I am a 64 year old male. Am suffering from hypo thyroid and high blood pressure. Both are under control with normal medication. The latest problem is excessive sleep. I feel sleepy even after 10 hours of sleep. In fact I am sleepy the moment I wake up. The eyelids are heavy and I keep thinking when will I lie down again. Is it some kind of deficiency?

Hi sir, I am 24 years boy. I have an psychiatric problem now .I have also an epilepsy it is attacked at the age of 8 and 15 ,17 years .Last attack is 17 yrs. Recently I have no epilepsy attack! But then psychiatric problem will be raised (2010) after last epilepsy attack. The problem is fear of epilepsy, anxiety .I consult my doctor take the medicine along with epilepsy medicine (protein 100). Some days the problem will be cured so I was happy .last year (2015) consult my doctor he said that stopped medicine for epilepsy so I can stop epilepsy medicine in last year December. But some psychiatric problems are not cured. Since Last 8 months I suffering from lot of psychiatric problems. Suddenly mood changes, sucidical thoughts, traveling to any where feeling fear and social phobia. These are so many negative thoughts will attack me. I consult psychiatric doctors also but my problems are not cured. What I am? What's these type of life? So many thoughts around me. I used Szetalo 10 mg also last few months but don't change of my behavior taking this medicine. Which medicines are best for me these type of problems sir? Please suggest me !How can long use for psychiatric medicines? I completed graduation also I have no concentration on job searching and my life, please help me!

You need counselling more than probably medication for your psychiatry problems. I can see that you have used lots of medical terms in your question. You might be doing searching in the internet. I feel that you are not satisfied with what is happening in your life right now. Epilepsy might have made to compromise a few things in your life. Remember epilepsy medicine can be stopped if fits don't occur for a considerable period of time as decided by your doctor. Many patients will not have any recurrence after stopping. However counselling is required to correct some of the faulty thinking you are having now. Once your thought process is changed you will find the positives of life and will be able to enjoy it.

The condition that we call prickly heat, also known as heat rash, happens to adults and children when sweat becomes trapped under the skin. Prickly heat is sometimes called “sweat rash” or by its diagnostic name, miliaria rubra. Children tend to be more affected than adults because their sweat glands are still developing.

Symptoms

The symptoms of prickly heat are fairly straightforward. Red bumps and itching occur in an area where sweat has been trapped underneath layers of your skin. The neck, shoulders, and chest are the most common places for prickly heat to appear. Folds of skin and places where your clothing rubs your skin are also areas where prickly heat might occur. The area of irritation might display a reaction right away, or it might take a few days to develop on your skin.

Sometimes prickly heat will take the form of a patch of very small blisters, which is your skin reacting to the sweat that has leaked between its layers. Other times the area of your body where sweat is trapped might appear swollen or itch persistently.

In case of heat rashes using prickly heat powder, wearing cotton clothes may ease it, but if the problem persists visit your nearest dermatologist. Self medication is hazardous.

The cause of brain avm is unknown, but researchers believe most brain avms emerge during fetal development. Anyone can be born with a brain avm, but these factors may be a risk: being male. Avms are more common in males. Having a family history. Cases of avms in families have been reported, but it's unclear if there's a certain genetic factor or if the cases are only coincidental. Get xray of lower back and report for gas do you have to improve your food habits do 1. Take 2/ 3 glass of warm water in the morning 2. Take more water in day 3. Take meals at fixed hrs 4. Take small amount of food at a time, take more frequent meals - may be five times a day. 5. No spicy/ fried/ fast/ junk/processed food. 6. No milk for few days, can take curd, no uncooked salad 7. Avoid constipation 8. Use nibu pani (lemon water) 2/ 3 times a day 9. Do not drink/ STORE WATER IN PLASTIC bottles. For medicine contact on private consultation good luck.

. 1. Normal dose is 50 mg one hour before intercourse and the maximum is 100mg. 2. For elderly people (>65years) 25 mg tablet should be taken. 3. It should not be taken more than one tablet in 24 hour 4. It should not be taken without prescription of doctor because it has side effects like a) nasal congestion, headache, stomach upset, b) vision changes, facial flushing, c) dizziness d) patient with heart disease/diabetes/low bp should not take viagra. E) viagra is contra indicated for patients under nitrate (sorbitrate etc, arrhythmia. Angina. Mi, hypotension, diabetes, heart disease.

Hi, Women are prone to diabetes and hypertension during their menopausal age or after attaining menopause. Detection of diabetes at the age of 50 yrs has to be treated with medicines for the rest of the lifespan. Only diabetes detected during pregnancy in age group of 20s or 30s (gestational diabetes) may disappear after delivery of the child. Therefore, please keep checking your blood glucose levels regularly and keep taking medicines prescribed by your doctor.

For most people, the first week of quitting is the most difficult time. This is a time when getting over both the psychological dependency on cigarettes and physical effects of nicotine withdrawal can feel overwhelming. You might feel anxious, depressed, impatient, tired, or even hostile. During this critical time, it may be very tempting to go back to old behaviors and use smoking to deal with these feelings. Don’t worry, this stage in the process and the feelings you may have are only temporary. Although you may have cravings to smoke weeks or even months after quitting, as more time goes by, these urges will diminish in strength and frequency. Nicotine withdrawal symptoms are more short-lived, and should only last a few days (or a couple weeks) at most. When you put that into perspective with being smoke-free for the rest of your life, you know you can do it! The symptoms you experience in the first week will vary from one person to another, depending on how much nicotine your body is used to, and how much you smoked. Keep the tips below in mind to help you get through that important first week and set yourself up for success: •Remember that urges to smoke will come and go. Try waiting it out for a few minutes and occupying your mind with something else. •Remind yourself every day of why you are quitting. Your motivations for quitting can powerful reminders for when you’re in the worst parts of the quitting process. This is when you need them most to keep you on tract. •Write down your rationalizations. One way to help overcome cravings is to write down any rationalizations you may have for having a cigarette. Rationalizing is trying to find a good reason to do something you know is wrong. For example, “I’ll just have one cigarette today to get through this tough time,” or “you’ve got to die of something, might as well smoke.” If you write down rationalizations as they come to mind, it will help you to see them for what they are: traps to get you back into your smoking habit. •Drink plenty of water. Water cleanses and purifies your system while also giving you something to do with your hands. When you’re fully hydrated, your urge to eat is reduced as you’re stomach is full with liquids. This is a great tip if you’re concerned about weight gain. You can also drink herbal teas or fruit juices. •Take your mind off of a problem and come back to it later. With the symptoms of withdrawal at their height, you may feel that the world is against you. Remember that these feelings are only temporary. It may be tempting to think that it was better when you smoked because you didn’t feel this way. The truth is, these feelings will go away and once you’re past nicotine withdrawal, you are ready to feel even better than you ever did when you smoked. •Change everything! In many ways the habitual part of smoking cigarettes can be tied into your daily routines – the first cigarette with coffee in the morning, the drive to work, the smoke breaks, the after dinner cigarette. Think of ways to change everything so you can break free of the habit aspect of smoking. This is just a short-term adjustment. Once cigarettes are no longer a part of your life, you’ll go back to having different routines that you enjoy without smoking. •Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Your friends and loved ones want to support you any way they can. Your doctor can also be a great asset to you in leaving cigarettes behind, and can direct you toward other resources for help. Once you’ve gotten through the first week, you’ve passed a big milestone in the quitting process. While you may still find yourself dealing with urges and temptations to smoke, you will have the experience and success of your fist week behind you. In the weeks that follow, stay focused and keep moving toward your goal! When you quit smokeless tobacco, your withdrawal symptoms will be strongest during the first week. After two weeks of not using smokeless tobacco, your body will be rid of the addicting nicotine and the worst part will be over. Soon, you will feel better than you ever did when you dipped or chewed. But in the meantime, know the side effects you will experience when quitting so you can better deal with them: •Craving smokeless tobacco — Since nicotine is addictive, you'll have cravings for smokeless tobacco. Try waiting it out. Each urge to use will usually last only three to five minutes. Deep breathing and exercise help you feel better right away. •Feeling irritable, tense, restless or edgy— You're going through nicotine withdrawal. Try some form of exercise. Ask others to be patient. •Feeling hungry or having a desire for sweets — People do sometimes experience weight gain when they stop using tobacco. If you get hungry, drink fruit juices or eat a low calorie snack. Drink a lot of water. •Constipation/irregularity — Add fiber to your diet, like whole grain breads and cereals, fresh fruits and vegetables. If you have any further query feel free to ask. Way to Prevent Tartar

Toothpaste advertisements, dentists and many others have warned us about tartar and its ill effects. Most of us are unsure of what tartar is or what it does to our teeth.

Tartar - what is it?

Although you take good oral care at home, there is still bacteria in your mouth. Bacteria mixes with food and proteins and forms a sticky substance called plaque. This forms a coat on your teeth, gets under the gum line and damages the teeth and the gums.

Whenever you eat something, the bacteria releases acids, which damage the tooth enamel and create cavities leading to infected and inflamed gums. If the plaque is removed regularly, permanent tooth decay can be prevented.

However, plaque that settles on the teeth hardens to form tartar that only a dentist or a dental hygienist can remove.

How are teeth and gums effected by tartar?

Tartar makes brushing and flossing harder which can lead to cavities and eventually tooth decay.

If tartar forms above your gums line, the bacteria present in it irritate and damage the gums and overtime lead to progressive gum diseases.

Gingivitis is the mildest form of gum disease. Visiting a dentist regularly alongside brushing and flossing daily can keep gingivitis away from you. Otherwise, the damage can worsen to such an extent that pockets form between the teeth and gums and bacteria infects the gums. This is called periodontitis.

How to control tartar build-up

The best way however is not to let tartar form on the teeth.

1) dental care

Brush twice a day for at least 3 minutes with a soft toothbrush. Ensure that you brush the rear surface and the rear molars too.

Electronic or powered toothbrushes have been proven to get rid of plaque better than the manual ones, but make sure that they are ada approved.

If you choose a tartar control toothpaste with fluoride, you can prevent plaque from hardening into tartar. Fluoride repairs the enamel damage too. Toothpastes that have triclosan also fight the bacteria in plaque.

Flossing is the only way to remove plaque from between the teeth and keep out tartar formation.

2) proper diet

The bacteria in your mouth along with starchy and sugary foods release harmful acids to damage the teeth and the gums. Remember that whenever you eat, you are feeding the bacteria too. Hence, limit the intake of sugary foods, brush and floss after every meal and drink lots of water.

3) quit smoking

People who smoke or chew tobacco products succumb to tartar build-up.

A dentist only can remove the tartar from your teeth. Accordingly, visit a dentist once in 3 months to prevent any further oral problems.

Hello, this may be because of acidity/ indigestion/ gas you can take(if no drug allergy): 1. Tablet Meftal spas one tablet stat after food 2. Tablet Pantocid 40 mg before food once a day for 2-3 days. And follow care advises given below. Avoid food from outside, junk, fried, spicy fatty food take home made light food like moong dal, Dalia, chapatti also tell me associated symptoms like vomiting sensation, loose motion/ burning sensation in chest or any other symptoms are present or not? so that we can reach diagnosis. Consult physician/me for further management
