How does sugar damage our teeth, and how should I get rid of it please time some home remedy.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Our mouth is full of hundreds of bacteria, many of which are beneficial to the oral ecosystem. However, certain harmful oral bacteria actually feed on the sugars you eat to create acids that destroy the tooth enamel, which is the shiny, protective outer layer of the tooth. Cavities are a bacterial infection created by acids, that cause your teeth to experience a hole in them. Without treatment, cavities can progress past the enamel and into the deeper layers of the tooth, causing pain and possible tooth loss (a)Avoid Certain Foods/Drinks When Possible: We’re not asking you to give up your morning coffee, just to reduce the intake of the above foods as much as possible. Sometimes simply being aware can help us make better choices. (b)Drink Water: After you’ve consumed a tooth-staining food or drink try to immediately follow it with a glass of water. Swirling water around your mouth can drastically help clear away the acids or staining. This simple step is free and easy, and can drastically help reduce tooth discoloration. (c)Proper Dental Hygiene: Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental checkups help keep teeth healthy for a lifetime. Develop these habits early and you’re less likely to have dental problems down the line. (d)Teeth Whitening: The good news is that there are many options available to whiten teeth. Some can be done at home while others can take help of Homoeopathic medicines. Homoeopathic medicine HEKLA LAVA TOOTH POWDER ( WHEEZAL) Scrub teeth daily night RINSEOUT ( SBL) Gargles 20 drops in 20 ml luke warm water.Gargles 3 times daily while holding water for 20 seconds in mouth esp.after meals.

I'm 23 years old suffering from teeth pain Already 2. 3 teeth r not in a good condition.

BDS
Dentist, Kolar
Once there is a cavity/ hole/ decay in ir teeth, they cannot b reversed back to its good health by usi g any kind of home remedies or any kind of toothpastes. It requires definitive treatment n intervention by dentist like filling of teeth after cleaning the decay. If the decay is extensive n the tooth nerve is affected, rct n capping 'll b done by dentist. The tooth is removed if the decay tooth cannot be saved by dentist n is replaced by artificial tooth later on. Visit a dentist to get ur tooth evaluated n get treated accordingly.

My teeth are becoming yellowish though I brush twice daily. What should I do to stop this yellowing?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
There are many causes of yellow or discolored teeth. A few of the most common: 1.Drinks: Coffee and red wine cause major damage to teeth.. But other drinks with high acidity, such as soda, juices and even sports drinks can cause staining on the teeth. Even white wine is not far behind in staining our teeth yellow, because its tannins and acidic nature wear away at the tooth enamel. These Acidic drinks lowers the Ph of teeth below 6 thus causing corrosive wear and tear of teeths. 2.Certain Foods: Colored candies, popsicles and other bright foods can cause staining over time. Think of it this way – if your tongue turns a bright shade of blue, chances are your teeth are getting some of that discoloration, too. Even healthy foods such as berries (blueberries, cranberries, raspberries) can stain teeth. Ketchup, curry and other sauces can cause staining problems over time, too. 3,Natural Aging Process: Quite simply, teeth yellow over time. It’s a natural part of the aging process that the white protective coatings wear down over time. So the longer you have your teeth, the more likely they are to become yellow or discolored. 4.Most of us are guilty of at least some of the above (and none of us can stop time). But the good news is that even if red wine is one of your vices and your teeth look yellower lately, there are things you can do to bring back the white. 5.How to make Teeth white (a)Avoid Certain Foods/Drinks When Possible: We’re not asking you to give up your morning coffee, just to reduce the intake of the above foods as much as possible. Sometimes simply being aware can help us make better choices. (b)Drink Water: After you’ve consumed a tooth-staining food or drink try to immediately follow it with a glass of water. An impacted tooth is a tooth that is positioned against another tooth, bone, or soft tissue so that it is unlikely to fully erupt through the gums to reach its normal position in the mouth. Wisdom teeth (third molars) the wisdom teeth or third molars are the last to come through, right at the back. They usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25. Although sometimes they appear many years later. Nowadays people often have jaws that are too small for all 32 teeth - 28 is often the most we have room for.

Its recommended to go for a root canal treatment now because swelling can increase and it can be more painful. That will affect your exams also. So its better you go for it. It wont take much time.

Chewing a sugarless gum after meals is a good idea as it will freshen your breath and make the leftover food cling to it.

Gum Pain Home Remedies

M.B.S.(HOMEO), MD - Homeopathy

Gum Pain Home Remedies
Consume Carefully

If you have a sore or an ulcer on your gums, avoid eating anything that can irritate the tissue. Stay away from spicy and acidic foods and drinks. This includes tomato juice and even colas. They have pHs in the range of five, which is acidic. What about orange juice? Make sure you dilute it with water. This reduces the acidic concentration, so the juice won’t burn when you drink it.

Visit a dentist regularly for oral health checkups.

I am 21 years old I have 1cm teeth gap in top front side I am worrying about this whenever I am smiling I lose my confident, I am not interested to put clip is an other option is there.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
If you have ruled out the option of going for orthodontic treatment (braces), you can surely close the gap betwen your teeth using veneers or crowns depending on the severity of the gap and size of the adjacent teeth. A gap of 1cm should be a difficult proposition to close but cosmetic treatment is surely possible.

Sevvior pain in my teeth on my right side upper jaw last teeth please help me to cure it.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Hi ,the type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed. You may also consult me in person.
