Follow the tips *clean your skin gently with a mild face wash removing all dirt or make-up. Wash many times a day with plain water. *get an adequate amount of sleep. *avoid touching your face with your hands or try to squeeze pimples, it may leave permanent scars and spread the infection. *make a habit of 8-10 glasses of water daily. *avoid fried and spicy food. *include fruits, raw vegetables and fresh vegetable juices in your diet. *avoid stress and anger. *avoid harsh skin products. For medicine consult privately.

I am 35 years old I have dandruff problem permanently I dried to many anti dandruff shampoo and also take medicine but no improvement.

What is the severity of your dandruff? daily cleansing with a gentle shampoo to reduce oiliness and skin cell buildup can often help mild dandruff. Shampooing with tea tree oil can also help eliminating dandruff. For severe dandruff antibacterial and antifungal shampoos as prescribed by me can reduce the fungus on your scalp that can cause dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. But never self treat fungal dandruff as it may develop resistance and cause lifelong problems do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

Home treatments for healthy hair Make a paste of henna, curd, soaked and ground fenugreek, ground hibiscus flowers, ground gooseberries, and egg (all of them or any one) and apply it onto the hair and scalp for about an hour before shampooing. Done regularly, this will make your hair stronger and better-looking. But remember that henna is suitable only for dark coloured hair because it tints hair red. Wash the hair out with decoction of tea or a bit of lemon squeezed into the water in which you will bathe. (for dandruff). Apply coconut or almond oil. If doing this daily does not appeal to you, apply the oil on the scalp overnight before shampooing, or apply a drop to the top of your head before you comb out your hair. You check your CBC, Serum Ferritin & TSH and send result to me directly in my consultation page so that I will not miss it. MEDICATION The only medication approved to treat female pattern baldness is Minoxidil: •It is applied to the scalp. •For women, the 2% concentration is recommended. •Minoxidil may help hair grow in about 1 in 4 or 5 of women. In most women, it may slow or stop hair loss. •You must continue to use this medicine for a long time. Hair loss starts again when you stop using it. If Minoxidil does not work, your doctor may recommend other medicines, such as spironolactone, cimetidine, birth control pills, and ketoconazole, among others. Your doctor can tell you more about these if needed.
