Saving Your Child's Teeth :

Having good non decayed milk teeth with spacing between them is good for the child. There is a probability that if there are no spaces between milk teeth ( before 6 years of age) - the chances of having irregular teeth become more later on when the permanent teeth erupt. If there is crowding/ irregularity on the eruption of permanent teeth, it is better to show it to a Pedodontist ( Child Dental Specialist), by 7 to 8 yeras of age - who will help you and the child get the teeth into alignment without having to go through braces later on. This way there will be less chances of decay in child's milk and permanent teeth.

Hi lybrate-user, Here is a home workout plan for teenagers that want to get fit, build some muscle and work out at home. This plan requires little to no equipment, This teenage workout program for beginners should work for you! 1. Chest / Triceps - 3 sets of push-ups, as many as you can do, with 60 seconds rest between sets 2. Back / Biceps - 3 sets of pull-ups, as many as you can do, with 60 seconds rest between sets 3. Legs: Three sets of get-ups, 8 – 15 repetitions per set, with 60 seconds rest between sets. 4. Abs: Three sets of crunches, 8-15 repetitions, with 60 seconds rest between sets Don’t Forget Nutrition! My son aged 12 years reading in Class-VI. Basically he is very obedient in nature but he is very unmindful and sometimes he is alone thinking something else and that's why he could not concentrate in reading and he is very slow learner despite his vigorous labor. He is not interested in sports and other physical activities. He has god gifted singing talent. He usually likes to sit alone. He could not adjust with friends in school properly. He is shaky in unknown areas and could not respond promptly. We the parents are very much anxious about his marks at School and his lonely behaviour. Please let me know whether there is any Education Therapy or any counseling is required for him. If it's required then please tell me how much time will be required for that as we are living at Silchar far distance from Guwahati. Please let me know whether this treatment is available at your organisation.

At least you have identified his great skill in singing. so you must explore that extensively to build self-confidence and to develop this area. This is an Early Adolescent stage and any manifestation of problems like these are indicative of some serious that needs the attention of a professional. There may be some developmental issues and/or genetic that needs immediate attention. If you do not attend to it now, it will disappear and make it appear that there is nothing wrong. That is a deception. It will come again in mid-adolescence seeking a resolution. If you do not solve it then it will come again finally for the last time in late adolescence. If at that time you do not resolve it, the child will enter adulthood with permanent negative traits that lead to a breakdown and cause even personality disorders. The more it is delayed, the more severe can be the effects.

The child female baby of 2 years weight 14 kg height 2'11" usually avoid food grain items to consume but tempted to take non veg items like chicken mutton etc. Proper immunization schedule carrying on and bears a normal health. She doesn't want to take milk. Always seems to inclined to have mother milk. Otherwise craves a lot at night. Child is living in a area where ameobesis is commonly seen among the people. Don't taking any vit drops or otherwise any medicine. Shud I expect any medicine or not. What's about her craving for mother milk. Pl advice and guide.

child do develop likening of mother's milk. Also her tastes developed for non veg items. You should stop breast milk or at least give at night times only for few months . you can give milk in other forms. kheer..halwa etc . start cow's milk by glass or flavoured milk.. Make her eat other veg items. Gradually she will develop taste for other items also.

Children are as vulnerable as they are adorable. Their immune system is not as strong as that of adults, so they are easy victims to environment borne diseases like cold, cough, influenzas and other infections. Here are 5 practical and easy ways in which you can boost your child's immunity and make sure that your role as a parent is sufficiently fulfilled.

1. Decide judiciously what he is supposed to eat and drink

Your child's daily diet must contain a lot of fruits, vegetables, juices, organic foods and proteins. Healthy fats like butter, pastured eggs, coconut etc. Are also essential as they help in absorbing important vitamins like vitamins a, d, e, k and others. Even your child's water intake should be at an optimal level. Processed food and excessive sugar intake should be avoided as they add to your child's calorie count.

2. Get your child to exercise

Regular exercise is a must. It may include running, swimming, jumping or simply strolling. Screen time should be limited as much as possible as those video games and i-pads are robbing your child of his immunity. Turn balancing into a game. Sit with Baby on the floor and help her stand up. Then count how long he can stay up before he tumbles. Give him praise after each attempt. It may take a few stumbles and series of steps before he is on the move. Continue to praise Baby as he starts to explore walking.

The Dangers Of Fast Food Diet

Are you the one who lives on burgers or packaged foods? well, then it's time for you to check your diet. These delicious food items that you die for contain excess carbohydrates and unhealthy fats that are extremely dangerous for your health. Most of these food items contain excess of carbs, fats, added sugars and salt. These items do not have sufficient nutritional values. They only offer you high calories that are harmful for the body and its various organs. Researchers have found that when most of these food items were given to lab animals, they yielded dangerous results, offering negative nutritional value to them. Prolonged exposure to these food items can affect the health of the heart, gastrointestinal organs and lead to obesity.

According to the robert wood johnson foundation, it has been found that most people underestimate the number of calories intake at a fast-food selling outlet. A 2013 study published in jama pediatrics reveals that individuals consume more calories in restaurants than at their respective home. This trend is quite dangerous. It is responsible for the occurrence of a number of diseases. 

Here's why you should avoid fast foods:

Save your digestive and cardiovascular systems: fast foods are packed with unhealthy amounts of carbohydrates and fats. When these are consumed, our digestive system breaks down these carbs into sugar or glucose. The glucose is then released into the blood. As the blood is loaded with sugar, pancreas releases insulin hormone into the body. Insulin regulates the transportation of the sugar to cells. As the sugar reaches various cells, pancreas releases another hormone-glucagon. It commands the liver to make use of the sugar. Now, when excess sugar is produced in the body due to intake of fast foods, the balance between insulin and glucagon is hampered and the level of sugar in bloodstream changes. Consequently, you develop type 2 diabetes.

Check your weight and heart: the added sugars and unsaturated fats in the fast foods lead to obesity. You consume more calories and as a result of which your body weight increases. This is quite dangerous for your health. Under such circumstances, you tend to develop chronic heart diseases due to the increasing levels of cholesterol in your body.

Your kidney is at risk: fast foods often contain excess salt. The intake of fast foods changes the level of sodium in the body. Sodium is responsible for maintaining the fluid content in the body. Increasing fluid levels due to intake of excess sodium in the form of salt exerts pressure on the heart muscle and causes high blood pressure. Besides, excess sodium also damages the kidney.

Protect your respiratory system:

 According to a study in journal thorax, children who eat excess fast food are at increased risk of developing asthma and rhinitis. In fact, increased body weight puts extra pressure on your respiratory organs and causes difficulty in breathing.

Affects central nervous system: intake of junk food affects the brain synapses and the molecules that are related to the process of memory and learning in both children and adults.

keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

throat infection and treat headache, fever, body aches, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and sinus congestion caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu. Take tab. sinarest it contains ( Acetaminophen+ Pseudoephedrine+ chlorpheniramine). Acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, and pseudoephedrine is a combination medicine . Do gargle with warm water thrice a day. Drink warm water also. Take plenty of water, liquid diet, dalia, green veg., orange. avoid cold things, avoid cold drinks. Avoid Oily foods. If symptoms are from more days or again persist then do few tests for confirm causes of it.. i.e. CBC. welcome in lybrate.

He is on mother's feed. Tell her to avoid fried, fermented, fatty food. Her stomach should be cleared daily. Passing some amount of gas is normal.

See the child is fed properly inadequate feeds also, make the child hungry and irritable clothing let them be comfortable see for wet diapers they also make the child irritable.

What is the ketogenic diet?
