I am suffering from migraine problem from last 3 days. Please provide me the right.

MBBS
General Physician, Fatehabad
Hi lybrate-user, These four natural cures can help prevent, as well as reduce, the severity and the frequency of migraine attacks. 1. Exercise For a long time, doctors have been recommending exercise to migraine sufferers, and new evidence supports the idea that physical activity does help in preventing migraines. Gentle, regular exercise aids your body ward off stress and reduces tension, two things that are famous for triggering migraines. Exercising is also a good way of triggering the body to release endorphins, which are a mild, natural sedative. As a start, 75 minutes of vigorous or 150 minutes of mild aerobic activity, spread out over the course of a week 2. Magnesium: The human body does not make its own magnesium, meaning that you have to rely on dietary and supplement sources to get it. Magnesium supplements help your muscles and nerves throughout your body and brain relax; it also helps in preventing nerves from getting overexcited. Overall, the mineral is helpful in the reduction and prevention of migraines. If you would rather skip supplements, the best food sources of magnesium are black beans, quinoa, and flaxseeds 3. Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) - Also known as Riboflavin, Vitamin B2 is found in certain supplements and foods. It helps protect body cells from incurring oxidative damage as well as increasing energy production. It is widely reported that Riboflavin significantly reduces migraine headaches when consumed at high levels of about 400 mg a day, but it does not seem to have any effect on reducing the length or intensity of a migraine once it occurs. The best food sources of Riboflavin include whole grains, yogurt, almonds, eggs, spinach, and broccoli. It is recommended that you store these food sources away from sunlight; otherwise, the rays will destroy the chemical. 4. Omega-3 Fatty Acids - Anti-inflammatory Omega-3 fatty acids are abundant in a variety of food sources, especially seeds, nuts, and fish. These substances protect your brain cells and reduce inflammation, therefore reducing the pain associated with migraines. Besides, Omega-3 seem to be beneficial in reducing the duration and frequency of migraine headache attacks. The best food sources of these fats include flaxseeds, chia seeds, Pacific oysters, rainbow trout and Alaskan salmon. However, Omega-3 fats are fragile and easily damaged when exposed to oxygen, light, and heat, so store the food sources in proper containers and avoid overheating during food preparation. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I am having sleepiness problem all time. Feel like most inactive person. Like an insomniac. What should I do?
If you continue to feel sleepy and drowsy during day, that means you donot get quality sleep at night. This can be due to various reasons including a sleep disorder, osa etc also people with thyroid dysfunction or depression may feel lethargic and inactive. I would advise you to consult a physician and psychiatrist nearby for a detailed evaluation.

I am suffering from chronic constipation with hypertension and parkinson's. What is cure. Am 64 years old.
Please note that you need to consult and take treatment properly for your chronic problems. For constipation please use the below: Baking soda lies at the heart of home remedies. It’s is so incredibly versatile, and it pretty much does its job 95% of the time. It works incredibly well for constipation (and tummy aches in general) because it is a bicarbonate, which will encourage air to come out of you one way or another, and relieve pain from pressure. It also re-alkalizes the stomach, neutralizing the acid a little bit and helping things pass through your gut. You will need… -1 teaspoon baking soda -1/4 cup warm water Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with ¼ cup of warm water. Drink all of the mixture-the quicker you finish it, the better it seems to work. Rest of the problems get back to me...

Best Homeopathic Treatment For Migraine

Homeopath, Delhi
Best Homeopathic Treatment For Migraine

Migraine is a kind of a headache. It is a derivative of the word ‘hemicranias’, meaning side headaches. However, it is not just sided headaches. It can be present in the entire head. It is characterised by a throbbing and pulsating pain.

Symptoms of Migraine Headaches-

The pain in this disease may last for hours or even days. The nature of the pain is episodic. It occurs every once in awhile. Its frequency varies from patient to patient. There may be longer gaps between the occurrences of two episodic pains. While some patient might get relief by taking a simple nap or sleep for hours, others may have a tougher time to tackle. Most patients cannot bear light during the pain and prefer staying in darker places. The pain is preceded by certain symptoms, including flashes of light, temporary blindness or tingling sensation in the limbs. These symptoms are experienced by few, while others might not have these symptoms at all.

What Causes Migraine?

The exact cause of migraine is still unknown. There are however some factors that may trigger the headaches. The most important of all these factors is stress. Any form of mental stress can initiate a headache in all patients of this disease. Other factors include exposure to sun rays, improper sleep and staying hungry than usual. Loud noise is also responsible in some cases.

Homoeopathy For Migraine Headaches-

One must understand the difference between relief and cure from migraine headaches. There are patients who take pills to get relief from the pain. These are simple painkillers. They might have been doing this for years. But these pills provide temporary relief from the pain. There are a number of home-based remedies that people take up to get relief from the pain. Patients adjust with the pain and learn to live with it. It is difficult for them to believe that their life can ever get rid of this pain permanently. However, it is possible in homeopathy.

Homeopathic treatment not only provides relief but it works to cure the disease permanently. Homeopathy doesn’t support the use of painkillers or in short cut ways of treatment. It goes deeper to find out the root cause and eradicate the tendency in a permanent basis. The homeopathic medicines take time in showing results but work best in the long run.

There are a number of homeopathic medicines to cure the disease. But here are some of the most effective ones:

  1. Belladonna

  2. Glonoine

  3. Natrum Mur

  4. Sanguinaria

  5. Spigelia

Note: It is always best to consult a homeopathic practitioner before taking any medicine. There are several other medicines available too. So, your doctor will know what suits you the best, depending upon your symptoms.

Sir my nephew is 25 days old and suffering from meningitis. We admitted him in icu can you tell me how much time it takes to completely well. And doctor also take CT scan and found a minor swelling in brain..

MBBS, MD - Medicine, DM - Neurology
Neurologist, Ghaziabad
Response to treatment depends upon the type of meningitis and when the treatment started. Without these details it's difficult to tell the outcome of disease. Since infants have lower immunity the disease can be fatal despite best of treatment and can have poor prognosis. But the actual response to treatment and outcome in this case will depend upon the present neurological status of child.

My son is 26 years old. His brain was declined and was operated at Hospital before 4 years. After operation he is unable to walk without support. He is doing physiotherapy everyday. Still he has not recovered. What should I do? Is second operation required? As per doctors consulted, not to go for second operation as it is not assured that he will start walking.

MD - Psychiatry, MBBS
Psychiatrist, Patna
I understand your concern. I can imagine how painful it is to see somebody so close suffering with such condition. Neurological illness like brain pathology even after brain surgery is very slow to recover. Although the current situation appears to be not good. It will improve gradually. Brain has a very slow recovery and regeneration rate. It may take many months to years to get the desired function of limbs. I wish your son a better health.

Hi, my dad was operated for brain haemorrhage, the operation was successful and clotting was removed, My question is some times he goes into such a deep sleep that he would wake up if we call or pinch him, I tried a lot to make him open his eyes but he won't, he raises his hand and even yarn. Is this common for this kind of surgery or is it a serious neuro issue. Regards,

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine, Fellow in Pain Management, DM - Neurology
Neurologist, Delhi
Hello increased drowsiness in a patient of Brain Hemorrhage could be due to Hyponatremia low sodium. Low glucose or some infection like urine infection. Better you should get done routine tests like Sodium, Blood Sugar, Complete blood count. If these are normal then consult your neurologist / neurosurgeon you may need to repeat your CT scan in that case.
