Hii I was with thyroid with tsh 9.81 and taking thyrox-50 but after 3 month now with tsh level is 1.94 ulU/ml so my qst is 1) please tell me now is this the suitable tsh level for pregnancy? 2) do I need to continue thyrox-50 or reduce to thyrox-25?

MBBS, DNB

Kindly continue the same dose of levothyroxine. DONOT REDUCE THE DOSE. The requirement of medication would increase during pregnancy. Hence repeat the test when pregnancy is detected. Keep taking the medicine during the pregnancy especially during first 13 weeks when fetuses thyroid is yet to begin functioning and its need for levothyroxine are met through the mother. Regards.

The best treatment of Gout consists of restoring the balance of Vata (Air element) and detoxifying the blood. High protein diet should be avoided in cases of increased uric acid. Mix one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink it two to three times daily. If you find this remedy helpful, you can increase the dosage of apple cider vinegar to up to two tablespoons. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take maha yograj guggul 1-1 twice a day. Kaishor guggul and chandraprabha vati 1-1 twice a day. Avoid junk food. Fermented food. Spicy food. Tea.coffee. Do pranayama early morning. Avoid alcohol consumption. Consult me in private for more details.

Respected doctors kind please advise me ki agar thyroid ho to calcium supplement lene chaheye ki nhi? Kya calcium supplement lene se thyroid badta hai? Kyu ki mera thyroid 4 month phele 9.3 ml tha or main thyroix25 tablets le rhe hu but fir bhi mera thyroid ab bad ki 13. 2ho gya hai. Is ke ilawa main ashokarist or ashwaghandharist bhi daily do time lete hu. Kindly advise me ki in me se kise dwai ka koi role to nhi thyroid ko increase karne me.

Diploma in Diabetology, MBBS

There are 2 issues here. Either your Thyroid tablet dose is inadequate or if you are taking your Thyroid & calcium tablets together then it will reduce the effect of your Thyroid tablet. Make sure that your calcium is taken in the afternoon or evening so that it does not interfere with your Thyroid tablet absorption. This is also the case with iron. So make sure that all these tablets are taken at different times to avoid any interference in absorption.

Periods are not regular. Periods usually varies between 28 to 35 days if periods are coming after more than 35 days then you should go for private consultation from me where I will tell you medicines with no side effects. For your mother, get t3, t4 and tsh levels done. Only after that we can start treatment.

She is a diabetic patient. Sometimes she feel very fatigue. Please give me a suggestion.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
She is a diabetic patient. Sometimes she feel very fatigue. Please give me a suggestion.
Diabetes affects all organs in the body – Eyes, kidneys, nerves, reproductive system all are affected, In fact, from toe to hair. For diabetic control, patient and doctor should be in constant touch for regular follow up and advice. The common symptoms are:-Both types of diabetes have some of the same tell-tale warning signs. Hunger and fatigue. Your body converts the food you eat into glucose that your cells use for energy. But your cells need insulin to bring the glucose in. If your body doesn't make enough or any insulin, or if your cells resist the insulin your body makes, the glucose can't get into them and you have no energy. This can make you more hungry and tired than usual. Urinating more often and being thirstier. The average person usually has to pee between four and seven times in 24 hours, but people with diabetes may go a lot more. Dry mouth and itchy skin. Because your body is using fluids to make pee, there's less moisture for other things. You could get dehydrated, and your mouth may feel dry. Dry skin can make you itchy. Blurred vision. Changing fluid levels in your body could make the lenses in your eyes swell up. They change shape and lose their ability to focus. Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch personally.

1.Get regular cardiovascular exercise of any kind for at least 30 minutes a day every day, or as often as possible. Cardiovascular exercise increases metabolism and boosts levels of serotonin in the brain that can be lowered in individuals with hypothyroidism. It also stimulates the circulatory system. 2.Eat a healthy, whole-food diet, including fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and fish. Eliminate all processed, refined foods and foods high in fat, sugar and salt. 3.Boost your intake of thyroid-friendly foods and eliminate other healthy, but unfriendly foods from your diet.Try intake of foods rich in B-vitamins and iron, such as whole grains, fresh vegetables and sea vegetables. It also recommends avoiding certain foods that can affect healthy thyroid function, including kale, spinach, broccoli, peanuts, linseed, cassava, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, turnips, soybeans and millet. 4.Supplement your diet with omega 3 fatty acids -- fish oil . I capsule daily. 5.Practice yoga, focusing on poses that stimulate the thyroid gland. Yoga poses encourage healthy thyroid function and should be practiced regularly. These include bridge pose, full boat pose, plow pose, king pigeon pose, shoulder stand and upward-facing two-foot staff pose. If you are new to yoga, find an experienced professional who can introduce you to the basics of yoga and help guide you through a practice that will help stimulate your thyroid. Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. If you have fasting blood glucose 200 mg and HbA1c% 9, then your diabetes is totally uncontrolled. Ideally fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. It appears you need to change or up grade the present medication in order to control blood glucose and reduce possibility of developing long term complications associated a almost every single system. Another thing I notice is that your BMI is 26.78 kgs/M2 (normal <23 kgs/M2), showing over weight, which also is a contributory factor for high blood glucose. In this communication we are only allowed to give general guidelines but no prescriptions. Therefore, it is better if you come in a private conversation with all the necessary details, then I will be able to guide. Thanks.

First get his kidney levels checked, since high BP is an indication of underlying kidney problem.there are medications to control, besides look out for hidden salt in processed, bakery and ready made foods. Take adequate water and ample rest to bring down the BP naturally.

Hello, I have gone through the values mentioned, following are higher than normal: uric acid, total cholesterol, ldl and alt. Others are fine. Toal cholesterol is marginally high but ldl is definitely much higher. Liver enzyme alt is also marginally high. Not much of a problem but if you are alcoholic then it is better to reduce or stop that. Higher uric acid can cause joit pains, otherwise nothing much to worry.

I am suffering from thyroid for last 5 years kindly advice me what to do next taken medicine eltroxin 75.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
I will advise you to go for homoeopathic treatmnt for Thyroid.Although, the path of homoeopathy for your problem iss quiet difficult but very fruitful because you are already taking ELTROXIN for 5 years. Either go on taking just 1 tab eltroxin early morning life long with increased dose at regular intervals along with it side effects or try to adopt a difficult but fruitful path of homoeopathy for next 2-3 years in which no doubt that you will have to regularily take 2 homoeopathic medicines 3 times a day as compared to ELTROXIN( Only once a day nd finish for the day) but with time we will slowly decrease the dose of ELTROXIN( In next 8-12 months of taking homoeopathic treatment you will get rid of ELTROXIN altogether) .And once Eltroxin is out of your life we will start decreasing the dose of homoeopathic medicines.nd in 2-3 years you will be medicine nd Thyroid free. So ass saidearlier either choose the difficult but fruitful part of homoeopathy for 2-3 yearss or just take i tab ELTROXIN life long along with the sideeffects of such mediciness. Choice is yours

Drugs is an adjuvant treatment, not the main treatment. Walk everyday for 40 min, control diet and weight with no oil, sweet, rice and potatoes, and lastly drugs. Medicines work only if you control exercise and diet. It seems you need to correct all three. But you will have to see a diabetologist to change drugs. This is the area where doctor's supervision is must.

Ayurvedic treatment will help you for DM. Your insulin will never stop unless your sugar is in control . Do HbA1c regularly for every 3 months. Check your kidney function test. Then start ayurveda Medicine.
