Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -Apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -Find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -Avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -Good posture plays a key role in your spine health, helping to prevent additional back and neck pain and even injuries to spinal structures. Try to be aware of your posture and make good posture part of your normal routine. -head up, shoulders back, rear tucked under -Stand and walk with correct posture -Sit with support -Lift and carry carefully -And finally, keep moving:-Maintaining a static position for too long—more than twenty or thirty minutes at a time—is hard on the back. Prolonged static posture can slowly deplete elasticity from the tissues. By simply moving—be it a change of position, a stretch, or a short walk—the tissue elasticity needed to protect your joints can be restored and the associated discomfort reduced. -Stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -Some Physiotherapy treatment like IFT current can give you relief. -Consult a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your back pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I am 21 year old having problem rheumatoid arthritis. So having problem in right knee it gets stiff when place in same position for some time and feels difficulty in moving afterwards. Also it pain in arm while doing some work like doing brush n similarly feels pain in many parts. Taking medicines for it. 1- dashang lepa 50 gm + alsi-flax seed 50 gm, prepare a powder, take 10 gm prepare a paste in glycerin and apply two times morning and evening on rt. Knee joint, keep for one hour and later clean 2- - mahavishgarbha tail massage on painful joints twice in a day after removing lepa 3- dashmool kwath 10 ml + maharasna kwath 10 ml twice daily after food 4- triphala churna 5 gm at bed time with warm water may use knee cap-should not tight, take bit loose for support 5- may take ginger-adrak, mentha-pudina, dalchini tea instead of regular tea no curd, heavy food, cold beverages, do morning and evening walk and yogasana. Continue for 3 months, give feed back after every month.

Dear user you need to take care that you are not getting exposed to draft of cold air as this is changing weather out avoid cold exposure and over exertion keep onself active as far as possible and use a remedy Rhus Tox 1M twice a day for a week and update the status.

Neck Pain & Stiffness - How To Get Rid Of It?

Neck pain and stiffness can give you a harrowing time. From children to aged people, the condition is a common problem that can affect all and sundry. In addition to the pain and discomfort, the condition also restricts the head movement. The neck bones and muscles are important as they not only give support to the head but also ensures its free and unrestricted movement.

Stiff neck and neck pain can be an amalgamation of various factors such as
Our professional commitments often demand spending hours before the computer. The sedentary lifestyle is the main wrecker in chief, giving rise to many health complications, with neck pain and stiffness being one amongst them. Sitting in one position for long often results in muscle pull (tension) and strain. The muscle tension can also be an outcome of incorrect sleeping posture.

  • Neck injury and inflammation sustained during an exercise or due to an accident can also result in neck pain.
  • Neck injury followed by pain and stiffness can also be an outcome of Whiplash (a condition where a person suddenly jerks the head).
  • Stiffness and neck pain can also be triggered by medical conditions such as Meningitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis (of the neck), Heart attack, Fibromyalgia (muscular pain particularly in the shoulder and neck area), Cancer (of the spine), Spondylosis, and Spinal stenosis, to name a few.

Seek a medical assistance in case

  • The condition aggravates and persists for long.
  • The pain and stiffness are sudden and unexplained.
  • Pain that slowly moves down the arms and legs.
  • In addition to the neck pain and stiffness, a person complains of a headache, nausea, vomiting, fever, difficulty in eating food, a bowel disorder.
  • A lump (in the neck) accompanied by pain and stiffness needs immediate and thorough investigation.

Diagnosis and treatment
Neck pain and stiffness are often diagnosed by

  • Physical examination.
  • A lumbar puncture can also aid in the diagnosis.
  • Imaging tests such as X-rays, MRI, CT scans, Electromyography
  • Blood tests.

Depending on the severity, a doctor decides upon the course and mode of treatment

  1. The use of ice packs or heat pads (avoid very high temperature) on the affected area every 2-3 hours (for 15-20 minutes) can provide great relief.
  2. Gentle massaging can go a long way to relieve the pain and stiffness. It only helps to improve the blood circulation.
  3. Neck exercises and stretching play a pivotal role in strengthening the neck muscles, thereby reducing the pain and stiffness. However, in an endeavor to achieve maximum results, do not overdo yourself.
  4. Medicines such as Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), Tylenol, Advil, corticosteroid injections, come in handy in case of severe pain and inflammation.
  5. Use of a neck collar provides support to the affected area.
  6. Surgery may be recommended (very rare) in the case of serious complications.
  7. Some patients also benefit from Acupuncture and Chiropractic (alternate medicines). Consult an Expert & get answers to your questions!

You required both local and systemic treatment 1- dashanga lepa 10 gm, prepare a paste and apply on the painful knee at night, in morning clean it. 2- in morning do gentle massage with warm mahanarayan oil of painful knee 3- yograj guggul 500 mg one tablet twice in a day with no 4 medicine 4- maharasnadi kwath 15 ml twice in a day after food continue for 6 weeks and give feed back after one month.

As you feel pain in knees , Follow these usefultips for pain relief:* first check out your bone mineral density (bmd). In case of low bmd, your calcium level in body are low. So take take calcium rich diet daily. Take a glass (300 ml) of full cream milk daily or 100 gm of cheese or 1-2 eggs regularly. * do not do heavy leg exercises like running. * wear knee cap or wrap crape bandage during walk for knee support. * sit atleast for 5-8 minutes in sunlight in morning or evening for vitamind. *avoid heal shoe and wear only flat shoes for balanced load on knees. * check out your blood sugar level and hemoglobin level in every 6 months. * if you have any history of rheumatoid arthritis in family then checkout your ra factor. * take guggalu tablets if himalaya one tablet daily for atleast 3 months. * take a piece of garlic, crush it and boil it a glass of milk and drink daily for fast pain relief.

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do streching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief consult physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.
