Even if whole of the semen flows out, the few drops inside also contains millions of sperms which, if healthy will swim up to cause a pregnancy. 5 months is too small a time, give yourselves an year atleast and practice midcycle coitus that is sex during 7-18 th day of cycle.

It cannot be used as a regular contraceptive method and is quite unhealthy if taken more than twice a month. 3. The pill is to be taken soon after unprotected sex. It should be taken preferably within 24 hours and before 72 hours or else the pill may turn useless.

After reaching a certain age, a woman? s ovaries stop making eggs and there is less production of hormones like estrogen and progesterone that regulate menstruation and fertility. Gradually, menstrual cycles become irregular and eventually stop. Menopause is confirmed when a woman has no period for 12 consecutive months. This process normally happens between ages 45 and 55 at times, menopause can be triggered by medical procedures, such as a hysterectomy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, or primary ovarian insufficiency condition. While going through menopause, fluctuating levels of estrogen and progesterone can cause symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, tired feet, insomnia, depression, vaginal dryness, bladder problems, thinning hair, dry skin, breast pain, mood swings and memory problems. Most women do not need treatment for menopausal symptoms because they go away by themselves. However, if you are bothered by the symptoms, there are many natural ways to deal with them. For treatment consult privately any queries inform me.

For a woman 43 tears is a phase called perimenopausal period, periods begin to decline or stop completely and this phase may last for 1 year or more if not counselled properly. This is due to decline in hormone called estrogen, responsible for feminity, but women like men cannot go on producing babies like men who are fertile at 80+! remember the changes brought in the kid in you at the time of puberty, when your periods started, they were seldom regular but with time and minus medicines, periods got a pattern and a part of your youth and fertility status. Menopausal syndrome means collection of symptoms like hot flushes, increase in heart beat, bp & risk of a heart attack, fragile bones with less calcium and prone to fractures, slight increase in weight @ 1/2 kg per year, prolapse of genitourinary organs due to shrinkage in muscle mass, leading to going to loo again and again, some mind changes due to empty nest syndrome as children are on their own. Remember women want to live and they do live 100 & beyond and 43, your age is less than midway! please stop anti anxiety tablet alprazolam because of suicidal and negative effects on taking off from medicine even for a day. Continue with propranolol as it has suited you, but there is a better alternavive to this betablocker metoprolol (propronalol does lead to breathing problems in some). Take calcium + vitamin supplement like shelcal 500 / day, drink toned milk & curds, boiled eggs and other simple proteins, remember our food pipe too slows down and cannot digest heavy food like a 16 years old active girl. Go for walks, get involved in fruitful activities, be surrounded by positive people or have strength to tolerate negative people, do not compare with other women of your age, each is different with her own set of problems, eat lots of fresh seasonal fruits & vegetables, less salt and fats but some good fats like a spoon of desi ghee / butter + a katori of assorted nuts, get a cardiac profile done - ecg, halter, bp, blood for sugar and total lipid profile. Get eyes tested as some amount of dryness does affect the eyes too. Do write back after a week, preferably a bit about your gyne history. Perimenopause phase lasts from 40-50 years & each woman has her own set of problems & we cannot generalize.

Yes you can have sex from 6th month till 8th month. But during the time of pregnancy have only when your wife desire a lot. There are more chances of infection during the time of pregnancy due to hormonal imbalances or any vitamin d and a deficiency. I advice you if you want to have sex, ensure you don't have any infection and she is not having any health issue. Try only 6th month and 7th month alone. Take care.

Had a C-Section - 5 Tips to Help You Recover from it

Had a C-Section - 5 Tips to Help You Recover from it

After those nine months, the long waiting period gets over and the most exciting transition from a mommy-to-be, to a mommy finally begins. But then, things are not always as smooth as we expect, especially if you undergo a C-section to deliver your baby. It is indeed an overwhelming experience to hold your little one in your arms but you need to understand that a C-section surgery is a major abdominal surgery and you need to take precautions to recover from the surgery. The recovery period for the C-section delivery is much higher than the recovery period for the normal delivery.

Let us look at some ways for speedy recovery from C-section delivery:

  1. Relax: Taking proper rest will give your body the energy to recover from the surgery that you had undergone. Healing of the scar takes time and your post-partum body requires rest. But, taking proper rest is not as easy as it sounds when you have a new born baby to take care of, who needs a lot of attention and care. From feeding your baby at regular intervals to changing their nappies/diapers and making them sleep, all of it requires you to be on your toes. Make sure you always take some time out to rest and do not hesitate to take help from your spouse and family.
  2. Don’t put strain your body: Your body has just given birth to a baby and has undergone a major surgery; therefore, it is important that you give it time to heal. You should try not to get up too often, do not lift anything heavier than your baby, avoid sex until six weeks from the birth of your baby, hold your abdomen when you have to sneeze or cough to protect the incision site. Don’t start working out without your doctors’ green signal and don’t drive and take stairs, which might put a strain on your body.
  3. Take a good diet: Take plenty of healthy and nutritious food as your body still requires such a diet. Breastfeeding mothers need to understand that the sole source of nutrition for your baby is you. Include different vegetables and variety of healthy food to pass on nutrition to your little one. Take plenty of fluids, especially water as the fluid intake is necessary to increase breast milk supply. Including fibre rich diet will keep you away from issues, such as constipation, which is one of the most common issues that women face after having a baby.
  4. Medicines: Your doctor may prescribe you the medicines that you can take to reduce the pain and recover faster. The medicines prescribed would vary if you are breastfeeding and if you are not breastfeeding your baby, so taking up such issues become even more important for you and your baby.
  5. Take care of the Incision: Take proper care of the incision by keeping the wound clean and undisturbed for a faster recovery.

Don’t compare your recovery to someone else’s because the speed of recovery depends from person to person. Motherhood is an exciting phase of your life, so take care of yourself to have a speedy recovery and enjoy every moment of it.  Make memories and stay happy! If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

I have irregular period. Some time it's not happened. Consult with many Doctor. But result zero.
Treatment of irregular periods depends on the cause and your desire to have children in the future. Irregular periods can be caused by many different things. Changes in your body's level of the hormones estrogen and progesterone can disrupt the normal pattern of your period. That's why young girls going through puberty and women approaching menopause commonly have irregular periods. Other common causes of irregular periods include: •Having an intrauterine device (IUD) •Changing birth control pills or using certain medications •Excessive exercise •Polycystic ovary disease (PCOS) •Pregnancy or breastfeeding •Severe scarring (adhesions) of the lining of the uterus, a condition known as Asherman syndrome •Stress •Overactive thyroid or hyperthyroidism •Thickening of or polyps on the uterine lining •Uterine fibroids Turmeric Being a warming herb, turmeric is also considered helpful in regulating menstruation and balancing hormones. Its emmenagogue properties help stimulate menstrual flow. Moreover, its antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties relieve menstrual pain. •Consume one-quarter teaspoon of turmeric with milk, honey or jaggery. Take it daily for several weeks or until you see improvement. •You can also take turmeric in supplement form; check with your doctor for proper dosage.

I am 19 yrs old I have pain in my breast. And I like to press my nipple. then what to do.?

DGO, MBBS
Sexologist,
Breast pain is a common problem if it occurs before periods, because it happens due to hormonal changes, however if the pain stays all through the month or if you can feel some lump/swelling then you may need to do ultrasound examination of breasts. Wearing a well fitting bra may help.
