modest amount of weight around 7 percent of initial body weight and exercised regularly reduced the risk of developing diabetes by almost 60 percent. I being a registered dietitian and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their diabetes problem. I will also prescribe medicines that will speed up the time to achieve your weight management goals. Do reply back for private consultation.

I am alcoholic diabetic patent for last 22 years. What effect can cause me in future. I am insulin dependent.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Hello if diabetes is not in proper control, it affects almost every system of the body particularly retina, kidneys, nerves and heart. Alcohol in excess adds to the problems. It gives extra calories without any benefits. Damages liver in turn glucose and fat metabolism. It masks hypoglycemia symptoms causing serious difficulty. Can affect your overall fitness. In long-term liver damage along with chronic complications of diabetes will be very bad.

You can take Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, for ibs:-you cut out such items as carbonated beverages, vegetables — especially cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower — and raw fruits.Fiber supplements. Taking fiber supplements, such as psyllium (Metamucil) or methylcellulose (Citrucel), with fluids may help control constipation. Fiber obtained from food may cause much more bloating compared with a fiber supplement.

since 2000 I am a sugar patient I am taking insulin but my glucose level is fasting 150 and pp not less than 250 what I do please advice me.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Diabetes affects all organs in the body? eyes, kidneys, nerves, reproductive system all are affected, infact, from from toe to hair. It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed.

Herbal tea with ginger is beneficial for thyroid functioning. In fact, beverages including coffee, tea, carbonated drinks and alcohols should be avoided by patients afflicted with thyroid disorders. In its place herbal tea may be an alternative option. Application of watercress's paste on the enlarged neck is also an effective remedy.

Mr. Lybrate-user nath, it appears that present anti - diabetes treatment is not adequate. There needs to be an additional drug or total change of therapy. Plus you also have grade 1 obesity with 30.67 kgs/m2 bmi, which also contributes to high blood glucose. Any operative procedure is under taken only when blood glucose is below 200 mg/100 ml. You have not mentioned bp reading. Are you doing regular exercise like walking for at least 1 hour a day and some muscle strengthening activity daily? in addition to tablets diet control and exercise are very important for getting better control of blood glucose. Thanks.
