10 HEALTHY HEART TIPS ::

A healthy lifestyle will make your heart healthier. Here are 10 things you can do to improve yours.

1) GET ACTIVE
Do 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity every week. One way to achieve this target is by doing 30 minutes of activity on five days a week. Fit it in where you can, such as by cycling to work.

2) GIVE UP SMOKING
Smoking is one of the main causes of coronary heart disease. A year after giving up, your risk of a heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker.

3) MANAGE YOUR WEIGHT
Being overweight can increase your risk of heart disease. Stick to a well-balanced diet low in fat and high in fruit and vegetables, combined with plenty of physical activity.

4) DITCH THE SALT
To maintain a healthy blood pressure, stop using salt at the table and try adding less to your cooking, or cut it out completely. You'll soon get used to it. Also watch out for high salt levels in processed foods. Check the food labels – a food is high in salt if it has more than 1.5g salt (or 0.6g sodium) per 100g.

5) PLENTY OF FRUITS & VEGETABLES
Eat five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. Add dried fruit to breakfast and add vegetables to your sauces and curries.

6) EAT OILY FISH
Eat oily fish twice a week. Fish such as mackerel, sardines, fresh tuna and salmon are an excellent source of omega-3 fats, which can help protect against heart disease.

7) WALK OFF STRESS
If you're feeling under pressure, clear your mind with a walk. It will help put your ideas in order and reduce tension. If it's a brisk walk, it will also count towards your daily activity.

8) CUT DOWN ON SATURATED FATS
Small changes to your diet can have positive health benefits. Choose semi-skimmed over full-fat milk, leaner cuts of meat, and steam or grill foods rather than frying. Find out the facts about fat.

वैज्ञानिक नाम प्रूनस एवियम वाले चेरी की गिनती सबसे रोमांटिक फलों में की जाती है. दुनिया भर में लोकप्रिय चेरी कई रंगों जैसे लाल, काले और पीले रंग की होती है. न सिर्फ खाने में बल्कि देखने में भी खुबसूरत लगने वाले चेरी को विश्व में सबसे अधिक यूरोप और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में पैदा किया जाता है. अपने देश में चेरी की खेती ज्यादातर कश्मीर, हिमाचल प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड और उत्तरपूर्वी राज्यों में की जाती है. इसमें पाए जाने वाले पोषक तत्वों में थायमीन, राइबोफ्लैविन, विटमिन बी-6 और पैटोथेनिक एसिड भी प्रचुर मात्रा में पाया जाता है. इसके अलावा इसमें नायसिन, फोलेट और विटमिन ए भी पाया जाता है. खनिजों में पोटेशियम, मैगनीज, कॉपर, आयरन, कैल्शियम और फास्फोरस की भी कुछ मात्रा पाई जाती है. इसमें मौजूद एंटीऑक्सिडेंट्स मुक्त कणों को बेअसर कर देते हैं. आइए चेरी के फायदे और नुकसान को जानें.

1. प्रतिरोधक क्षमता बढ़ाने में
हमारे शरीर को रोगमुक्त रखने के लिए हमारे प्रतिरक्षा तंत्र की मजबूती जरुरी है. चेरी में पाया जाने वाला एंटीऑक्सिडेंट (विटामिन सी, कैरोटीनोइड और फ्लैनोयोइड) मुक्त कणों को नष्ट करके प्रतिरक्षा तंत्र को मजबूती प्रदान करते हैं. इससे हम जीवाणु, वायरल और फंगल संक्रमण, विशेष रूप से बृहदान्त्र, मूत्र पथ, आंतों, खांसी और सर्दी आदि से बच जाते हैं.
2. कैंसर के उपचार में
कैंसर जैसी गंभीर बीमारियों से बचने में भी चेरी सहायक साबित होता है. चेरी में पाए जाने वाले फ्लावोनोइड्स, कैरोटीनॉयड और विटामिन ए एवं विटामिन सी बहुत शक्तिशाली एंटी-कारसिनोजेनिक यौगिक हैं. ये यौगिक कैंसर कोशिकाओं के विकास को कुशलता से रोककर नए कैंसर के विकास को ट्रिगर करने वाले मुक्त कणों को निष्क्रिय करते हैं.
3. आँखों के लिए उपयोगी
चेरी हमारे आँखों के लिए भी काफी लाभदायक साबित होता है. इसमें मौजूद एंटीऑक्सिडेंट मुक्त कणों द्वारा किए गए सभी नुकसानों के प्रति आंखों की रक्षा करते हैं. इससे एजिंग जैसे दृष्टि हानि, धब्बेदार अध: पतन और आँखों के सूखेपन के साथ-साथ सूजन को भी कम करता है. चेरी हमारे आंखों के दबाव को नियंत्रित करके इसे संक्रमण से भी बचाता है.
4. मस्तिष्क की दक्षता में
चेरी मस्तिष्क की दक्षता में सुधार करके इसे सक्रिय रखने के लिए फ्लेवोनोइड और कैरोटीनोइड बहुत प्रभावी होते हैं. यदि आप भी बुढ़ापे में एक सुस्त मस्तिष्क और कम स्मृति क्षमता को बनाए रखरखना चाहते हैं तो आप भी चेरी खाना शुरू कर दें. ऐसा करने से आप नब्बे की उम्र में भी जल्दी और मानसिक रूप से चतुर बन सकते हैं.
5. कब्ज में
चेरी में पाया जाने वाला फाइबर कब्ज से राहत देने में भी मदद करता है. इसमें मौजूद एसिड पाचन में भी सहायता करता है. चेरी में पाया जाने वाले एंटीऑक्सिडेंट पाचन तंत्र को क्रम में रखने में सहायक होता है. इसमें मौजूद फ्लेवोनोइड पाचक रस और पित्त को उत्तेजित करते हैं.
6. हृदय को स्वस्थ रखने में
चेरी में ह्रदय को पोषण देने वाले कई तत्व जैसे कि विटामिन, एंटीऑक्सिडेंट (फ्लेवोनोइड्स और कैरोटीनोइड) और खनिज जैसे फास्फोरस आदि पाए जाते हैं. ये उत्कृष्ट हृदय-संरक्षक माने जाते हैं. चेरी हृदय गति को नियमित रखने में मदद करने के साथ ही रक्त वाहिकाओं को सख्त होने से भी रोककर उच्च रक्तचाप को कम करते हैं. इससे दिल के दौरे का खतरा भी कम होता है.
7. त्वचा के लिए लाभकारी
त्वचा को स्वस्थ और सुन्दर बनाने के लिए भी चेरी महत्वपूर्ण है. इसमें पाया जाने वाला विटामिन ए, बी, सी और ई के साथ मल्टीविटामिन खुराक के लिए पर्याप्त है. चेरी का रस काले धब्बों को भी साफ कर सकता है. इसमें मौजूद एंटी-ऑक्सीडेंट की भरपूर मात्रा शरीर में मौजूद मुक्त कणों से लड़कर बुढ़ापे की प्रक्रिया को धीमा करता है.
8. अनिद्रा में
चेरी में मैलाटोनिन नामक एक रासायनिक पदार्थ पाया जाता है जो कि सोने के पैटर्न को नियंत्रित करता है. आपको बता दें कि मैलेटोनिन अनिद्रा के उपचार में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है. इससे नींद आने की संभावना बढ़ती है.
9. वजन कम करने में
चेरी के रस से हमें रोजाना आवश्यक कैलोरी की सही मात्रा मिलती रहती है. जिससे कि हम अपनी वजन में कमी ला सकते हैं. इसके अलावा आप चाहें तो एक ब्लेंडर में पानी और कच्चे चेरी को मिलाकर चेरी के रस का एक कप पी भी सकते हैं.
10. बालों के स्वास्थ्य के लिए
बालों को स्वस्थ और सुन्दर बनाने के लिए भी चेरी का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है. दरअसल चेरी में पाया जाने वाला विटामिन और पोषक तत्व बालों के लिए भी काफी फायदेमंद साबित होता है. चेरी के नियमित सेवन से बालों की समस्याओं को भी दूर किया जा सकता है.
11. गठिया के उपचार में
चेरी में एन्थोसियानिन नाम का गठिया रोग के लिए बहुत ही फायदेमंद तत्व होता है. गठिया रोग से पीड़ित लोगों के शरीर में यूरिक एसिड अधिक मात्रा में बनने लगता है. इसके लिए गठिया से पीड़ित व्यक्ति को दिन में करीब 15 से 20 चेरी का सेवन करना चाहिए.

चेरी के नुकसान

  • इसके ज्यादा सेवन से कुछ लोगों को आंत्र गैस, पेट में ऐंठन या ब्लोटिंग महसूस हो सकता है.
  • इसके सेवन से कुछ पोषक तत्वों की कमी भी हो सकती है.
  • जिन लोगों को चेरी के सेवन से एलर्जी है उन्हें इसके सेवन से बचना चाहिए.
     

I am a class 12 CBSE student. I once had thick hair, but due to academic pressure I lost a major fraction of my hair. I feel my scalp at its best on the day of hair bath but on some days my scalp gets really itchy due to dandruff. I wonder how does it get into my head overnight! Even though I oil my scalp regularly I get this problem. As my hair appears thin when I apply oil I feel embarrassed to face the people and the sun! Please give me alternatives to applying oil to keep my scalp moisturized and to prevent dandruff? Also please help me to control hair fall and to regrow my hair? Suggest some easy home remedies or branded products available in the market for the problem. What branded shampoo can I use? I am currently using AYUSH FENUGREEK SHAMPOO and PATANJALI CONDITIONER. ALSO please suggest alternatives to applying hair oil. I currently use normal coconut oil.

Dandruff may be the result of a dry scalp, or a skin condition called seborrheic dermatitis. It could also be caused by eczema, psoriasis, or, very commonly, an overgrowth of a yeast like fungus called malassezia. Drugstore remedies might include shampoos with zinc pyrithione, which targets fungus and bacteria; ketoconazole, which also fights fungus; coal tar and selenium sulphide, which slow the growth and die-off of skin cells on your scalp; and salicylic acid. 1) Aspirin contains the same active ingredient (salicylic acid) as many medicated dandruff shampoos. Keep flaking in check by crushing two aspirins to a fine powder and adding it to the normal amount of shampoo you use each time you wash your hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for 1-2 minutes, then rinse well and wash again with plain shampoo. 2) Wet your hair and then rub a handful of baking soda vigorously into your scalp. Skip the shampoo and go right to rinsing. Baking soda reduces overactive fungi that can cause dandruff. Your hair may get dried out at first, but after a few weeks your scalp will start producing natural oils, leaving your hair softer and free of flakes so they can be washed away. For natural treatments .Before showering, massage 3-5 tablespoons of coconut oil into your scalp and let sit for about an hour. Do not use Shampoo. These best option is to use pure coconut oil Hair loss is extremely common, affecting about 50 million men and 30 million women Hair-loss prevention depends on the underlying cause. Good hair hygiene with regular shampooing is a basic step but is probably of little benefit. Good nutrition, especially adequate levels of iron and vitamin B, is helpful. Treatment of underlying medical conditions like thyroid disease, anemia, and hormonal imbalances may useful in prevention. A good daily multivitamin containing zinc, vitamin B, folate iron, and calcium is a reasonable choice, CHECK your blood CBC, TSH, Serum ferritin and send reports to me. As hypothyroidism and anemia can also cause hair fall Here are a few things you can do to prevent your hair from falling: 1. Follow a healthy lifestyle, 2. Take care of your hair, 3. Avoid things bad for your hair, and 4. Adopt simple Home treatments. 1. Follow a Healthy Lifestyle Hair, like your skin and your nail, is often a barometer of general health. If you are healthy, your hair will probably look good. And if your hair is falling, it could be a sign of possible health problems. So everything you do for good health also applies to hair: eat your fruits and vegetables (Vitamin B, Iron, Calcium and Zinc have especially been linked to healthy hair); always consume a protein-rich diet (hair is made of proteins), and drink adequate water. Home treatments for healthy hair Make a paste of henna, curd, soaked and ground fenugreek, ground hibiscus flowers, ground gooseberries, and egg (all of them or any one) and apply it onto the hair and scalp for about an hour before shampooing. Done regularly, this will make your hair stronger and better-looking. But remember that henna is suitable only for dark colored hair because it tints hair red. Wash the hair out with decoction of tea or a bit of lemon squeezed into the water in which you will bathe. (for dandruff). Apply coconut or almond oil. If doing this daily does not appeal to you, apply the oil on the scalp overnight before shampooing, or apply a drop to the top of your head before you comb out your hair. MEDICATION The only medication approved for female pattern baldness is Minoxidil: •It is applied to the scalp. •For women, the 2% concentration is recommended. •Minoxidil may help hair grow in about 1 in 4 or 5 of women. In most women, it may slow or stop hair loss. •You must continue to use this medicine for a long time. Hair loss starts again when you stop using it. If Minoxidil does not work, your doctor may recommend other medicines, such as spironolactone, cimetidine, birth control pills, and ketoconazole, among others. Your doctor can tell you more about these if needed. HAIR TRANSPLANT During hair transplant, tiny plugs of hair are removed from areas where hair is thicker, and placed (transplanted) in areas that are balding. Minor scarring may occur where hair is removed. There is a slight risk of skin infection. You will likely need many transplants, which can be expensive. However, the results are often excellent and permanent. OTHER SOLUTIONS Hair weaving, hairpieces, or a change in hairstyle can help hide hair loss and improve your appearance. This is often the least expensive and safest way to deal with female pattern baldness.

Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for Back Pain:-Along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Even after burning 1000 calories through exercise and gym trg and strict diet, my weight rose by 1 kg this week which really disappointed me. What should I do as I have to reduce 10 kg in a very short time. Iam 1.73 cm in height and weigh 86 kg.

There is no easy way out, you have to persist on a reasonable diet for the rest of your life. Gym trg does not help you loose weight, you need to run / jog / walk for 45 min a day for 5 days a week.
