Dear user. FERTILE PHASE is the phase of a female's menstrual cycle when an egg (ovule) is released from the ovaries. In humans, ovulation occurs about midway through the menstrual cycle, after the follicular phase. The few days surrounding ovulation (from approximately days 10 to 18 of a 28 day cycle), constitute the most fertile phase. So if you have ejaculatory sexual inter course from day 10 from the first day of period and to day 20, the chances of pregnancy are much more. There are many determinants of pregnancy. You should be sexually matured. Your partner should be sexually matured. The period of your partner should be in the fertile stage. Her egg and your sperm cells should healthy enough. Then her uterus should be capable to get conceived. If all these were satisfied, the pregnancy could be a result. Take care.

Foods That Can Delay Your Periods

Foods That Can Delay Your Periods

For most women, though periods are essential, they are not a pleasant experience. The bleeding is often accompanied by bloating, pain in the abdomen and thighs, weakness etc. that can make her feel uncomfortable along with mood swings and irritability. It gets worse if your periods happen to clash with travel plans, holidays or important events like a marriage or social function. Thankfully, there are natural ways to delay the onset of one’s periods. Eating some types of food can help speed up the menstrual cycle while others can help delay the next period. Here are some foods you could try if you want to delay your next period.

  1. Lentils: Lentils can help delay a period and can also help reduce the amount of bleeding. It also helps reduce menstrual complications. To benefit from it, you must consume a cup of lentils on a daily basis. Roast the dried lentils and then grind the lentils to a fine powder. This powder can then be mixed with water to form a soup.
  2. Lemons and Vinegar: The acidic nature of lemon and vinegar can help delay the onset of your periods. It also helps remove toxins from the body and brings a glow to your face. You could simply chew a slice of lemon to delay your periods or drink a glass of water with a tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar twice a day. This should ideally be had on an empty stomach in the morning and just before going to bed.
  3. Parsley: Herbs not only add flavour to our food but also have medicinal value. Parsley is excellent not only for digestion but also to delay menstruation. Steep a handful of parsley leaves in half a litre of water for approximately 20 minutes. Strain this solution and drink the tea while still warm. This should be repeated twice or thrice a day for approximately a week before your periods begin. Parsley tea may be a little bitter and to make it more appealing you could add a little honey to the tea.
  4. Avoid Spicy Food: Spicy foods increase the body’s internal temperature. This leads to the production of more oestrogen that can quicken the menstrual cycle. Eliminating spices such as pepper, chillies, garlic, jalapenos, paprika etc. from your diet can help lower the body’s internal temperature and reduce the production of oestrogen thereby delaying the onset of your next period.

Hello- these type of symptoms occur in females either due to fear of pain or due to lack of urge for sex. 1) try to focus on your wife's health and improve her health by using nutritious product in living. 2) increase the amount of dairy products in her meals. 3) drink shatavari powder with milk daily. 4) enhance your bedroom with sexual toys and porn films. 5) try to talk to your partner regarding her issue.

Hi doctor!
I heard that girl with thyroid has less chances of getting pregnant. Is that true?
Hello, Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism if well controlled with TSH maintained around 2 mU/L, conception is quite possible. Only when it is uncontrolled with high TSH, then there is problem. Thanks.

Hi lybrate user, if their is white discharge from vagina in pregnancy is normal provided that not associated with curdy white, thick, greenish, foul swelling, associated with itching. Pain in abdomen could be due to constipation or urine infection. Sometimes pain in lower abdomen dull aching is because of increasing size of the uterus. Please consult obstetrician if too much discharge or if it is not relived, associated with above symptoms.

It can be due to hormonal imbalance because it is only for the first time. Are you taking any birth control pill? .Everyone’s menstrual cycle is a little different. However, an average cycle is around three to seven days long. During this time, the amount of fluid you expel from your body is anywhere from 30 to 80 ml on average. If you notice that your cycle is lasting less than two days or is lighter than 30 ml than causes are hormonal imbalance, thyroid problem, underweight, stressed, birth control pill, pcod. Please go to a gynaecologist for check up.

Repeated operations within uterus lead to adhesions like a web ,it is called Asherman syndrome .Try IVF if there is no success despite so many operations. Adhesions can be removed by minor surgery.

Mostly with age the ovarian(egg) reserve may decline. So it is a good idea to plan a pregnancy soon after the marriage and consult a gynaecologist before planning.

Post Miscarriage Trauma - How To Deal With It?

Post Miscarriage Trauma - How To Deal With It?

Pregnancy loss could be devastating. Not only does it affect a woman mentally, but it also often takes a huge toll on her confidence. Post miscarriage trauma is a common phenomenon in this case. The range of emotion a woman might go through include denial, guilt, anger, depression envy and yearning. Although the process of grieving takes a lot of time, the first step towards post miscarriage trauma is to accept the inevitable and move on.

Here is a list of tips that will greatly help a woman to cope up with the loss:

  1. Take time: While listening to friends and family seems to be the best course of action around this time, your loved ones need not get priorities at this time. If you believe that clearing your baby’s belongings is causing pain to you, take the time to prepare yourself. Clear away the stuff only when you are emotionally ready to do so.
  2. Create memories: While a lot of people suggest to completely get rid of all the memories that are attached to the baby, it may not be a great thing to do. Studies have shown that creating a memory about your loss helps to heal faster. So go ahead and take a picture with your baby, plant a tree, take a footprint or christen the baby. Good memories attached to your baby will not haunt you about the loss.
  3. Take care: Do not neglect your personal health and well-being. Eat well, take enough rest, quit smoking and drinking and seek pleasure in your loved one's company. The more you embrace life, better are your chances to get back to the grooves. Following an old hobby or working out one hour per day goes a long way in the process of healing.
  4. Get your partner’s help: Being open about your emotions is a good thing to do. Express your feelings about the baby to your partner. The process of coping up can be entirely different from each other. What matters is to let each other’s feelings known. Your partner’s broad shoulder is your best bet to come out of your loss.
  5. Set the expectations right: Women often get cranky and irritated after a miscarriage. Speak to your loved ones and let them know about your feelings. This will help you to get your loved ones support you and let you heal quickly from your loss.
  6. Support group: It is very comforting to share your feelings with people who have already experienced the kind of loss you have faced. Sharing in person can reduce your pain a great deal. A spiritual healer or a professional psychiatrist can also play a crucial role in your recovery.
