Good evening sir. I got nalla bongu(black spots) on my nose. What should I do sir.
Hi There are many reasons behind dark and black spots over the skin layer. Some people suffer from excessive secretion of melanin over the skin layer, whereas another group of people suffers from the same due to excess exposure to sunlight. I would like to suggest you to take the lemon juice and apply to the dark spots, black spots. The Vitamin C in lemon juice works as the antioxidant on the skin and remove the impurities on the skin. The lemon has the capacity to lighten the dark spots. Dip the cotton ball in the lemon juice and rub the area of dark spots and black spots. If anyone has the sensitive skin, then dilute the lemon juice with water. Use this until you get the desired result. There are many usefull medicine in Ayurveda for Black Spots. You may consult me on Lybrate.

Hair fall can be associated with pernicious anaemia, hypothyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease, nutritional deficiency, diabetes, stress. These have to be evaluated. You also have to make a lot of lifestyle changes. Correct your diet. Consume plenty of pulses, legumes, sprouts, grams, soya and nuts. If you r nonvegetarian, have meat, fish, milk and milk products in plenty. Drink lots of water. Avoid stressing over your hair fall since dopamine released can decrease hair further. Stay away from chemicals like hair dyes, bleaches. Avoid straighteners and hot combs. Overwashing and overshampooing can make your hair fall. Wash your hair twice a week and shampoo on the same day. Use mild shampoos. Massage scalp thoroughly to increase blood circulation. Towel dry hair, do not use blow dryers. Make sure not to sleep with wet damp hair. Comb hair regularly before going out. Protect your hair from sun. Stay away from alcohol and caffeinated drinks like coffee and cola since they produce antioxidants which damage free radicals. Exercise regularly for it promotes blood flow and enhances healthy, shiny hair growth. Yoga and meditation help destress. Greying of hair increases with nutritional deficiencies. So, make sure to have plenty of milk, milk products, fish, jaggery, spinach, lettuce, wheat, meat. Have calcium and iron supplements. You need to get evaluation for autoimmune diseases. Don't use dyes, bleaches, steam or blowdryers. Avoid spa. You can to start with use brown henna. Avoid swimming in pools. Drink milk and plenty of dairy products to replenish calcium needed for tyrosinase. Include cabbage, broccoli, brussels, kale in daily diet. Have vitamin and mineral supplements. Have spinach and jaggery, iron in it vil enhance melanin forming pathway. Stay away from hairdyes, dryers, spas, bleaches and hot irons. You can use brown natural henna to cover your greys.

Hi, lemon juice is a very good for clearing the complexion as well as for controlling the oil production on skin, but don't use it as a face and on daily basis. You can use lemon juice on alternate days mixed with fuller's earth (multani mitti) or gram's flour (besan), both will help you in acne and clearing complexion. (do add few drops of rose water and rakt-chandan for more effect).

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, Pimples occur mainly due to hormonal imbalances which causes an overproduction of oil and cells inside a skin follicle. They block the opening of the skin pore and cause the follicle under the skin to swell and become red. It usually starts in teenage, but most of the time lasts into adulthood. Pimples can’t be cured, but it can be controlled with treatment. There are many over the counter medications available in pharmacy but you need to use skin products which are most suitable to your skin. Avoid taking anti-acne medications without knowing a skin type. Contact a dermatologist in your area to know your the cause of your pimples and let them advise you the medications and skin products most suitable to your skin for remarkable results. Treatment of acne includes medicines to reduce the outgrowths, use of skin products such as face wash, cleansers, moisturisers according to your skin type and a whole range of aesthetic procedures like peels, laser therapy to reduce the current outbreaks and clean the skin, extract blackheads and whiteheads and clean clogged pores. They are safe and do not harm your skin in a long run. To know more about which cosmetic procedure is best for your skin type, contact your nearest dermatologist today.

What appears to you like Dust sticking to sweat can actually be the piled up dead skin. Glowing skin surely works a charm. The key to achieve and maintain a glowing skin is healthy lifestyle, proper diet with adequate antioxidants and vitamins, stress management and exercise that suits your BMI. Medical supplements, skin lightening creams, regular use of sunscreen and External treatments like peels and lasers can help in removing the tan and dead skin and in rejuvenating skin.

Hello doctor I am getting pimples more on cheek I want to know which food I can eat?

DRCH, BHMS

Hello doctor I am getting pimples more on cheek I want to know which food I can eat?
To make your face free from acne you should follow the following instruction- do not apply any oily cream on face, even do not allow the oil to remain on the scalp all the time. Better to apply oil at night and wash in the morning. Do not touch the pimples all the time or prick them other wise they spread and also cause permanent scars. Do not use any soap on face, wash face with himalaya neem face wash. Avoid exposure of face to dust or strong sun light. Drink plenty of water eat nutritious food and at least one fruit dally. Take sleep of at least 8 hours and avoid stress. Stress causes over secretion of sebaceous gland which promote formation of acne. Apply masoor dal face pack [grinded masoor dal soaked in raw milk] on face once a week. Avoid eating too much spicy food and oily food. Avoid junk food. Take homeopathic belladonna 30, 3 dose daily for a week. But this is temporary treatment. For permanent and speedy cure from pimples you have to share your complete symptoms.

Healthy Aging: 4 Tips For Growing Old Gracefully!

MD - Dermatology, MBBS
Dermatologist, Pune
Healthy Aging: 4 Tips For Growing Old Gracefully!

As children, we all look forward to growing up, but once we reach in our 40s or 50s, we don't want to grow any older. Most of us fear the disabilities and diseases, ageing brings along. The biggest cause of anxiety is the change in the looks with skin losing its texture and elasticity. Read on to know some common techniques, when practiced during the early years can help in ageing gracefully, both by accepting the changes that come with ageing and by reducing the effect that ageing can have on the skin.

  1. Watch what you eat: As the saying goes, you are what you eat. So, whether you eat junk or healthy, your body will reflect accordingly. If you continue to give your body the required amount of vitamins and minerals, the effects will show on your skin. Include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, which will provide your body the required nutrients and antioxidants. Nutrition also includes a good amount of hydration, about 2 to 3 liters of water per day. It also helps flush out toxins that lead to accelerated ageing and induce stress.
  2. Exercise: While exercise might make some people tired, it need not be the case for everyone. A moderate, regular routine of work out for 20 to 30 minutes in form of walking, cycling or swimming, will have significant benefits on the heart. The exercise routine will also aid in weight management, bone strengthening, prevent constipation, improve blood flow to the vital organs and alert functioning. Get your daily dose of sleep: A daily recommended 7 to 8 hours of sleep can do wonders not just to your body, but also to your skin.
  3. Skin Care: Dark spots, wrinkles and dryness are common with ageing and these can be managed by reducing the exposure of skin to sun. Using a good sunscreen, wearing sunglasses or a wide-brimmed hat will provide protection from the harmful UV rays. The idea is not to avoid sun completely; little sun exposure is essential to get the required dose of vitamin D, but overexposure can lead to various skin problems. Also develop a skin care regimen including moisturizer, anti-ageing products, scrubbing, under-eye care and use of lip balm that would best work for your skin type.
  4. Lifestyles changes: Drinking alcohol and smoking may seem the right thing to do in your 20s and 30s, but the effects they have on your body are not right. Following a negligent lifestyle, can lead to conditions like cancer and heart disease in early years and can be worsened by smoking and excessive alcohol. Quitting smoking and moderate use of alcohol can help manage these conditions better and in some cases, even prevent them completely.

And most importantly, accepting ageing as a natural inevitable aspect and not stressing about it will not help you enjoy your later years but also stay happy!

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Have plenty of salmon, mackerel and sardine. Drink two litres of water. Have roasted flax seeds. Avoid alcohol and aerated drinks or they will dehydrate you more. Use loose cotton clothes. Skin care in Your 40s and 50s

MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Visakhapatnam
Skin care in Your 40s and 50s

Wrinkle creams, eye serums, and other anti-aging skin care products can help diminish signs of aging. To create a truly effective anti-aging skin care plan, however, it helps to start with healthy skin care habits.
The benefits of healthy skin care habits include:
* Prevent (or clear up) a blotchy complexion
* Retain skin’s youthful firmness longer
* Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
* Keep complexion looking brighter and younger
* Avoid leathery skin
* Reduce skin cancer risk
To help you create your own anti-aging skin care plan, you’ll find key healthy skin care habits below. Years of research supports each of these recommendations.
Anti-aging skin care tips
1. Protect your skin from the sun:Sun protection forms the foundation of every anti-aging skin-care plan. The sun’s rays make our skin age more quickly. We have so much evidence that the sun prematurely ages our skin that there is actually a word to describe this effect. This word is “photoaging.” To help patients protect their skin from the sun and other harmful UV rays, dermatologists offer these tips:
* Seek shade: Be sure to seek shade between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and whenever your shadow looks shorter than you are.
* Cover up in style: Whenever possible, wear a wide-brimmed hat, pants, and long sleeves. Gloves help to minimize common signs of aging on our hands such as age spots. Sunglasses help reduce fine lines around our eyes.
* Slather on the sunscreen every day before going outdoors: To protect your skin, apply sunscreen to all skin that clothing will not cover. You want to use a sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum protection, SPF 30 (or higher),
2. Apply moisturizer every day: As we age, skin becomes drier. Fine lines and wrinkles appear. Moisturizer traps water in our skin, giving it a more youthful appearance. For best results, use a facial moisturizer, body moisturizer, and lip balm.
3. Wash away dirt and grime twice a day: How you wash your face can affect your appearance. For best results, you want to wash with warm water and a mild cleanser rather than soap. You also should avoid scrubbing your skin clean.
4. Stop smoking: Tobacco smoke contains toxins that can lead to smoker’s face. Signs of smoker’s face include dull and dry complexion, loss of skin’s firmness, premature lines and wrinkles, and leathery skin.
5. Eat healthy foods: A healthy diet promotes healthy skin. Make sure you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats.
6. Get enough sleep: It’s called beauty rest for a reason. Sleep gives your body time to refresh and renew itself.
