Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the question. The blood glucose levels mentioned are very high, showing uncontrolled diabetes. In such a situation it is essential to achieve strict blood glucose control, otherwise there can be an invitation to serious long term complications of diabetes. As regards alcohol, medically in a diabetic person alcohol should be avoided as it has no nutritious value, can mask hypoglycemic symptoms plus in large quantity can damage liver. So it is my advise to avoid it. Rest is your choice. Thanks.

This common ailment often happens because you swallow more air than usual, overeat, smoke, chew gum, or eat foods that cause gas. Flatulence can be embarrassing and painful for anyone, but don’t worry You easily reduce flatulence with diet and lifestyle choices. Have smaller meals throughout the day. Eat six small meals per day instead of three large meals. Your system may more easily digest fewer meals and produce less gas from them Eat easily digestible carbs. Foods that contain simple carbohydrates may be easier for you to digest Avoid gas-promoting foods. Plan your meals each day to include easily digestible carbs. Steer clear of food choices that may make create gas in your intestines. Find suitable replacements for the following gas-promoting foods Beans and lentils. Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts. Bran. Dairy products containing lactose. Fruit such as apples and pears. Sorbitol, a sugar substitute found in some sugar-free products. Fatty junk foods, like fast food burgers or pizza. Chew your meal slowly. If you're famished or you're a fast eater, avoid the temptation to shovel your food into your mouth. Chew each meal slowly so you don’t swallow too much air. Doing this can aid digestion and may minimize the production of gas. Get regular exercise. Physical activity can help your intestines expel gas and stay regular. Exercise for at least 30 minutes most days of the week. If you are unable to do 30 minutes, aim for 2 15-minute sessions of physical movement, which can also ease flatulence. Try different kinds of exercise to prevent flatulence: Running Walking Biking Swimming Yoga For medication consult online in private.

You need to take high fiber low fat diet followed by detox diet. Drink lot of water everyday. Take small and frequent meals at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs. Avoid outside food completely. Ask me privately for customized diet plan for you.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Insulin happens to be the best treatment for diabetes, because diabetes occurs due to its (insulin's) deficiency. Secondly if a person is having T1 Dm then only drug that can be used is Insulin. In T2 DM there are a number of oral drugs available. Since you have neither mentioned your age or type of diabetes, it is difficult to answer your question. My suggestion is please come back with following details: age, type of diabetes, weight, height, fasting & PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, dietary pattern & extent of daily exercise. It will be good if you come in a private conversation, then I will be able to give very specific guidance and even the prescriptions. In this communication we are supposed to give just general guidelines, no prescription can be given. Further unless all the details are known, it is difficult to know the present control of diabetes in you. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, In the winter months skin becomes dry and there may be increased itching. There may not be any specific problem like infection or allergy. You may consider using moisturising creams or oils or white petroleum jelly applications, to maintain good deal of moisture in the skin. That should help. Fasting glucose should ideally be around 100 mg, for good control. PP should be 1j0 to 180 mg/100 ml. Thanks.

Mr Balmukund, Hypothyroidism is a thyroxine deficiency disorder, hence the treatment is replacement of the hormone through oral tablets. This has to be done for life time as the hormone is needed for day to day normal functioning of our brain and metabolism. Hence this is the only option, There is no permanent cure for it. In addition one has to avoid soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, peanuts, radish, mustard and coffee. Plus have to consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Use whole grain flour to make chapati and roti. No refined flour like maida. Daily exercise for 1 hour is also equally important to avoid weight gain.

Hello, Thanks for the query. TSH 4.81 mU/L is quite good. It is better if the level is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level all the symptoms of hypothyroidism are in check. With present level of TSH you need not change the dosage. But it is necessary to check TSH every 3 to months, till the level is maintained as mentioned earlier. Thanks.
