I have vitiligo. What type of food, vegetables, fruits I should not eat so as to prevent the spread of vitiligo. Is it possible that vitiligo can be cured forever.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Diploma in Dermatology
Ayurveda, Faridabad
Hello lybrate-useras you have mentioned that you are suffering from vitilgo. This problem is a genetic disorder trigger by indigestion and stressful conditions. There was always confusion in patients mind regarding choosing right treatment approach for vitiligo. Allopathy can give quick results but is not very safe for long term uses if steroids are used. Homeopathic is safe but very slow and in most of cases it can not stop the spread of disease i. E old patches shows some recovery but new white patches continue to come even when we are using homeopathy. If one think abourt using ayurveda there is no good vaidya who is expertise in vitiligo. At kayakalp global we have integrated external allopathic applications with internal ayurvedic medication to give fast and long lasting results. Ayurvedic herbal medicines are used to purify blood and stop the spread of disease and external application are capable of quickly start regimentation. For detail replies regarding 1. Causes of vitiligo 2. Is it genetic or can it spread to next generation 3. Causes of spread of disease after it remains stable for some years 4. Should we use homeopathy, allopathy or ayurveda. You can contact clinic you can send pictures of vitiligo effected parts

I am losing hair quickly and have tried all shampoo but no effect. Please help me.
Shampoo should be diluted in water to make it mild. Direct use affects sensetive hair. Avoid using different different shampoos. Use arnica hair oil (sbl) regularly, or you may apply a day before washing head. Use for 3 months. If still problem persists after a month consult for internal medication. Excessive masturbtion causes hairfall.

Dear lybrate user, pimples/ acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease which develops due to blocking of the hair follicles in skin. These blockages occur due to 4 abnormal processes: 1) excess sebum production due to androgens 2) excessive deposition of the protein keratin leading to comedone formation 3) infection of propionibacterium acnes (p. Acnes) bacteria on the hair follicles 4) local release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the skin. Neither can you stop the overproduction of androgen or keratin protein nor can you stop the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals because all these processes takes place internally in your skin. However you can stop the accumulation of p. Acnes bacteria on your skin by preventing your skin from getting oily. Always keep a handkerchief with you whenever you go outside. You should wipe off the slightest amount of sweat from your face as soon as you perspire on entering your room from outside wash your face with an oil-free, non-moisturizing face wash. Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink a lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. You can also take homoeopathic calcarea phos 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach also you can apply homoeopathic mother tincture berberis aquifolium q on the dark spots on your skin which are produced after the resolution of the pimples.

I am 30 years old married lady. I am loosing lots of hair everyday. I have thyroid problem.
Is your hair loss accompanied with greying of hair and have they become very thin? your hair needs a very high protein well-rounded diet. Hair and nails are the last organs to get nutrition in the body, hence only if all the organs get sufficient nutrition and proteins, only then the remaining nutrition would be used for hairs. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress, current/past dandruff and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I may also prescribe medications like biotin or minox. That are proven to help in hairgrowth and repair I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

Sir problem is hair loss I am only 16 so help me and I am also doing masturbation so this will also effect on hair loss.
Start taking black til (seasam) with a glass of lukewarm milk early morning. Avoid pickles, spices, oily, greesy food items. Start avle ka murabba. Also have a high protien rich diet e. G. Pulses, dry fruits, black gram, ground nut etc. Also oil your hair with good herbal oil and wash with herbal shamppoo - avoid shampoos with high acid contents. As far as ayurveda's therapy is concerned - start with shirodhara with herbal oil and nasyam therapy for atleast 15 days. This will greatly help. Do gentle massage with herbal hair oil daily night for 15 minutes. Try to avoid your habit of masturbation and have rich protien diet.

Hi, Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash 2 to 3 times a day daily (wash your face with warm or lukewarm water only) which is followed by CTMP, i.e. Cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) except at night when you just need to wash your face before going to bed. -Take healthy food only and avoid unhealthy ones (although sebaceous glands are not excretory glands then as well!) as what you eat is reflected on your face! -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension as it encourages secretion of stress hormone in the body as this affects skin or any other tissue of the body. -Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water in a day. -Take 6-8 hrs. Of sound sleep everyday. -Don't use others towels, handkerchief on your face as well as never share yours. -Never ever rub your face as it damages the skin (even towel should be dab on skin softly) and breakouts of acne get worsened! -Maintain hygiene, wash your face 2-3 times in a day, changes the pillow covers, bed sheet daily, use cotton bed sheet only (try to sleep on your back). Home remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 30 days.

Cystic Acne - Know The Primary Reasons Behind It!

MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, MBBS

Cystic Acne - Know The Primary Reasons Behind It!

Cystic acne is a dermatological condition in which the skin pores get blocked causing infection and inflammation. Over secretion of sebum creates an optimal environment for the bacteria trapped in the pores to thrive; and the bacterium, Propionibacterium acnes is responsible for this condition.

This form of acne occurs when the infection occurs deep within the skin causing a painful, swollen, red bump filled with pus. It usually takes place during teens or the late 20's. An estimated, 80% of the people suffer from cystic acne between 11 and 30 years of age.

The primary reasons for cystic acne are:

  • Hormonal changes pertaining to puberty, menstruation, pregnancy or birth control
  • Greasy cosmetics, lotions, and soaps that cause allergy can also lead to this form of acne
  • An inherited tendency for acne can also be a likely cause

Cystic acne tends to produce inflammatory cysts and nodules, which are visible and painful. In addition, they pose the danger of causing visible scarring and shallow depressions on the face.

Usual medicines, which are used to treat mild acne, have little effect on cystic acne, what you must do in this case:

  • Use of oral antibiotics, which helps to keep the bacteria in check and also reduce inflammation
  • Birth control pills are often effective treatment for regulating hormones in women

Some of the preventative measures would be:

  • Not touching the cysts is advisable as it can lead the infection to spread
  • Relaxation and adequate sleep are also recommended as stress causes the body to release more hormones which can worsen the condition
  • Some studies indicate diet low in sugar also help to reduce the condition

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Pimple Not responded

MBBS, Diploma In Dermatology And Venerology And Leprosy (DDVL)
Dermatologist, Raigarh
Pimple Not responded
Pimple is the most common condition treated by physicians worldwide.

Though most pimple patients remit spontaneously, for the ones that do not or are unresponsive to conventional therapy or have obvious cutaneous signs of hyperandrogenism,

Hormonal therapy is the next option in the therapeutic ladder. It is not strictly indicated for only those patients who have cutaneous or biochemical evidence of hyperandrogenism, but can be used even without any evidence of hyperandrogenism, for therapy-resistant pimple.

It can be prescribed as monotherapy, but when used in combination with other conventional therapies, it may prove to be more beneficial.

Hormonal evaluation is a prerequisite for hormonal therapy, to identify the cause behind hyperandrogenism, which may be ovarian or adrenal.

* Don't scratch or pinch your pimples. This will cause more damage---cause scars, pores and black spots. * Avoid fried and oily foods. * Prefer fruits and green vegetables. * When you apply any cream, sun screen and the like, clean your face at the earliest, so that there will be no adverse action of the chemicals on the delicate skin of face. *For your information, many skin creams (mostly fairness cream brands) are considered harmful and banned by Central Govt, Health ministry during March, 2016. The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) supported the ban. *Your skin ‘breaths’ through its pores which are not to be closed for long. Blocking pores by creams may cause more pimples. HOMOEOPATHIC medicines are taken internally. Hence, NO DIRECT CONTACT with your delicate and sensitive skin, thereby no problem of skin allergy. Homoeopathy has good treatment without causing adverse effects. The medicines work internally, tackle the root of the problem unlike face cream which is a surface treatment. Take Antim crd 200—once daily in the morning.

The skin of our feet lacks the normal sweat glands that are present everywhere else because of which it is normally a bit drier when compared to the rest of our body. Though anyone can have dry feet, it is more common among seniors and diabetics.
Occasional dryness of skin on any part of the body is not much of a problem. But chronically dry skin on the heels and feet can become problematic because it tends to ulcerate. In healthy people, the ulceration healed rather quickly due to good blood flow. But in seniors and especially in diabetics, the growth of new blood vessels and the repair of existing ones slows down quite a bit. So these chronically ulcerated heels crack further and attract bacteria, leading to infections. Diabetics are especially vulnerable to infections, thanks to chronically cracked heels.

Since cracked feet can be much more than just a cosmetic concern, it is important to manage them. Here are some tips on caring for cracked heels:
1: Make it a Habit: Cleaning, moisturizing and regular inspection of the feet is important. Regular moisturizing is a good cure for dry or cracked heels.
2: Soak Your Feet: At the end of the day, soak your feet in warm soapy water for about 15 minutes. Rinse feet and pat dry.
3: Make a healing mixture: Mix one teaspoon Vaseline and the juice of one lemon. Rub this mixture on cracked heels and other dry areas of the feet till it is thoroughly absorbed. The oils in this mixture will help to soften dry and cracked heels. You can then exfoliate more easily. Avoid harsh cosmetic exfoliating scrubs .Instead you can make your own gentle and natural scrub with honey, apple cider vinegar, and rice flour
• Grind 10-15gm of into a slightly coarse flour.
• Add a few spoons of raw honey along with apple cider vinegar to obtain a thick paste.
• If the cracks are very deep, you can add a spoon of olive oil or sweet almond oil.
• Soak your feet for 20 minutes in hot water or lime water and then massage them with this paste. The vinegar will help to dissolve the dead skin while the rice flour will gently slough off the top layer of dead skin. The honey and olive oil act as natural moisturizers and will help to keep the skin on your feet soft and moisturized and this will prevent further cracking.
4: Paraffin and Mustard Oil Remedy: Melt paraffin wax and mix it well with mustard oil. Apply on the cracked area. Rinse it off in the morning. You will probably want to wear a pair of socks to prevent it from making a mess. A continuous application for a week or two can achieve desirable results.
5: Plain Old Lemon Juice: Soak the feet in lemon juice for about 10 minutes. It is best to soak your feet in a lemon juice solution and then lightly scrub it with a loofah or apply the pulp of a ripe banana on the dry or cracked area of the heel. Lemon juice is a very mild natural acid and helps to dissolve dead and dry skin.
