Treatment for lower back pain depends upon the patient's history and the type and severity of pain. The vast majority of lower back pain cases get better within six weeks without surgery, and lower back pain exercises are almost always part of a treatment plan. Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -Apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -Find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -Avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -Good posture plays a key role in your spine health, helping to prevent additional back and neck pain and even injuries to spinal structures. Try to be aware of your posture and make good posture part of your normal routine. -head up, shoulders back, rear tucked under -Stand and walk with correct posture -Sit with support -Lift and carry carefully -And finally, keep moving:-Maintaining a static position for too long—more than twenty or thirty minutes at a time—is hard on the back. Prolonged static posture can slowly deplete elasticity from the tissues. By simply moving—be it a change of position, a stretch, or a short walk—the tissue elasticity needed to protect your joints can be restored and the associated discomfort reduced. -Stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -Some Physiotherapy treatment like IFT current can give you relief. -Consult a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your back pain. I fractured by left olecranon and it has healed after operation with K wire and tension bands. I want to know the procedure for removal of K wire and tension band. How much time required to be in hospital and the pain involved. I am 53 years healthy male.

Dear sir you may have to wait minimum 12 months to remove the same and to ensure it is safety for removal of joints it may require 7 to 10 days depending on basic healing and opinion of the consultant surgeon best wishes.

Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). Lie down on bed on your back without pillow. Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

Arthritis - How it Impacts Your Hip Bone?

If you are experiencing joint stiffness in your hip along with pain and tenderness, you could be suffering from hip arthritis or osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis accounts for being the most common form of arthritis. It is referred to as degenerative joint disease and old-age arthritis and usually, occurs because of age-related issues. The condition occurs when injury and inflammation of a joint lead to the breakdown of the cartilage tissue, causing pain, swelling, and deformity.

How hip arthritis affects the hip joint?
People who are affected by osteoarthritis of the hip may have difficulty in walking properly. Diagnosis in the early stage is difficult as pain may occur in various locations such as the thigh, groin, knee or buttocks.

The underlying causes
The factors responsible for osteoarthritis include increasing age, joint injury and excess body weight. Some other factors may also be responsible. They are as follows:

  1. When the joints have formed improperly.
  2. In case of inherited defects in the cartilage.
  3. When a person puts excess stress on the hip joint because of being overweight or due to certain activities and motions.

How it can be detected?
The different symptoms of hip arthritis or osteoarthritis are as follows:

  1. Joint stiffness, especially after waking up in the morning.
  2. Joint stiffness after sitting for a long period.
  3. Swelling, pain, and tenderness in the hip joint.
  4. A crunching feeling or sound of bones rubbing against one another.
  5. The inability to move the hip for carrying out daily activities.

Treatment
The aim of osteoarthritis treatment is to improve the patient’s ability to move about so that his regular life is less affected. The function of the hip and pain management are other targets of treatment for this condition. The different treatment plans are as follows:

  1. Proper joint care and rest
  2. Using a cane while walking for taking weight off your hip
  3. Losing excessive weight
  4. Non-drug pain relief measures for controlling pain
  5. Regular exercise
  6. Several medicines, including NSAIDS and other prescribed pain medication
  7. Surgery
  8. Alternative therapies

Hip replacement surgery
This is a surgical procedure used for osteoarthritis treatment when all other treatment plans fail. The damaged ball of the hip joint is replaced with a metal ball in this surgical procedure. The hip socket is resurfaced by using a plastic liner and metal shell. Apart from the mentioned treatment procedures, hip resurfacing is another surgical option for osteoarthritis treatment, which helps in giving relief when a hip replacement surgery is delayed. 1.take a long hot bath in water in which a few cups of Epsom salts have been added. 2.If you suspect your body and pains are due to stress-get plenty of sleep and try to reduce or eliminate the cause of your stress. 3.Meditation, deep breathing and yoga.

Sprained my right ankle, feeling bad pain with mild swelling. Got xray done and xray shows bones in normal condition. I think its a ligament injury.

For simple ligament injuries also plaster is recommended for 3 weeks. This gives rest to the part and ensures that the ligaments heal in proper position and u don't end up with persistent pain.

I am suffering with Frozen shoulder since last one year. My age is 51. I do not have diabetes. My uric acid level is 8. I am doing some light exercises. My work is on computer working in Accounts dept. I can easily up my hand. Only in morning pain is more. And also suggest which massage hot or Ice is useful. My condition is same not increase or reduce. Now suggest your view.

its not frozen shoulder. do hot fermentation and tk muscle relaxant medicine. avoid strain full activity. if pain is constant then do physiotherapy treatment for 10 days it will cure
