Hello Doctor I have Dental problem, between my teeth gap is their and its not looking good while laughing due to this I am not enjoying party and groups. My age is 24 years and I want to doctor also nd they suggest me to put clip in teeth, but also told 2 teeth they will take out also. For that I want suggestion if I do this is it beneficial for me and will it create any problem in future for taking teeth out in this age? And if I do so. Then how long it will take to recover. Please suggest me what to do?

Dentist, Faridabad
Hello you mentioned that you have gaps in your teeth. If the gaps are due to cavities, get them filled. But if you have been suggested ortho treatment, then it is not necessary that teeth have to be removed. If space is already present, then I do not see the need for removal until unless opposing teeth are posing a problem for their alignment. Please see an orthodontist/dentist to get full evaluation done. If the teeth has to be removed, the space created will be adjusted and closed by moving the teeth backwards. The healing of the sockets, if taken care properly is uneventful and usually heals in 5-10 days.

I clean my mouth 4 times a day still I have bad breath. Why and what is the reason?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I am 23 years old. And suffering from teeth sensitive how I get rid off. Fastly. And also whit the teeth. please give me a help full tips.

Dental Clinic
Dentist, Gurgaon
Sensitivity in teeth can be due to receding gum level which exposes root surface of the teeth. For sensitivity you can use desensitising toothpaste and a mouthwash at night. If it is not cured even then you can go for professional cleaning which restores gum level almost to normal even after only one sitting. It is also the remedy for yellowness of teeth.

Start taking a course of multivitamin capsule once daily for 1 week apply dologel ct 3-4 times a day. Avoid spicy and hot food. Start using mouthwash do dilute it with water twice daily after meals. Consult a dentist if it persists even after 1 week. Then we need to rule out the cause regards.

Hello Doctor, I am a boy of 18 years old and have yellow teeth. I brush twice daily. What could I do to get my teeth whiten? Thank You.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Hi. The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

Hello sir I am Rahul I am 20 yrs old man n I have suffering from cavity problem so what should I do.

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Howrah
You need to get your cavities filled (restored) as early as possible, if the cavities are deep and have exposed the pulp then you would need to get root canal treatment (rct) done.

An Insight on Teeth Whitening

What is it?
Tooth whitening lightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration. Whitening is among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it can greatly improve how your teeth look. Most dentists perform tooth whitening. Whitening is not a one time procedure. It will need to be repeated from time to time if you want to maintain the brighter color.

What it is used for?
The outer layer of the tooth is called the enamel. The color of natural teeth is created by the reflection and scattering of light off the enamel, combined with the color of the dentin under it. Your genes affect the thickness and smoothness of the enamel. Thinner enamel allows more of the color of the dentin to show through. Having smoother or rougher enamel also affects the reflection of light and therefore the color.

Every day, a thin coating (pellicle) forms on the enamel and picks up stains. Tooth enamel also contains pores that can hold stains. The most common reasons for teeth to get yellow or stained are:

  • Using tobacco
  • Drinking dark colored liquids such as coffee, cola, tea and red wine
  • Not taking good care of your teeth

Aging makes teeth less bright as the enamel gets thinner and the dentin becomes darker. It is also possible to have stains inside the tooth. These are called intrinsic stains. For example, intrinsic stains can be caused by exposure to too much fluoride as a child while teeth are developing. Other causes include tetracycline antibiotics. They can stain a child's teeth if taken by a mother during the second half of pregnancy or by a child who is 8 years old or younger. Teeth are still developing during these years. Trauma can also darken a tooth and tooth whitening is the most effective way to treat on surface (extrinsic) stains.

I am 21 years old, suffering from bad breath from 2 years please tell me what should I do?

Advanced Aesthetics, BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently.

Hello. Yes these 3rd molors should get extracted because they will strat hurting there near one and harm those. Bad smell is due to food lodgement and pocket formation irt erupting tooth. So you should get these tooth extracted.

Consuming sugary food in a huge quantity can be harmful for the teeth as the bacteria present in dental plaque changes them into acids.

The thought of undergoing RCT can cause anxiety and stress. Get a good night sleep before the RCT as it will help to reduce anxiety and will also help in maintaining your overall well being.

Hi bleeding is the sign of gum disease known as gingivitis with plaque deposition. You need to go for cleaning and scaling for plaque removal. Take care of your oral hygiene. Rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine mouthwash. Take celin tabs once daily for 15 days.
