Hi you are about 14 kgs overweight. Your cholesterol levels are little over the borderline but you can control it by diet and exercise. Even 10% reduction in weight can make lot of difference in your cholesterol levels. Family history of heart disease is not necessary. Eat 10-15 almonds every day. Eat two spoons for flaxseeds. Cut down oils and ghee from your diet. Avoid biscuits and pastries. And mutton etc. Cut down maida and white bread. Do 30-60 mins of exercise regularly monitor your cholesterol levels every 3 months. You can bring it down. No need to panic now but take care.

How Ayurveda Can Help You Prevent Heart Problems?

The modern age is full of tensions and stress, expecting peaceful mind and healthy lifestyle is just impossible. To prevent common diseases and living a healthy life requires keen knowledge of the main organ of the body, that is the Heart. The heart is a muscular organ which works like an engine and provides fuel to run human body by pumping blood. Our heart has two chambers which separates the oxygen rich blood from oxygen poor blood and each time you breathe the valves of heart opens and closes. There are many cardiovascular diseases that are caused due to the blood vessel and heart issues like lack of flexibility, blockage, fatty plaques of the arteries or lack of strength of the parties.

The modern medical systems suggest surgical treatment for the cure of the heart problems but on another hand, Ayurveda targets the deep root cause of the disease. The best cure for heart diseases is to adopt a holistic approach named Ayurveda the part of the great Indian heritage. This is not only based upon the ancient principle but many researchers worked and proofed that heart issues are reversible with the help of Ayurvedic treatment.

As Ayurveda believes in the natural ingredients for treatment, many remedies are available in our surrounding. Here are some commonly recommended remedies to prevent and cure heart diseases by Ayurveda.

  1. Triphala: To reduce the blood fat level and high cholesterol Triphala- the mixture of three herbs named Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki. This handles the causative issues of blood fat and cholesterol and keeps the heart healthy.
  2. Ashwagandha: This is a wonder herb to reduce tension from mind and body and provide strength to the heart muscles.
  3. Chaywanprash: this is the mixture of various herbs like sugar, honey, ghee, Indian Gooseberry (amla), jam, sesame oil, berries, herbs and various spices. Chaywanprash is an herbal jam which strengthens the heart muscles and boosts up the immune system as well.

These three are the most common and easily available remedies for heart problems. Other than these three garlic, ginger, turmeric, saffron, arjuna, guggul, etc. herbs which are good for heart diseases and provides a complete cure.

Your father is suffering from heart failure. Heart failure is a condition in which the heart can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. Heart failure does not mean that your heart has stopped or is about to stop working. It means that your heart is not able to pump blood the way it should. It can affect one or both sides of the heart. The weakening of the heart's pumping ability causes Blood and fluid to back up into the lungsThe buildup of fluid in the feet, ankles and legs - called edemaTiredness and shortness of breath Common causes of heart failure are coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Sometimes it may be caused by viral infections of the heart. The medication he's taking our intended to reduce the pressure on the weekend hard by reducing the blood volume & his heart rate. So keep taking the medications and to get regular cardiac check up every year to keep a track on his condition.

I have some problems with my bodybuilding now that I am heart so much with my body please do something ?
May be you are over doing it -both exercise and wrong food as supplements. Get proper guidance from an educated trainer. For heart get only basic tests done-ecg, echo, stress test, blood tests for sugar and total lipids. Get bp checked also. Get back here with reports & remember no steroids for bodybuilding.

Having a pain in your chest can be scary. It does not always mean that you are having a heart attack. There can be many other causes, including Panic attacks Digestive problems, such as heartburn or esophagus disorders Sore muscles Lung diseases, such as pneumonia, pleurisy, or pulmonary embolism Costochondritis - an inflammation of joints in your chest Some of these problems can be serious. Get immediate medical care if you have chest pain that does not go away, crushing pain or pressure in the chest, or chest pain along with nausea, sweating, dizziness or shortness of breath. Treatment depends on the cause of the pain. To rule out cardiac issues. We Get a ECG and 2D echocardiography done. If they are normal then get a TMT done. Pain on the right side of the chest could be due to muscle pain, hyper acidity, some lung issue, liver issue. We cannot give a straight answer to that because unless you give some more information we can pin point the ailment. So either come in private chat for detailed discussion or take him to a local qualified doctor for proper assessment and treatment. Good luck.

Sudden Death Due to Heart Problem - Is It Possible?

MBBS, MD - Medicine, DM - Cardiology

Sudden Death Due to Heart Problem - Is It Possible?

When the normal functioning of the heart shuts down suddenly due to heart disease or any other cardiovascular condition, then this is known as sudden death due to a heart problem. Every year, there are over 100,000 deaths globally due to this reason, as per various medical studies. Sudden Cardiac Arrest or SCD is a cause of death for many adults who may or may not be suffering from chronic heart disease. Let us find out more about this condition.

- Difference between Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) and Heart Attack: A myocardial infarction or heart attack can happen when there is a blockage in one of the arteries of the heart which prevents the passage of blood and oxygen to the heart's varied chambers. When the oxygen present in the blood does not reach the heart in adequate amounts and on time, it can lead to a heart attack. In the case of SCD or sudden cardiac arrest, the problem happens due to a shutdown of the heart after a malfunction in the electrical systems which can lead to varied irregularities.

Accelerated heartbeats, fluttering and quivering of the ventricles which are also known as ventricular fibrillation, as well as other similar causes can ensure that the blood does not reach the heart on time, which can lead to sudden death. The patient usually loses consciousness within the very first few minutes as the blood does not reach the brain.

Symptoms: There are a number of symptoms that are associated with this phenomenon. While losing consciousness is one of the first signs, others include a racing heartbeat as well as heart rhythm problems and dizzy spells. The symptoms usually take place suddenly without prior warning and lead to a complete shutdown of the heart and its functions.

Causes: The main cause of SCD is a condition known as arrhythmias which is basically characterized by abnormal heart rhythms and vertical fibrillation which leads to disorganized impulses to be released from the ventricles due to which the heart cannot pump blood properly. It can lead to death within a matter of minutes if it remains untreated.

Revival: On an emergency basis, the patient will have to be given CPR by an expert at the emergency unit of the hospital. This is a manual process of retrieving the patient by pumping the chest and breathing into the patient's mouth. Portable defibrillators can also be used to revive the patient in such cases.

Risk Factors: Patients who have suffered heart attacks in the past and have a family history of heart disease and heart attacks, are at maximum risk when it comes to SCD. Also, factors like obesity and diabetes can increase the risk.
