Sir my age is 19 but I am suffering from knee pain regularly. My shirts becomes heavy due to sweats. What should I do.
Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Today, let’s understand What is Insomnia? Insomnia is nothing but the lack of sleep but that leads to, at times, in an individual’s stress and depression also.
What are the causes of insomnia? There are certain causes of insomnia-

  •  Mainly, it is due to mental disturbances.
  •  Any type of a body pain, uncomfortable weather, or the surrounding also leads to insomnia.
  • Maybe, improper digestion, constipation, some disease, eating irregularity habits also leads to insomnia.

There are certain symptoms of insomnia.

  • Fatigue.
  • Irritability in our behavior.
  • Problem in concentration, attention or a memory.
  • Poor performance at our school or at work.
  • Daytime sleepiness.
  • Aggression or impulsiveness in our behavior.
  • Lack of energy or the motivation.
  •  frustration about our own sleep.

Now, how do we get treated while sitting at our place?

  •  Do regular exercise but not late in the evenings.
  •  Avoid caffeine in all forms after your lunch time.
  • Avoid taking naps during the day time.
  •  Have a nice long warm bath before you sleep.
  •  Try to drink warm buffalo milk with the honey in it before you go to sleep.
  •  Keep your room away from all the electronic gadgets.

Tip- I will suggest you to take a shower with warm water or just wash your face , forearms , legs with soap and water at bedtime for a peaceful sleep

You should start streching and strengthening exercises. Maintain your posture. Control body weight. When you sit try to sit on fully back supported chair. Don't lift heavy weight.

I am suffering from arthritis, I can not bent my fingers, also pain in knees & footstep. I check my RA, result is negative. What I do?

It is called as Rheumatic arthritis. If your pain is more in the distal joints, ie. In the upper limbs if the pain is present in the fingers/wrist and in the lower limbs it the pain is present in the toes/ ankle, then we shall definitely say it is Rheumatic arthritis. Wear elbow brace and wrist brace which will make her to feel warm and that will make the joints become firm. Hot water fermentation will help Knee cap will also help to prevent the damaged cartilages. If your pain is more in the distal joints, ie. In the upper limbs if the pain is present in the fingers/wrist and in the lower limbs it the pain is present in the toes/ ankle, then we shall definitely say it is Rheumatic arthritis. Which joints you have pain? If your proximal joints (ie. Shoulder, hip & knee has pain) then you can pour hot (warm) water in that area to reduce the inflammation. If you have pain in the distal joints ie. Wrist, fingers, ankle, toes then you can wear either elbow brace or wrist brace which will help you to feel warm and very protective. And also immerse the distal joints in the hot water tub which will help you to reduce the pain. Consult the near by physiotherapy clinic and also consult a general physician to check with your ESR levels to check whether you have inflammation.

Am suffering from Lt knee Lock since last 2 months MRI taken on May 12 revealed there is Multiple Ligaments problem of which 2 Partial Tear & 2 sprained (Tear in ACL & LCL) presently wearing Hinges Brace & undergoing physiotherapy but it started paining while walking & lting on bed keeping leg straight. kindly suggest d how it will get unlocked.

Locked knee since 2 month is a serious problem. It's most likely the torn meniscus which has caused the locking. Unfortunately there is no medicines which can heal the torn meniscus. I would strongly recommend that you undergo arthroscopy meniscectomy. I would not be much worried about ligaments at your age, but locked Knee if it remains locked will quickly cause degenerative arthritis in the joint.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

According ur age X-Ray must arthritis issue seems OA So put a towel roll under knee and press for 19 second then release repeat 10 time twice a day. Quadriceps exercise and physiotherapy treatment

At your mother's age it is possible for advanced degenerative changes to have set in the joint, and that could be a cause for recurrent inflammation and painful episodes. Please tell me duration of pain and what are aggravating factors? how much distance can you walk and what is the analgesic requirement to carry out activities of daily routine? what medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. These symptoms suggest that you might be suffering from indigestion. Just watch your diet. Stop all heavy foods & try to have simple easily digestible foods like khichdi, soups etc. Have your dinner by 7 pm latest. You can try 1 tsp of castor oil at bedtime with a glass of lukewarm water. Take it for a few days. Once you are fine. Take it alternate days & then every 2-3 days. I think it will help you. But taking early dinner will solve most of your problems.

You should wear mid thigh compression stockings especially designed for varcisose veins.Whats your profession? Avoid standing at one place for long duration.Go on walks on an even surface and do leg elevation exercises.

Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having leg pain though there are no issues with the knee joint and ankle pain. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired that can also be reason to have frequent sprains in the leg once the oxygen levels in the blood comes down it automatically leads to improper functioning of the joints and muscles. You can take good Iron supplement, calcium and vitamin D which will help you to have good energy and also which will help you to boost the iron in the blood and also it will slowly reduce your joint pain. . Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. ..Warm mustard oil or sesame oil (1 teaspoon) with 3-4 cloves of crushed garlic and 1 tsp of ajwain (carom) seeds until it roasts to a reddish brown colour. Ensure that it does not get burned. Massage this oil on your affected areas. After that do hot fomentation with salt potli (bag. Take 2 tab yograj guggul twice daily with water 30 min after meals.
