I am 23rd old male from Mombasa kenya. I have a knee injury with acl tear and have done a mri scan. What should I do ...
Exercises should not be painful to perform. Aim to work within the pain free range of motion. We recommend seeking professional advice before attempting any anterior cruciate ligament rehabilitation exercises. Exercisesfor knee and to maintain its mobility includes: 1Knee flexion & extension Following an anterior cruciate ligament injury it is common for the patient to have difficulty straightening the leg. Gently bend and straighten the knee to keep it mobile and try to improve range of motion. You can do this in sitting, standing or lying, however you are most comfortable. Don't push it into pain, only do what you can comfortably achieve. Repeat 10 to 20 times. Repeat the set 3 times a day until full mobility is restored. 2Heel slides Lie on your back and bend the knee ensuring the foot stays in contact with the floor. Repeat 10 to 20 times. Slight discomfort may be felt but not pain. This exercise can also be done by using a towel or similar to assist in pulling the leg in. Play heel slide knee mobility video 3Hamstring stretch Hamstring stretches can be done in a number of ways either sitting, standing or lying down. Gently take the leg to the limit of its comfortable range until a gentle stretch is felt at the back of the thigh. Hold for 20 to 30 seconds and relax - you can search on utube for hamstring stretch 4Groin stretch This exercise stretches the adductor muscles on the inside of the thigh. Sit on the floor with both legs out straight, as far apart as you comfortably can. Lean forwards from the hips until you feel a gentle stretch in the groin area. Hold for 20-30 seconds - Strengthening exercises Strengthening exercises can also begin as soon as pain allows. The further you can get with strengthening exercises prior to surgery then the more likely you are to have a faster recovery post operation. 5 Isometric quadriceps exercise Contract the knee muscles and hold for 5 to 10 seconds. Relax for about 3 seconds and repeat 10 to 20 times. U can also place towel roll and press it till you count 30 do these exercises 2 - 3 tomes daily.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I will have to understand why you are having these pains in multiple joints of the body. You need to get some blood tests done and send me the results so that I can see them and advise accordingly: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels. The reports of these tests can give us a clue to whether there is any inflammation going on, also if there is any deficiency, that can be corrected as well. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Being overweight may increase inflammation in the body that can lead to joint pain. One study found that overeating triggers the body’s immune response, which increases inflammation, and that losing weight can reduce this inflammatory response. Every pound of excess weight exerts about 4 pounds of extra pressure on the knees. For prevention you have to reduce your weight. For curable try the Acupuncture treatment.

Kindly show me x-rays of affected parts. Rheumatoid arthritis is a self limiting disease. Acute phase can be managed with medicines. Physiotherapy helps in preventing contractures & deformities. Keep your moral up! any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do knee exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4-5 days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference?

Rheumatoid Arthritis - Homeopathy Offers The Best Cure!

Are you suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and looking for an effective treatment? You can choose homeopathic treatment as it is natural and is free from any side effect. Rheumatoid arthritis is a form of autoimmune disease, which causes inflammation of the joints. The inflammation can be chronic and does not subside on its own. It leads to destruction of your joint tissues. Here are some top homeopathic medicines, which are used for treating rheumatoid arthritis:

  1. Causticum: This is one of the primary homeopathic medicines used to treat rheumatoid arthritis when there are joint deformities. The patient weakens over time and the muscles lose strength eventually. The patient feels extremely restless during the night and the restlessness is associated mostly with the legs. Contractions in the tendons likely result in deformities and intense pain. The pain is tearing in nature. Due to weakness of the forearm muscles, the patient may not have a firm grip on anything. The pain usually improves by keeping the affected the area warm.
  2. Caulophyllum: This is an effective medicine for rheumatoid arthritis and is commonly used for women. It is used when small joints are affected more, compared to the larger joints in the limbs. This medicine is mostly used to treat arthritis of fingers of your hands and feet. The pain keeps on changing positions all the time within a small span of time. At one moment, you may feel it on your right hand, and soon after it may affect your left hand. Gradually, it shifts towards the feet as well.
  3. Colchicum: This homeopathic medicine is usually required during chronic stages of rheumatoid arthritis. It affects several tissues such as periosteum, synovial membranes and other muscle tissues. The inflamed parts turn red, become hot and swollen. The pain is expected to worsen during the evening and night. The fingertips may feel numb and you may feel some joint stiffness as well. A feverish feeling is also likely.
  4. Ledum Pal: This medicine is used in the cases of rheumatoid arthritis where the rheumatoid starts in the feet and travels upwards spreading to the upper joints of the body. The patient feels cold, but still cannot bear any amount of warmth. The small joints present in the feet are commonly affected. Swelling in the toes and ankles is a common symptom.
  5. Bryonia: This is an excellent homeopathic medicine for rheumatoid arthritis. It is used when all the joints and joint membranes are swollen and affected. The pain experienced is unbearable and increases with motion. The inflamed joints become red and swollen.

To know the best homeopathic remedy which is ideal for treating your rheumatoid arthritis, you should visit a trained homeopathic practitioner.
