To gain weight you should eat at frequent intervals" never skip any meal of the day" avoid junk food. Don't smoke as smoking suppresses appetite. Take healthy diet with enough of good fat, carbs & protein in diet. Include high calorie food items in between your main meals such as dark chocolates, cakes, nuts, cheese, yoghurt, sweetened beverages such as cold coffee, shakes. Help yourself with more of nuts & dairy products.

Genital Tract Infection - Know The Most Common Causes Of It!

Genital Tract Infection - Know The Most Common Causes Of It!

While genital infections are an uneasy topic to discuss and seek treatment for, ignoring them leads to severe complications like infertility and even death. Most of these can be treated with a regular course of antibiotics and some topical treatment when identified early. Genital infections can be broadly classified into sexually transmitted and non-sexually transmitted. Read on to know some more common infections in both the categories.

Sexually transmitted diseases:

  1. Chlamydia: Caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis, it is the most common STD and affects about 10% of 20 to 30 year olds. It is often asymptomatic, but in few cases, there could be increased vaginal discharge. Left undetected, it can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and subsequently infertility.
  2. Gonorrhea: The bacteria Neisseria gonorrhea causes this STD, which is very common. There could be some irritation or discharge, but is mostly asymptomatic. Like Chlamydia, if not treated, it can lead to PID and infertility.
  3. HIV: The most dangerous of all, it causes AIDS, with immunosuppression as a major effect and affecting overall health. The women affected by HIV are more prone to candida and other genital infections.
  4. Genital warts: This viral infection is caused by human papilloma virus (HPV) and manifests as multiple warts on the vulva, vagina, and cervix and can cause cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (precancerous).
  5. Genital herpes: This virus again causes multiple small vesicles and ulcers around the vagina, painful urination, and swelling of the lymph nodes. Caused by type 1 herpes virus more commonly than type 2, it has a high chance of recurrence.
  6. Trichomonas: This STD manifests with very few symptoms and can go undetected for a long time. It can lead to PID and infertility.
  7. Syphilis: Caused by Treponema pallidum, there are 3 stages. The primary stage presents with an ulcer. The secondary presents with a rash, multiple genital warts, and oral warts/ulcers. It then goes into a latent phase and may subside without progression. In some cases, it reaches the tertiary stage and can affect various body organs including the liver, heart, or brain.

Non-sexually transmitted diseases: There two major genital infections not transmitted by sex are bacterial vaginosis and candidiasis.

  1. Bacterial vaginosis (BV): Constant change in the bacteria mix present in the genital area produces an imbalance and leads to altered pH and therefore BV. Pregnancy, intrauterine device, and frequent douching are proven risk factors for developing BV.
  2. Candidiasis: The genital tract usually has yeasts, and Candida vaginalis is present in the vagina. An overgrowth of this leads to infection. This can be caused by use of antibiotics (which destroy the good bacteria), diabetes, pregnancy, and birth control pills.

Early diagnosis and intervention of these infections can prevent severe symptoms in most cases. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Suffering from pcos and hypothyroidism. I do gyming. And taking homeopathy medicines for pcos and eltroxin 50mcg for ...
When on treatment for hypothyroidism tsh levels should be between 3 to 4 milli units / ml, to be in control and free from symptoms. If you achieved that then all symptoms including hair loss will stop. Of all the symptoms hair loss is the last one to go. Plus I am sure you are following the dosing guidelines of taking thyroxine tablets early morning on empty stomach and nothing to be taken after that for 2 hours. This has to be followed always. Secondly avoid soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, peanuts, mustard and coffee. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salds and fruits. Use whole grain flour for chapati and roti, avoid refined flour like maida. Avoid high fat milk products. Your dietary intake has to be based on your ideal body weight (58 kgs). Calories 58 x 25 = 1450. Plus since you want to loose weight, another 500 k cals should be less. So daily intake has to be just about 1000 k cal.

Hi madam g, period k baad apne partner see kitne day, kitne time sex kre, kese karennn.
This all depends on your period. If it is 30 or 28 days. Then 1-10 and 20-30 days are fully safe days. You can do unprotected sex in these days. More query you can ask.

As fat loss is a gradual process. There is no quick fix approach. Following a healthy diet which has optimal amounts of first class proteins (dairy products, eggs, chicken etc) reduced carbohydrates (white rice, poha etc) & healthy fats (almonds, walnuts etc) along with a structured exercise program that is balanced with weight training and cardio will surely help. You cannot target specific areas, fat is lost uniformly, but it may appear to go faster from the areas where you store less than the problem areas. Be consistent and patient. Kindly consult us for a customized diet and workout plan.
